The next morning, when he opened his eyes, he stretched quickly. His mind was completely clear. Aldarion stretched a little and stared at the ceiling with a relaxed posture while smiling. Aldarion was happy at that moment.
Since he had arrived in Middle Earth, Aldarion had not had a quiet day. Some would think that the day he was at the Tunnelly farm, but that day he was so nervous about all the changes that he really could not be relaxed. Also, that day absorbed the knowledge of a whole book, it is normal not to be able to rest completely.
Therefore, Aldarion was relaxing, lying on the bed for a while while remembering his trip since he met G.o.d and arrived here.
While Aldarion was getting a little melancholy, a knock on the door sounded and the elf Erumäre entered the room with what appeared to be breakfast.
Aldarion seeing who was, he sat up quickly and nervously indicated that she should enter. Erumäre entered and left the tray with food on the table next to the bed and was about to leave.
"As soon as you finish eating and getting ready, Lord Cirdan will be waiting for you in the library." When Aldarion thought he was not going to get a single word from her she was saddened a little but just before leaving the door she spoke.
"Thank you my lady Erumäre. I just have one question. What do you mean by fixing me? I just have these worn traveler's clothes."
Automatically she answered him. "You have new clothes in that closet, I hope you feel good." Without further ado she said goodbye and left.
Aldarion was happy, he had managed to talk to her. Even that, when she spoke, she had her back to him. But if he considered it this was already an advance. Aldarion knew that he had to walk with feet of lead, especially if she really had a trauma as big as Cirdan said.
Aldarion did not waste any more time and had breakfast. Then, he got up and washed a little in the water basin prepared for that. And after finishing washing, he opened the closet and found several linen clothes of different colors that, in his opinion, were of very good quality.
He picked up the first set of clothes that he liked, got dressed and went to the library. The only problem he had was that he did not know where he was. Erumäre forgot to mention it and he forgot to ask her why he had to wander the corridors until he found someone who could indicate the address.
Finally, after a while, Aldarion arrived at the library and what awaited him inside was Elven King Cirdan with a very serious face and a look that indicated he was waiting for an explanation.
"You're late." He said.
"I am very sorry, my Lord Cirdan, but I got lost." Aldarion replied.
"You got lost? I told Erumäre to show you the way. So, what excuse do you have?" He scolded her.
Aldarion who did not want to blame Erumäre, simply bowed his head and apologized without making any excuse. Cirdan scolded him for a few more minutes until he calmed down and then began to teach him.
"Well first I want you to read these books about the history of the world, its origin, the first age and those that happened to it now." Cirdan ordered as he handed him a stack of history books.
Seeing this, Aldarion became depressed because he did not think that in his new life he had to read so many books, but at that moment he realized something. "My Lord Cirdan, if it's about the history of Middle Earth I know everything."
Listening to what Aldarion said, Cirdan looked at him with an interrogative expression as if he could not believe it. "Show me then."
"It's okay." Aldarion started telling him everything he knew about Arda's story. On Ilúvatar and the Valar, on the Age of the Trees; On the First Age and the War of the Elves and Melkor; on the Second Age, the Kingdom of Númenor and Sauron; and of course about the Third Age, the War of the Last Alliance and the fall of Arnor.
Aldarion was talking to Cirdan about history all morning and the Elf King had no choice but to admit that as far as the history subject Aldarion was approved.
The only thing was that he did not understand how Aldarion knew all those things, but decided not to investigate the subject. 'At least he knows something.' He thought.
When they finished talking and Cirdan told him how impressed he was and that he had pa.s.sed the course, Cirdan told him he could retire and go eat. He also told him that in the afternoon he would have fencing and archery cla.s.ses.
Of course Cirdan was not going to give him these lessons. The captain of his personal guard, Feladrias, would take care of this. Cirdan was a scholar and an artisan, he was not a warrior so he could not teach Aldarion much.
When the end of the lesson became official a notification of the system sounded in Aldarion's head.
"Ding! System notification: new mission added 'Pa.s.s Cirdan exams'."
"Exams: History (Pa.s.sed), Government (Not Pa.s.sed), Art (Not Pa.s.sed), Strategy (Not Pa.s.sed)."
"Ding! Congratulations, the user has successfully pa.s.sed the history test demonstrating their knowledge about the history of Middle Earth. Reward: +500 experience points, +10 reputation points."
That was the last notification that Aldarion received from the system. Pleased by the experience received, Aldarion went to his room to eat while thinking about the next exams he has to pa.s.s and in the lesson he has to receive from Feladrias in the afternoon.
