The Alphas Used And Abused Mate 20 Ten: The Last Nigh

It was morning. The little bit of light that had seeped into the room from the holes in the wall made it perfectly clear. Daniel had been fidgeting with the lock for a few minutes before finally coming in, and walking over to me.

"Ready to go mouse?" He said as he kneeled down, taking off the shackle like it was nothing. I just didn't respond. It's not like I really have a choice on whether I want to go or not.

He glared down.

"I'm getting a feeling you're just trying to spite me now." He growled out.

"You can't spite what's already malice." I said, looking up at him blankly.

"You little..." He said as he grabbed my arm yanking me up then pushed me against the wall, his free hand wrapped around my throat, getting tighter and tighter until he realized what he was doing and dropped me from his grasp.

"G.o.d dammit..." He said, turning his back towards me, running his hands through his hair. I had stood up once again, holding my throat while regaining my breath.

"Do all of these mean nothing to you...." I said, exasperated. And he had looked over to me, then at all the pictures surrounding the room, different expressions crossing his face, hurt, anger, sadness. h.e.l.l I felt hurt watching his expressions.

"They might've hurt once, but not anymore sweetheart." He growled as he once again grabbed my arm, walking out of the room leaving. Whelp, so much for that.

Xanders POV

Alexi, Aaron and I had been walking for about 15 minutes, hoping to get to Willow Creek before Veronica and Daniel did. Veronica wanted me to be there in case anything went wrong and we had to chase him down in our wolf forms, to be quite frank I loved that part of her plan. The idea of getting to finally kill that b.a.s.t.a.r.d brought a smile to my face and at this point, I don't care if I sound crazy.

"There, they're coming." Alexi said in a whisper and I followed his gaze and saw the two. Daniel was dragging Veronica behind him, squeezing the c.r.a.p out of her arm before he shoved her against a tree and my blood was boiling. If Alexi hadn't grabbed me and shoved me back down in the bushes I would've messed this plan up. Daniels hand landed on V's hip and I could see her trying to swat his hand off her which led him to slapping her across the face so hard she fell to the gra.s.s and then a growl erupted from someone, but shockingly it wasn't me and I had looked to Aaron and Alexi but they shared the same look of confusion as I had on my face. Then we looked back over at the two and I noticed Veronica just got right up and reached in the tree then grabbed the revolver holding it up to Daniel while his back was turned.

Veronicas POV

I reached up into the tree and grabbed out the revolver and felt around for the matches, quickly shoving them into the pocket of my leggings. I kept my foot steps quiet and held the gun up to Daniel while his back was turned to me. 'Come on V, just one click and you can go back to Xander then I heard some rustling in the bushes and looked behind me as Xander was sitting there, ready to shift if need be. Then my wrist bent backwards as Daniel had taken the gun out of my hand, and spun me around to the point my back was towards him and he was holding me by the neck and I could feel my own face turn pale white as the barrel of the gun had rested on the side of my head.

"Come on out Xander! Your growling isn't exactly the most quiet thing in the world." He sneered. And I watched Xander emerge from the bushes as well as Alexi and Aaron, all three of them in their wolf forms as they had been staying low to the ground ready to attack then I heard the click of the safety on the gun.

"Come any closer and I have no problem shooting her pretty little head off." He said and Xander stopped in his tracks, a loud growl being released from his lips.

"See? I knew you were all bark and no bite. Just like a dog." He said and I could feel his famous smirk against my head.

"The pool!" I yelled out and they all just looked at me with confused looks on their faces.

"Daniel... You saved me in the pool. That time when the tree almost fell on me, so you threw me out of the way and then saved me from drowning in the pool..." I said, and the gun slowly moved away from my head. Xander had shifted back and watched his actions, Alexi and Aaron slowly doing the same thing.

"And that time Marie and I got in a fight and you had to pull me off her because almost tore her arm off. I should've f.u.c.king done it.. That b.i.t.c.h." I said growling as a small chuckle escaped his lips. Then the safety clicked again and the gun fired off, and my body froze as Daniels arm had released me and Xander came over to catch me before I fell, which I didn't even realize I was. Xander wrapped his arms around me and I felt the tears roll down my face as I looked over my shoulder at Daniels dead body.

*Three weeks later*

I smoothed a hand down my form fit black dress, then felt Xanders arm land on my hip as I turned back towards him.

"It's time to go.." He said softly as I nodded hesitantly and turned walking out of the bedroom. Becca met me at the door and took my hand, leaning her head on my shoulder as we walked out of the pack house. We walked all the way to Callahan Manor and I could see Adeline standing by the coffin before she turned to face us and the tears that were streaming down her face had ruined her mascara. She ran over to me and wrapped her arms around my body in a tight hug, and my arms landed around her.

"I'm so sorry babes..." I said as I felt her tears roll off my bare shoulders.

"It's alright... I just wish he didn't shoot himself.." She said as she lifted her head up and took my hand, walking over to six open chairs where we all sat down, and when I looked over that's when I saw the glares Abel and Marie had on their faces. But the disturbing thing was how they so suddenly turned into grins.
