w.a.n.g Hao ended the tour with Bai Yaling. He found she was a little tired, so took her to the open pavilion and made her sit on a chair.

The servant brought the fresh water and placed the tray on the table. He poured the water into a gla.s.s and handed it to Bai Yaling. She took the gla.s.s and started to drink the water. After she finished, w.a.n.g Hao took the gla.s.s from her and put it back on the tray. The servant walked away while w.a.n.g Hao took out a handkerchief from his pocket.

He got on one knee and wiped the forehead of Bai Yaling. She clutched her dress and gazed into his eyes. "Pregnancy is making you tired. Forgive me, for making you walk so much," w.a.n.g Hao said and put his hand down. He put the handkerchief inside his pocket.

Bai Yaling looked around and said, "General w.a.n.g's house is lovely. There is something I want to know from General w.a.n.g. Hopefully, he will not get angry."

w.a.n.g Hao got confused when he heard that. "What does the Princess want to ask me?" He queried her.

"Why doesn't General w.a.n.g sit on the chair first? It seems inappropriate to me that he's on the floor," Bai Yaling said humbly. w.a.n.g Hao stood up and sat on the chair beside her.

"Is it good now?" He asked her.

Bai Yaling nodded her head.

"General w.a.n.g, I heard that your younger sister pa.s.sed away a long time ago. Forgive me, if I sounded rude," she immediately lowered her eyes as the smile from w.a.n.g Hao's lips disappeared.

"Does Princess Bai want to know about my sister?" w.a.n.g Hao asked her.

Bai Yaling lifted her eyes and nodded her head. "If you feel comfortable to share with me, there is no compulsion," Bai Yaling stated.

w.a.n.g Hao hummed. "Yin Na is also my younger sister. I met her during the years of the military campaign with the former Emperor. I rescued her and called her my sister. However, I made a mistake at that time," w.a.n.g Hao stated.

"What kind of mistake, General w.a.n.g?" Bai Yaling questioned him.

"I sent her to her original brother, but then he sold her and she ended up in a brothel house," w.a.n.g Hao said.

Bai Yaling slightly widened her eyes.

"What is Princess Bai thinking?" w.a.n.g Hao asked her.

"You are a man with high morals. It is tough to find such a man," Bai Yaling complimented him in an informal tone.

w.a.n.g Hao smiled a little. "My mother and father should be praised for inculcating these values in me," he stated.

"Usually men don't think about women especially if she's not from a n.o.ble family. Those lives hardly matter, but General w.a.n.g embraced an unknown person. It is truly admirable," Bai Yaling a.s.serted.

"The loss of my younger sister was grave to me. Yin Na filled that gap of sister in my life. I called her my sister the day I saw her, and as her elder brother, it was my duty to save her no matter what. She was ten at that time and I still remember, she called me Brother. It was such a nice feeling," w.a.n.g Hao said with a bright smile.

"In my life, I can do anything for two women– One is my sister and the other is Princess Bai," w.a.n.g Hao then said.

Bai Yaling's heart fluttered a little upon hearing that statement. She recalled how w.a.n.g Hao tied the pendant around her neck. His feelings were genuine for her.

"Does General w.a.n.g's father know that I am already pregnant?" The answer to this question was extremely important to her.

"Yes, Princess Bai. In fact, my entire family knows," w.a.n.g Hao replied. "When I told my Father, he said that he will get to see a grandchild too. He will truly be happy if Princess Bai agrees to marry me," w.a.n.g Hao said with a confident tone.

Bai Yaling smiled and stood up from the chair. She went towards the railing that was made around the pavilion. w.a.n.g Hao walked to her.

"What happened? Why did you come here?" w.a.n.g Hao inquired from her.

"General w.a.n.g, I want to look at that pond," Bai Yaling said. "I remember the day when you saved me. I had given up on my life completely, but your words bothered me a lot." She shifted her gaze towards him.

w.a.n.g Hao was still not able to understand her words.

"I sincerely want to thank General w.a.n.g once again for saving my life and the life inside me," Bai Yaling stated. She took off the pendant from her neck that w.a.n.g Hao had given to her when he stopped her.

"Don't do this," w.a.n.g Hao urged her.

Bai Yaling took a step towards w.a.n.g Hao and put it back in General w.a.n.g's neck. "It's right place is in your neck, not mine. Your Father gave it for your success.. I cannot take it, but I surely want to become his," Bai Yaling stated and put her hands down.
