Back at the dojo, Alex was busy practicing the Painful Vibrations. It took him another two weeks to finally ring the sixth chime, but after that he wasn't able to progress any further at all.
Sighing, he decided to tale a break. In past few days he had been toying with the white sand he had obtained from the Family Alliance. As he manipulated energy within his body along the same circulatory pathway of the white sand that he sensed using Energy Affinity, he found an interesting phenomenon take place with the sand.
The sand actually began to sit on his hand like it was affected by a magnetic field and formed an arrow, pointing towards a direction. But then, the arrow began rotating around its center as if it wasn't able to function.
The first thing that popped up in Alex's mind was a compa.s.s needle. "Is this sand some kind of navigation tool? But it doesn't seem to work properly here. Perhaps... I have to try it out later in the card dimension." Alex nodded.
At that moment, he heard a knock on the door to the dojo. Alex kept the sand back in the bottle and opened the door to see a stunningly beautiful woman with green hair he had never seen before.
Although Alex was momentarily stunned, he held his breath and calmed himself. "How may I help you?" Alex asked.
"I thought I told you I'd come to visit." The girl spoke plainly.
"...Nia?" Alex asked in shock.
The girl nodded and entered the dojo. "So you live here?"
But Alex was still stuck on the previous shocking revelation. "No wonder you dress like a ninja. Everyone will go crazy in the card dimension seeing a beauty like you!" Alex said.
Nia's face flushed a slight pink. "I didn't expect you to be so rascally. Is that your real nature?"
Alex coughed. "Well, I was just speaking my mind. Uhh.. yeah, I live here now. This dojo belongs to an old man, I guess he can be called my teacher, though it was never made formal or anything."
Nia nodded. "I can feel your life signature all over the dojo." She turned towards the bell. "Did you spend the last few weeks constantly hitting this bell?"
Alex nodded. "I was practicing an ancient art I got from the adventure house."
"What exactly do you have to do?" Nia asked.
"Well, don't interrupt when I fall." Alex said.
Alex walked to the bell, planked his feet into the ground and punched at the bell which began moving wildly and rang loudly six times. However, Alex immediately suffered a backlash and blown back to the ground where he grovelled in crazy amounts of pain, but the Light Aura filled his body, helping him heal.
Nia was initially worried, but then she sensed the rapid improvement of Alex's healing body and was surprised.
"There is such a powerful ancient art in the adventure house?" She wondered with surprise.
After five minutes, Alex stood up and coughed some blood. Then he felt better and nodded.
"This is what you used to kill that Tree didn't you?" Nia asked. "I could sense your body actually improve a little in real time. Can I try it out?"
Alex raised an eye. "Are you sure? Wait, let me get a high quality healing medicine."
Nia scoffed at Alex underestimating her. She stood in front of the bell. Using all of her power of a peak card apprentice, she punched hard at the bell.
However, the next moment she opened her eyes, she saw a huge amount of light aura entering her body, and what she saw further shocked her. Her internal body had suffered considerable damage. Alex was sitting beside her and healing her.
"I warned you. You couldn't handle the pain and blanked out." Alex shook his head. "If my ability didn't accelerate healing within the body you would've been seriously injured."
"I... blacked out" Nia asked in shock. Alex nodded with a smile. "It's okay. Just try to guide your Life energy to heal your body."
After a couple of hours Nia was finally able to get up, but she still felt weak. Alex nodded. "You must be feeling hungry from the healing. Let's head out to eat."
Nia didn't move. "How many times did I make the bell ring?" She asked.
Alex was dumbfounded and didn't know how to answer. "... zero times."
"...." Nia shut up.
The two then went to a restaurant near by which had high nutrition food.
Nia was shocked by the food. "This food is so spicy!"
"You don't like it? We can look for another place." Alex said.
"...I meant I liked it." Nia said.
"Oh, good. You don't eat a lot of spicy food?" Alex asked.
"No. The food prepared at my place is very bland." Nia said.
After food, Alex and Nia walked around the city. "How did you think of visiting me?" Alex asked.
"I just felt like seeing where you live." Nia said.
"Why? Did you find anything special?" Alex laughed.
"The place you live at is normal. But I am even more confused. Your life energy, it feels so unique. I feel attracted to it." Nia said matter of factly.
"Oh... is that a roundabout confession?" Alex laughed, but inwardly he wondered what she meant. Could she perhaps sense his base card? Or was it that his life energy was different because he was not from this world?
"It would be a confession if your life energy had any personality." Nia rebuked.
"Hey... are you saying I don't have a personality?" Alex acted offended. "I thought I'm a pretty good guy."
Nia laughed. Alex eyes lit up. "Your laugh is pretty beautiful."
Nia ignored his comment, but she became more conscious of her laugh internally.
Alex changed the topic. "I'm thinking of returning to the Card Dimension. I'm having a bottleneck when it comes to hitting bells."
Nia nodded. "The kids in your neighborhood woll be happy. I could hear all the kids murmuring about the legend of a bell banging boy in fear while looking towards your dojo."
Alex sighed with a tragic face. "No wonder. The kids always looked at me in fear when I went for my morning run."
