“Gil!”

“I told you! He’ll wake up soon, you didn’t have to violate me so badly…”

What entered me eyes was…Nigel’s handsome face which is too way too close.

Th-Th-This is torture! Don’t get your good-looking face so close to me! It’s hard enough to stand side-by-side, looking at your face close-up would only wound a young boy’s heart further!

“Gil…you’re not hurt are you?”, Nigel sighed in relief and backed off. This made my vision scope wider. We were still at the same place, the only addition being Calis, who’s crying beside me, his clothes were torn…

I froze, I looked at the wizard in front of me and said in a heavy voice, “…Calis, you…raped Nigel?”

Calis’ expression became ugly and Nigel looked at me sheepishly, he mumbled, “Well…his appearance is like this…because I was…a bit…too…rough”.

I-I-Is this what you’d call turning the tide?! It wasn’t Calis who raped Nigel but it was Nigel who raped Calis?!!

“Nigel pulled me violently…”, Calis bursted out crying even louder. My face was pale as I looked at Nigel who looked increasingly ashamed. “He pulled me until my shirt was ripped apart then he punched me, not including when he slapped me, kicked me and stepped on me…I’m a delicate little boy!! How could he do this to me…”

“…I-I thought he was going to be able to defend himself…”

“I’m blind! Who would be able to defend themselves if they were slapped in such close proximity.”, Calis the victim shouted while I was lost in thought, thinking of the day I was once kicked by Nigel…I looked at the state Calis is in and turned to Nigel who looked downwards.

I swallowed my saliva in difficulty…to-too scary!

Nigel glanced at me once more before averting his eyes, “When I woke up, apart from him, who was standing…both Gil and Haref wouldn’t wake up no matter what I did so, I…I thought he was going to harm us…and…I’m sorry…”

Calis had a disapproving look, “Do you think just apologising would heal my wounds…”

Bam!!

“Shut up Calis…it wasn’t intentional!”, I coughed, looked at the wizard who stuck out his tongue. I swear I didn’t hit him cause Nigel was being totally adorbs again!

Now that I’ve thought about it, apart from Nigel, Calis and I, there should also be Haref and the lady with blonde hair…

What?

I looked around the room, I felt something weird and couldn’t contain it, “…Nigel where’s Haref…and how about the lady who’s got blonde hair and blue eyes?”

“The lady who’s got blonde hair and blue eyes?”, his argent eyes showed confusion. “There was nothing in this room to start with, apart from the illusion which appeared and Haref’s right here…”

Nigel froze suddenly.

“Gil…Haref’s missing…”

We couldn’t find Haref anywhere.

The pathways in here aren’t complicated, Calis confirmed that he knew nothing and that all the mechanisms have been destroyed, excluding the one we’ve just encountered.

“When you woke up, you saw him. I also saw him but when we turned our attention to Gilbert, Haref went missing the next moment.”, Calis replied Nigel solemnly. “Truthfully speaking…I think the first one who should’ve woken up would’ve been Lancelot rather than Gawain.”

Nigel was silent…he nodded in acceptance.

There’s no one who can rival Lancelots’ powers after all.

“I though…he might’ve walked himself out.”

“Without telling us? That’s too weird and Haref’s not someone who would do that.”, Nigel flatly argued. “It’s…odd.”

“I don’t know about this because when I arrived…I was like all of you. I encountered the illusion created by the mechanism, destroyed the illusion then walked out in peace…”

“Did you skip anything Merlin.”, Nigel lowered his eyes to pressure the wizard. “You skipped the part where you tell us what ‘that thing’ is…

…Now that I’ve thought about it, ever since I’ve stepped into the room, I’ve not seen anything at all. What is ‘that thing’ that Prince Salsaal wants?”

“…”

“You know what, instead of Haref walking himself out, I think you’re playing some kind of trick on us, Merlin.”

The atmosphere started to become tense…while I was walking in the middle.

…Which side should I turn to because I don’t know anything either!

Calis was silent for a moment before turning to me and smiling sweetly, “Actually, if you’re going to ask me, it’s best of you ask Bedivere”.

And he just threw his s.h.i.t towards me.

I still stand firm…I know nothing at allllllllllll.

“Can you remember, before you entered the room, you said you didn’t see anything but Gilbert saw something…a lady with blonde hair and blue eyes.”, Calis tilted his neck. “Instead of trying to squeeze something out of me, wouldn’t it be better to squeeze something out of your friend who’s walking beside you? A girl with blonde hair and blue eyes…”

“You’re avoiding the question, Merlin.”, I could feel the temperature around us decreasing. “What I want to know right now is what is ‘that thing’ that the Prince wants.”

