"Let me f.u.c.king go!" I snarled at Zavier while he sneered at me and released me as if I was a disease. My eyes were dark with anger for being ruthlessly kicked out of my mate's room and I felt my demon edging out of the confines of my mind.
Cade was pleading for me to challenge the large male who fearlessly threw a prince out of a room.
"Calm down, Prince Dareios," Zavier growls, calling me by my true name. I narrowed my eyes as if daring the Alpha, knowing he would stop me from returning to the little wee woman in there. The little wee woman who droved Cade so insane that his insatiable desires were influencing me... or so I believed.
"It's Dylan here. I am no prince in this realm." I ground out making him chuckle and roll his eyes. It seemed like my anger had caused all of these people to laugh, only infuriates me more.
"Of course, Prince Dareios. Your 'realm' is relentless in finding you and Princess Kayleigh." Zavier comments out loud, clearly my parents searching for us. It seems like they were trying to contact all of the leaders around the area of our departure in order to find us.
Truly hilarious in my opinion since we had opened the realm door in Pairs, hence my sister's name.
She loved the city of love.
But I did not because I'd seen more crime there than love, ironic in my opinion.
However, I am one to see the gla.s.s 'half empty'.
"We go by our human names, Alpha Zavier. Now I want back in to see the wee woman." I told him, taking a step towards the door as he stepped in front of the door and shook his head swiftly.
I could tell that this wasn't his decision, but his loyalty to his once a.s.sa.s.sin mate has him following orders blindly. Once again, the irony of their relationship and the situation only humoring me.
That was sarcasm.
"My mate and mother are working to repair the girl's sight. You must give them time, also she flinched away from your touch. If it wasn't for your persistence, I'd say you both weren't mates." He simply says, watching me closely with sharp green eyes that seemed unnatural to his dark aura.
His words both angered and comforted me.
I hated that I was mated with a little wee woman like that Khole girl, however, it angered me that he a.s.sumed such a thing just because she flinched away from me.
I would never admit it, but I was upset when she flinched away from me. I was hurt at the thought of what happened to her though at the same time I was p.i.s.sed that she cowered away from my touch.
"It's not like I want to be mates with the little wee girl. She doesn't deserve me, no less a prince." I grumble under my breath, my hands clenched to my side when Zavier's eyes shifted into dark slits.
"If you don't want her, reject her and leave. In my opinion, I pray you do because someone like you doesn't deserve love. No less than a small, wee girl as you say." He admits angrily surprising me but angering my demon. I tamped him down, gritting my teeth before marching away from him in angry steps.
Why out of all the people her?!
I had to be mated to the tiny, faye witch that had a dark history!
I was into tough girls, not weak ones!
And Khole is like the weakest one on the human surface!

I ran my fingers through my hair once again, staring at the witches lounging around lazily and seeing Nava with two older mages. She smiled brightly at them, twirling in the outfit that hugged her curves ever so perfectly.
My chest tightened, despair filling my senses since I didn't feel the mate bond with the powerful woman. Her creamy dark skin had glazed over the scars over her arms and legs which were oddly attractive to me for some odd reason.
She stumbled forward, the man catching her before she could fall to the ground. Clearly, she was no used to wearing a boot heel, but the look was breathtaking on her.
I sighed deeply, thumping my fingers on the table before my demon growled at me for looking at Nava with longing.
'You b.a.s.t.a.r.d. Stop staring at her like a piece of meat at a market! We've already got our priceless meat somewhere else! And she's tender and tiny for us!' My demon, Cade, snapped with an annoyed tone making me roll my eyes and look away from Nava.
'You see her like something you can buy at the store, Cade. Plus that girl is too small for me and not my type.' I told him with an aggravated growl causing a few people to look my way before scurrying away.
'I plan to go shopping for our wee woman once I get control. She will be prettier than this Navalina you fantasize about.' My demon growls when I shook my head and ran my hand through my hair once again.
'You really are-
"Dylan. What are you doing down here? I never see you here anymore." Nava cut through Cade and I's argument, my heart pounding as I jumped out of my seat and nearly fall on the ground. Her closeness scaring me and for a moment, I felt strange dread fill me.
"Oh, nothing. I was just hanging out." I lie, hoping she didn't catch my nervousness but she was such a good detective. Staring into her kind eyes had made my thoughts wander to the wee witch that I was mated to, her features more approving than Nava's.
Wait...
What the f.u.c.k?!
"Oh, I'm sure. Hanging out alone and all." She teased, tilting her head and looking around us. "I heard from a little birdie that you found a mate, Khole right?" Nava asks, my heart dropping at the question as I swallowed down the tightness in my throat.
"I wouldn't say that..." I murmur more to myself, my demon snarling and taking control of my body. The sudden gust of power shocked the h.e.l.l out of me as he straightened his back and cracked his knuckles.
"What do you mean? Are you saying-"
"Sorry for Dylan's words. I am Cade and yes, Khole is our mate and I plan to cherish her with anything she desires. However, I need your help in order to see her once again. I've found out she is afraid of men and I wish to be close to her. Could you help me, Navalina?" Cade questions Nava when I snarled and pushed for control but failed miserably.
He wasn't letting up until he sees Khole, and I wanted nothing more than Nava to sense I didn't want to see the wee woman.
She smiled brightly, grasping my hands and nodding. "I will help you, Cade. But in order for this to work, you need to follow everything I say okay? She needs to see you on the same on her level in order for this to work, you need to follow everything I say. Got it." Cade smiled happily as I snarled loudly, not wanting to see the pathetic excuse of my mate.
