Rewrite System 50 Do Not Feed The Slimes

The creature is round and looks squishy and if it has eyes, Vayne is sure the creature would be staring at them. Actually, it was the only slime that 'turn' and face them rather than running away and/or hide like the others.

He felt a bit out of element here, the current floor looks like some medieval castle underground dungeon in all angles except without cellblocks and skeleton of a random dead person.

But that's not why he felt that way, it was because of the slimes, he had been so used to the goo like acidic slimes that he wants to cast a spell and destroy them but these round, cute, water drop like slimes doesn't even try to hurt him nor the thing makes him confused as to how to act. Most especially to this slime just shaking ever so slightly while 'looking' at him.

After what seemed like hours he finally nods and walked around the little creature, he had decided to ignore and dismissed the memory of it.

"What are you doing?" Turning around he looked straight at what the thing is cradling in its arms, it was the white slime.

"Collecting samples?" Tilting its head, It answered back uncertainly.

Holding back a groan he smiled and ask "you know that's a living creature right?" The thing nods.

"So you know it can't be stored in our inventory right?" It nods again.

"So can you elaborate by what you meant as collecting samples?"

"Master has always taken parts or organs out of monsters and plants in previous floors before absorbing them, so Val figured that taking Shiro with us is the correct choice." It answered with excitement in its eyes this time, almost like a puppy begging for praise.

Vayne, unable to resist the look, just pat it's head for a brief moment, unable to scold here for taking random pets before continuing onwards.

Through the twist and turns of the dungeon, all the slime keeps running away while those that hide decide to follow behind them, something he hopes he did not notice as it looks like almost over a hundred of those colorful round things.

He wished badly to whatever higher power is in this world but seems like they turn a deaf ear to him since after he climbed up the stairs, he was greeted by a ma.s.sive group of slimes near small tiny straw huts that seems to be their home.

This time the slimes just stare at him as the slimes behind him caught up from climbing the stairs and join the crowd surrounding him.

He turns to his side to look at the thing and the slime in its hands and wonder if this is its fault but soon push that thought aside and took a carrot out.

The description for the herb is actually thousand-year heal root but no matter how he sees it, it is just a carrot.

He threw the carrot to the side, hoping the slime would disperse and let him pa.s.s, but instead the carrot was caught by one of the slimes there and a small slime fight started over the carrot, while the rest start inching closer to him.

Thinking maybe that was not enough, Vayne took out and threw more carrots around, like before the slimes caught and fight for them but this time they did not just inch closer, they completely swarmed him and drown him in a sea of moist and soft b.a.l.l.s.

He did not dislike the feeling tho, just a bit overwhelmed by them. Seeing no harm he keeps throwing carrots, he could get used to this floor is what he thought as he smiles like an idiot.

There would be a problem for normal people to do this though as being swarmed like this would block off oxygen and kill a person. Someone should put a do not feed the slimes sign around here.

After spending more than two hundred carrots, the slime finally calms down and went their own way.

"Master, please also feed Shiro." It asks from the side, completely untouched by the slimes.

"Yes yes here." Casually taking out another carrot, he throws it for the slime but instead of catching it like the others, it just stay there are the carrot bounces off its smooth surface.

Seeing that, Vayne was confused but also intrigued, so he starts trying to feed it random things from his items. Roots, leaves, gra.s.ses, fruits, plant barks, branches, and even mushrooms littered the floor around them after some hours of trial with little to no progress.

Seeing nothing works, Vayne ponders for a while before taking out a ceramic bottle filled with a healing potion, the potion he had to keep making for the daily mission until it reaches high purity.

"If this doesn't work, I'll give up." He said as he opened the cap and pour the content onto the slime.

The moment the green liquid touched the smooth white surface, it looked almost like how ink poured into water as the green liquid bloomed inside the slime before slowly dissipate into nothing.

The slime or Shiro then let out what sound like a happy hum. Guess that did the trick?

Satisfied, Vayne was about to collect what he threw earlier only to stop mid-turn, everything that was around them is gone and he could see some slimes slowly rolls the stuff away in the distance.

Shaking his head, he gestured to the thing to continue walking and explore the place.

Since the creatures here seem peaceful, he might as well take this as a vacation.
