Today I told Nava and Cade that I would like to do some training with Faye and the other witches. Nava was so ecstatic but Cade looked unsure since he was worried about people harming me in any way.
Though I would be walking out there blind once again, I'd have Cade on my side and he'd never leave me. He would protect me from everyone.
Though Dylan would be there or so I was told.
Nava told me that he was like a lightning rod for my power because of what happened before, though I was sure that Cade could do the same. I wouldn't mind hurting Dylan instead.
Currently, I was changing into an outfit that would help bring out my powers and protect me from the coldness outside. Cade was waiting outside of my room and waiting for me to tell him when to wrap my eyes once again.
He didn't quite like that I was training, but he didn't comment about it. Letting me do what I wished and supporting me even if he disagreed about my decision about learning to defend myself.
Cade may be my protector, but who is his?
Who will protect him when he has fallen?
Who will it be?
I tightened the belt around me, smiling to myself at the thought of me defending him. Little me protecting the big demon.
Cute.
Cade entered into the room with a soft knock at the sound of my laughter, smiling softly at me while I handed him the bandage for my eyes. He frowned at it but followed my directions, pushing me on the bed so he could wrap it correctly.
"D-Do you think I-I will hit Dylan-n again?" I ask excitedly causing a soft laugh to leave him. He shrugged above me, not saying a word when I tilted my head after he tied off the wrap around my eyes. "Can you say a word? Anything?" I ask, needing this simple pleasure as he sighed and took a few steps away from me.
I knew it was rude to continue asking him to say something to him, but I've already done so much that's been out of my comfort zone. I just wished to hear a word.
Anything.
"Are you just ready? My Luna and her mother are awaiting us. We are doing the training secession somewhere more private. Dylan won't be able to come this time but I'm sure Cade doesn't mind being the test dummy." Nava tells us when I heard Cade scoff in annoyance.
Somewhere private?
"Th-That sounds nice. How l-long will it-t take?" I ask her, standing up and reaching for Cade's hand blindly. He shuffles, taking my outstretched hand and squeezing it.
"Well. Since it is a nice day and you haven't seen the forest around here. We were going on a hike. You alright with that?" Nava asks me rather than tells me when I nodded and squeezed his hand back.
"Nothing w-wrong here. But t-tell me on-once we leave the area s-so I can actually see the environment-t around m-me." I tell her with a soft voice and leaned into Cade's warmth. He wrapped an arm around me, letting me indulge in his ever so lovely scent like we did last night.
Oh, how we slept together last night...
I thought it was a dream at first but waking up to the most glorious sight had made me both fl.u.s.tered and embarra.s.sed. Not that I regret it since the sight of him with beat red cheeks had made me feel completely better.
Did Nava know about what happened last night?
Did she know we kissed?
Both questions had me blushing crazily and holding onto his hand tightly. Cade chuckled, rubbing my back softly while Nava laughed and walked away from us.
"Come on. We should head down since everyone is waiting for us." Nava says as Cade pulled me along and followed Nava. I didn't see a thing but I'd gladly place my trust in this man.
He was everything I had.
We walked downstairs, several voices speaking down below making me cower a little and press myself more against Cade. He held me tighter, growling at someone who was coming closer before we left the home and entered into the warm rays of sunshine.
It felt so lovely that I forgot to even walk, it'd been so long since I felt their rays and yet I would prefer being anywhere where Cade was. Even if that meant a deep and dark hole.
The imagine of seeing him such of those made me cackle with laughter when I was poked in the cheek by a warm sparked finger. I knew that with him near me, I could do anything I wished.
〰 Dylan 〰
I watched her mess with the small flower I picked off the tree for her, her bright purple eyes looking around the forest in pure wonder and excitement. It felt so wonderful to watch her point out a frog or dragonfly going by.
It was as if she had never seen them in her life.
So for the next twenty or so minutes, Nava, her mate, Khole and I stood around. Khole would point at an insect or animal and Nava would tell her all she knew about it. Levi stood on the other side of me, letting the ladies grow more acquainted.
I knew that both, Levi and Zavier were at first wary of me coming on the trip but were soon surprised when Khole had made me give her a piggyback ride. She seemed like a child, happy to grab leaves far too high off the ground.
I knew that Dawn and Ian were still angry about me nearly killing the witches that threatened her, but once they knew the story. They didn't blame me but had told me that it was best to make it look like I got punished so the others wouldn't do the same thing I did.
Which I understood.
They barely even touched me yet Khole made it such a big deal and insisted on cleaning my bruises. So I was more than happy to be 'punished' if it meant for her to be my nurse once again.
"Wh-What's that!" She pointed at a small bunny while it stared at her for a split moment and tilted its head at her. "I-It's so c-cute," Khole says with a squeal when it jumped at her. I chuckled at her, reaching down for the bunny who was trying to squirm out of my hold.