Calis scrunched his eyebrows together as if he didn’t want to talk about it but finally, he sighed and lifted his hand in surrender. “Fine, fine. It’s not a problem to tell you because even if a King were to come, as long as you weren’t accepted by ‘that thing’, you wouldn’t be able to see it either ways.”

“But Haref can sense its powers…”

“Because he’s got the power of light, it’s not weird if he’ll be able to sense it. In this world, apart from Haref, there are only Salsaal and Ca.s.s, who’s got the counter opposite powers and would be able to detect it.”, Calis scrunched his eyebrows and looked at me. “But what happened just now…being able to see a lady, we probably would have to add Bedivere to the list. No, maybe, he might’ve been day dreaming because ‘that thing’ isn’t a human.”

A lady is a human you know! Don’t be so s.e.xist against your own s.e.x (in your last world) you fujoshi!

Now that I think about it, hearing about the game’s protagonist, Mr number one in popularity and a secret character being called out in order like this, my instincts are telling me that the thing at the back of my house isn’t something normal.

Calis closed his eyes, his voice became husky, a voice which makes you think of a villain when they declare some weird desire…hey fujoshi, this isn’t intentional, right.

Suddenly, Nigel’s faced pales as if he was deep in thought.

“The Sword of Kings which should have been lost with the stream. The Sword which should have been returned to the G.o.ddess after King Arthur pa.s.sed away. The Sword which Bedivere was ordered to throw back into the lake…

…but ‘Bedivere’ did not do it…”

“This…”, his argent eyes were widened in shock while I still couldn’t comprehend what he was saying until Calis said something.

“The Sword of Kings, a sword where whoever owns it has the rights to the kingdom…it’s name is Excalibur.”

Excalibur…

Super Sword of legends. The most powerful sword of light, everyone knows it well.

I thought of my old world, no matter which online game it may be, Excalibur will always be among the rare items. Especial for this game, a game where you flirt with King Arthur’s next of kins, I think Excalibur might as well be a cheat item.

Salsaal’s got eyes on a d.a.m.n fine weapon…although he likes to order people around but there’s no denying his taste.

“Prince Salsaal…what the h.e.l.l is he thinking!!”

Nigel cried out. “Doesn’t he know that the mere existence of Excalibur can bring grave dangers?! Both to his status in the royal family…

…and our status as the knights of the round table.”

A deep voice sounded…

A familiar voice which has always been haunting me. When I turned, Calis was already kneeling while Haref’s body was ‘thrown’ to Nigel as if he’s throwing a thing which has lost its usefulness.

“…History has declared, who ever pulls the sword from the stone, they will become a King…a righteous King. At that time, the person who pulled it out was Arthur Pendragon, the first King of the Arthur dynasty…huh…

…so funny, to h.e.l.l with the Arthur dynasty, Arthur died before he had an heir…”

A familiar smug expression appeared across his face along with darkness which devoured the whole area completely…

Turning the surroundings to an area of total darkness.

The only thing that illuminated was a sole golden sword which was in Haref’s hand…

…Excalibur.

“The present King Arthur is actually someone from the round table. You know that guy, Sercon Stantin, who you all agreed upon making him King and falsely using the name Arthur…”, a tall body bent down in front of Nigel.

“When Excalibur chooses someone, that person is King. That’s why you guys in the round table are afraid your powers wouldn’t be in your hand anymore, so, you guys ordered ‘Bedivere’ to dispose of Excalibur…huh.”

“But in the end…Bedivere didn’t do it…”, Nigel averted his argent eyes before looking up, meeting with a pair of ruby coloured eyes. “…you must be…Salsaal Secalno De Arthur.”

A conceited smiled appeared at the corner of his mouth along with the decreasing temperature.

It’s not because the area was becoming cold but because of the murderous aura which makes your body freeze…

…with fear.

Prince Salsaal Secalno De Arthur has successfully escaped.

Ca.s.s Bedivere lowered his golden eyes while clinging to a wall. He saw his brother, sitting like an idiot in the middle of darkness, as if he doesn’t know what to do with life. Idiot elder brother, in times like this, just cling onto the side with more power for survival, backstabbing them after that isn’t too late…

He looked at the golden sword which shone brightly…good thing, that sword hasn’t shown it’s true body of an incredibly annoying lady yet, the Prince of blackness or whoever he is has probably sealed the sword’s true powers…or else my ears would’ve exploded.

Well, whatever…

“Idiot elder brother…if you’re stupid enough to get yourself hurt, don’t say I didn’t tell you…”

He said this not because he would wreak revenge on whoever hurt his elder brother!

He just said it as something expected of a good lil’ bro…

Gilbert: “Excluding the fact that this is a secret pa.s.sage without windows!”

Salsaal: “Huh, that’s why I created my own area total darkness.”

Salsaal: “At least, it looks like midnight.”