"Lead the way, Navalina." She nods, glancing over her shoulder and motioning them to wait for her. Nava lead me up the stairs in the general direction where Khole was as I cursed at Cade with everything I had. He ignored me though, a silly grin plastered on his face at the thought of seeing Khole once again.
Something I would never understand.
She stank and look horrible, nothing a Prince deserved.
f.u.c.k Zavier for saying what he did, he knew that Khole was graced by my presence.
"Hey, Khole? This is Nava, the girl from the dungeons." Nava knocked softly on the door when there was a crash behind us. Both of us sharing curious expressions.
"The sad girl? Oh, y-yes. Give m-me a moment, I'm tr-trying to..." There was a small click before the door opened revealing the most gorgeous purple-eyed girl. "Oh, g-G.o.d! Why is th-there a man?!" She screeches, slamming the door shut, the click returning.
Ok... That was kinda cute.
Cade was about to say something but Nava covered his mouth and shook her head at him. He c.o.c.ked an eyebrow at her as she let him go and knocked on the door again.
"I know you're afraid of men, Khole. But I brought Cade because he is much like you." She told her, listening to her from within the room before the locked clicked back open. Khole shakingly opened the door again, peeking out of the door and raking her eyes up and down me.
The action making Cade growl in pride and happiness earning a terrified look from her.
"W-Why'd you br-bring him? I don't-t like men-n." She mumbles, ready to shut the door in our faces once again while Nava smiled at the girl.
"Cade is a lot like you. He's mute and doesn't have many friends. I thought introducing you both would be nice. Since you both are kind of loners. No offense." Nava chuckled to herself when Khole ran her eyes down me once again, hiding everything but her eyes and the strand of luscious blond hair dangling from her face.
If she wasn't a wee witch, I'd ravage her here.
Wait...
What the f.u.c.k?!
"M-Mute? A loner? He d-doesn't look like anyone who is a loner." She mumbles to us, her words making Cade smirk and hold his hand out. Khole edged the door more shut, the rejection of his hand not affecting Cade in the slightest bit.
"Give him a chance. He really is a nice guy. He may not be a loner, but he is isolated because he can not speak. I was hoping you both could be friends. Cade is my friend, you can trust him." Nava a.s.sures her while Khole gave me one more look over and nodded, still terrified.
"Okay, N-Nava. I'll t-trust you. I guess you b-both can come in-n. I'm just getting-g prepared t-to go and start some k-kind of training-g. Faye told me th-they w-were going to test my m-magical ab-ability." Khole tells us, opening her door to us while Nava walked in first.
We both saw the small table and a painting on the ground as if someone tossed them there. Nava and I shared a look when Khole blushed and hurried to the table.
"S-Sorry. I didn't mean to d-do this. I was leaving the restroom-m when I heard the knock. It-t startled-d me so I accidentally kn-knocked it down..." She mumbles, clearly embarra.s.sed as I watched her small blond curls pool over her shoulder before lifting the table. Nava stabbed my stomach, motioning me to help her.
Cade hurried to her side, helping set the table back against the wall while taking the painting from her. Her large purple eyes seemed unnatural but they were so gorgeous I even felt myself growing restless to just openly stare at her.
d.a.m.n it!
This is why I didn't want to come here!
"Th-Thank you." She mumbles with a small smile as Cade propped the painting on the wall. Khole turned away from me, walking to the bedside and grabbing the set of bandages before looking at Nava. "Could-d you-"
"Of course." Nava grabbed the wrap, motioning her to sit down on the bed while I felt myself itching to ask what was wrong with her. But I couldn't since Cade had promised to go along with what Nava said.
Which was to play mute.
That son of a bi-
"I don't understand why you'd want to wear this. Faye told me your eyesight was fine." Nava said as she finished wrapping the bandage around Khole's eyes. Her shoulders were a little more relaxed than before I glanced around, not seeing many things that belonged to her.
Maybe Cade was right...
We should take her shopping or introduce her to online shopping.
"Don't-t you know the saying? Wh-What you can't see won't scare you. I've learned that if I can't see it, I will be s-safe. Even though th-that is idiotic, it's how I-I survived these last few years-s." She told her, standing up and brushing her palm on the nightstand for something.
I wasn't sure whether to be annoyed or pitiful for her explanation but I would- couldn't say a word about it.
At times, I truly hated Nava.
"Do you need help going down the stairs? Faye is just getting something to eat and then they're gonna a.s.sess your magic." Nava asks her, resting a soft palm on Khole's forearm and making her flinch away from the unexpected touch. I clenched my fists in tight b.a.l.l.s, hating her fear but not having the choice of soothing her with soft words.
Nava spared a glance over at Cade, who was still in control and motioned him over to her and Khole.
"I should-d be alright. I-I can walk f-fine." Khole a.s.sures Nava before running into a table. Her cheeks flamed with embarra.s.sment, the sight making my whole body clench with awe at the sight of warm pinkness spreading over her lovely cheeks.
She may be the most-
No!
Bad, Dylan.
I must reject a low being such as her. She's not worthy of me.
But... She is so d.a.m.ned adorable...
"You can just hold onto me. I won't touch you at all." She tells Khole once again, motherly worry settling in for the witch that saved her from pain. Or so everyone is saying.
"I..." She closed her mouth, gnawing at her bottom lip. The action nearly making Cade swear every curse word he knew, but he kept his mouth shut just as Nava instructed him. "D-Dylan won't be there, right?"