"That's a bunny. We keep them as pets but this bunny is a wild one. He lives in the forest along with the rest of his family." Nava tells her, petting the fluff ball in my hands while nodding to her. "You can pet the bunny. It won't hurt you." She a.s.sures Khole as I saw Khole looking at me in question.
Pride swelled within me when nodding to her, agreeing with Nava.
Khole reached out, petting the bunny softly and giggling when it nearly jumped out of my hold again. I could tell she wanted to hold it so I stepped forward and let her hold the squirming beast.
"Th-Thanks." She murmurs, to interested in the bunny in her hands while we started walking once again. Khole focused entirely on the animal in her hold, staring at it like it was her world.
I'm definitely going to get her one of these next I pa.s.s by a pet store.
Nava returned to her mate, holding his hand in a relaxed smile. It was only then that I saw Nava more as a sister rather than someone I wanted to be involved in. The relief of seeing her in such a way made me smile and wrap an arm around Khole's shoulders.
"C-Can I keep it?" Khole asks me, her big purple looking at mine in a silent plea when I smiled softly and nodded.
She can keep it but I wouldn't do anything if it ran away. Of course, she'd be upset but then I'd just take her to Pet Smart or something and let her pick a tame one.
We'd have to go there either way since the bunny needed a cage and food.
"I-I think I want t-to call him B-Bell." She says excitedly, the light brown bunny nibbling on my coat that Khole was wearing making me frown.
That's my favorite jacket...
"O-Or maybe I'll call him-m Cole. H-Half my n-name and half yours-s." She corrects, looking at me for approval as I smiled and nodded in acceptance. I truly didn't care what she called the thing, but the thought of having our name joint and called the bunny made me feel warm.
We walked in silence, all her attention on the bunny nestled in her arms while Dawn and Ian spoke quietly in front of us. Levi was walking alone, clear that his mate was out and scouting ahead of all of us while Zavier carried his very pregnant mate.
All of us were surprised when she demanded to come and who are we to refuse the demanding a.s.sa.s.sin?
Even though Zavier hated this, they compromised that she'd do the least amount of movement while he took care of everything for her. Now after a while of being with my Khole, I don't blame him from going after his arch-nemesis.
The mate bond cannot be ignored.
"Hold on," Zavier spoke, stopping and looking around him. Levi grew tense, seeing his mate running back to the group with heavy pants while shifting back quickly.
"Something doesn't feel right up there." She breath when Levi covered her with his cloak, pulling her spare clothes from their pack. "I couldn't scent anyone up there, but it feels like someone was there. Someone familiar." Nava tells us with a worried expression while Levi handed her the loose grey dress she always wore after shifting.

"F-Familiar?" Khole stutters frightened, no doubt thinking about her captor, Andrew.
"Mother. Could you return with the ladies? The rest of us will investigate." Zavier spoke to Dawn, setting his mate down on her feet as I nodded and pulled Khole to Faye.
"I will remain here," Nava spoke confidently though Levi brushed his hand on her cheek and shook his head.
"No, Nava. You may be pregnant with our child. I do not want you risking their life." He spoke softly and the news of their child made Faye and Zavier happy.
"Come now. We've never had s.e.x without condoms. I am not pregnant, do not play such games." She waved away while slipping her dress over her head and nodding to Khole. "You should head back with Dawn and Faye. It'll be safer." Nava tells Khole when Faye snickered at her words, Levi clearly embarra.s.sed at her openness.
"W-What about y-you?" Khole asks me, surprising me but an easy smile stretched on my face at her concern.
"He's fine. Come now." Dawn spoke rather harshly making me growl at her in a warning. Khole clutched onto the bunny, clearly debating with herself before she pressed her lips on the bunny and handed it to Faye.
"I-I will remain here to protect-t my Cade." She says confidently even though stuttering. We all stared at her shocked as I frowned and grabbed her arm. "I am staying," Khole says, shoving my hand off her arm and standing straighter. "Unless you h-have something to say about it-t?" Oh, the wee witch is playing games with me now...
We practically glared at each other, both of us daring the other to back down before she smirked and nodded.
"I th-thought so. Let us go then-n." She nods, brushing past me and starting in the direction that Nava came from. Nava glanced at me, snickering at the expression I had on my face when racing after Khole.
"I guess it's just the two of us, daughter. Contact me, Ivan." He nodded to Dawn before both of them disappeared. Zavier and Levi seemed pleased with Khole's sudden disobedience, knowing I wouldn't dare say a word but her challenge was irritating the living s.h.i.t out of me.
I followed behind quickly, watching the sway of her small hips walk angrily. Suddenly loving her aggressive side and curious whether she'd be this way in bed.
Though I couldn't help myself think about what could lay ahead.
Whether Nava's gut feeling was nothing or it was something bad waiting for us.
