A few hours had pa.s.sed since Sebastian departed for Raven City.
The modest carriage was quiet roomy and afforded him ample s.p.a.ce to move about aside from one small corner where Chamberlain Ross rested his eyes. He kept his saber attached to his waist and patiently waited for his arrival.
As the carriage began to enter Foxtail Town's border, it abruptly came to a halt which threw Chamberlain Ross into the other side of the box on wheels. "Excuse me for a second young master." Ross then departed out of the side door and ran towards the front of the carriage.
In a hushed voice, Ross started to yell at the man on the rains for a good minute before returning. The sun had also begun to shift for the afternoon. Highlighting the large city walls to their peak exhibit.
"Young Master, there seems to be some difficulty with this town. The locals have blocked the road up ahead with a few wagons and detouring around will take several hours." He then reached for a small satchel full of parchment.
Sebastian just starred at Ross with a blank expression as he was not use to affairs like this in the slightest.
Seeing the young man's reaction, Ross started walking towards the barricade. "I will make an attempt to clarify what is going so please stay put."
Watching this ancient man leave, Sebastian got his belongings together and made his way out next to Ross. "Let's go together then, I want to see how you handle this dilemma."
Ross shook his head and let out a long sigh. He knew very well that by now, when the young master decided to do something, he would remain head strong until it was done. "Very well, just please do not tell your uncle. He gave me a stern talking to the last time."
Sebastian smiled at Ross as they continued to the main gate.

Meanwhile at the Southside of the Town of Foxtail:
"Boss Chowder, we have secured the West side of town for the effort!" A scrawny scout reported in with his tattered outfit. They were both in a small war tent just outside the Southern wall of the city.
The tower of a man and a Captain of the liberation effort, Chowder, looked at the youth and grinned as he heard the report. "How are our troops to the Northern and Central districts?"
The scout laughed a little as he heard the inquiry. He started to gesture on a table map before them. "They are concentrating the defensive measures at the City Hall here in the North, but have also blockaded the Northern gate from us to halt any reinforcements. I estimate that they only have a few guards left in this area."
after the scout finished his report, Chowder dispatched the man to investigate the East city.

After Ross and Sebastian had crossed within 100 feet of the barricade, a voice cried from the wagon barricade. "Stop or our archers will shoot you!" Fear and misfortune resounded within his tone.

Hearing this, Ross howled back at the man. "If you shoot this young master, it will be to the gallows with you. Harming a n.o.ble is punishable by death!" Sebastian could only chuckle at Ross' ire as he had not seen it in a long time.
The man from the barricade paused collected himself and then dispatched a runner. Tripping along the soft dirt road, the small youth had finally made his way to Ross and Sebastian.
He reached out and gave a high bow to Sebastian. "Sir, our Captain wished for me to validate your house emblem before we let you in sir. Today is not the best of days in our small city." Seeing this, Seb displayed his emblem to the boy.
Scanning the horizon, he had noticed some smoke around the opposite end of the town. "What had happened here?" Sebastian then sheathed his emblem back into his pocket.
The boy had let out a low whimper and then pointed at the gate. "I don't know your lordship. Bandits have attacked us early this week and have yet to stop. Guard Captain Ramos may be able to tell you more sir, if you would like to follow me."
Bandit attacks where not unusual in this area, but Sebastian had never heard of any such report in which they had occupied a large town like Foxtail. Sebastian then hastened his stride and started to follow the young boy to the gate. Just who was this Guard Captain and how did his city fall to heathens?
