Chapter 10
He finally remembered that he had boiled a pot of noodles an hour ago.
He rushed to the kitchen, only to see flames bursting upwards. The pot's original shape was not decipherable, the kitchen paper beside the pot was burning, and the rubber gas pipe on the side was about to completely melt.
Rong Yi was shocked.
Then, the oil-filled box of the cooker hood fell out of his sight, and a puff of air fell into the flame.
Rong Yi suddenly woke up in fright, and then rushed in to shut down the gas main valve. He then ran out of the house with his phone, hung up on Zhou Li, and quickly dialled 119.
Looking up from downstairs, the kitchen window seemed to be smoking.
Looking at the steaming of his home, Rong Yi's heart began to cool.
A lot of people have gathered in the community downstairs, and they are talking about it. In the crowd, Rong Yi could also see the old couple who lived above him, looking anxious and frightened.
He was ashamed. Just as he was about to go and apologise, the fire truck arrived.
The high-pressure water hose greeted the window, and soon the fire disappeared completely, leaving only a black window.
Then he saw his landlady who lived nearby yelling and panicking.
Half of his kitchen had been burnt, the corridor walls were blackened, and the whole floor was soaked in the water.
The gracious landlady trembled in anger and wanted to give an account.
Rong Yi couldn't explain it.
Compensation is definitely needed. Besides, he seemed to be homeless now. Although it was a rented house, after living in it for a few years, he had some good feelings for it. The landlady was really a good person; in the past few years, the rent had barely risen. Rong Yi had paid the rent without procrastinating and his health habits were good.
But now, the aunt is determined to turn him away.
After packing up, Rong Yi managed to find a Black Hotel which didn't check ID cards but had a poor environment. Sitting down, he received a message from the intermediary company saying that it was commissioned to evaluate the damage of the house and to meet with them a week later to discuss his compensation.
Rong Yi checked his bank deposits. His heart was dead.
Turns out the so-called unpredictable weather was like this. Rong Yi can only hope that this series of tragedies was the lowest point in his life, and from here it will improve.
Staying in a Black Hotel was only a short-term solution; it's imperative to find a new place.
Rong Yi wasn't sure if his life was really starting to turn around. The next day, he sent a message for rent in his circle of friends and immediately received a call from Liu Yuan.
“This is really a coincidence. I have a friend who was looking for a tenant a few days ago,” he said, “he's still very anxious. The asking price is very low. Would you like to check it out?”
The address he sent was some distance away from the original residence of Rong Yi but wasn't far from his work. It wasn't in a remote vicinity, and it was indeed cheap.
This was great news for those who were now dest.i.tute and homeless.
“He didn't ask for anything, but he hoped that your health habits would be adequate, that you wouldn't bother each other, and that you could move in as soon as possible,” Liu Yuan introduced. “It seems that he couldn't stand his father's three-day run to live. By the way, can you cook?'
“I will,” he nodded.
“That's even better. He's very talkative and isn't short of money. If you can help with cooking, it'll be cheaper.”
Rong Yi was particularly anxious and took a half-day vacation in the afternoon.
When he arrived, he met with the agent. He introduced him and chatted with him a few times.
After hearing about the experience of Rong Yi, he was very sympathetic and immediately called the landlord, adding fuel and vinegar to describe his tragic situation.
Rong Yi stood by and listened to him saying on the phone, “This guy's life is clean and he's handsome and very polite. You can rest a.s.sured. And people are too miserable. If you don't hurry to find a place, you may have to live on the street. If you still have to take the time to come back, you should sign the contract.”
He felt a little embarra.s.sed, so went around the house alone. Although it was a shared house, the decoration style of the whole house was simple and generous, and the room s.p.a.ce left for him was not small. The furniture looked very new, and the more he looked, the more satisfied he was.
When he went out of the room again, he saw the agent standing in the corner of the room. He was covering his mouth and whispering into the phone. “He really is a handsome thief. I'll secretly take a picture of him later.
Rong Yi coughed softly in the back.
The other party immediately put down his hand. “Hey, I know. I'll take him back to the office and wait for you.”
When the staff member arrived at the agency, Rong Yi suddenly realised a very serious problem.
He didn't have an ID card.
Seeing the contract was to be signed, the legendary landlord finally appeared.
“This is Mr Chen,” the agent who had been accompanying Rong Yi introduced the two people. “This is Mr Rong. Do you guys have any problems that need to be mentioned now? In fact, there's no rush… What happened to you guys?"
Rong Yi also wanted to ask, what was the matter?
He looked at Chen Keyao in front of him and felt that the whole world was joking with him.
Chen Keyao's expression was also very exciting. First, he looked surprised. Then he frowned. Finally, he cleared his throat and asked him, “…your house burned down?"
It's really not ivory in the dog's mouth.
In the Rong Yi's heart, an unnamed fire slammed into his forehead. He lifted his luggage and began to walk out.
The agent looked confused. “What happened to you, Mr Rong? Where are you going?”
“I don't want to rent it anymore.”
Who wants to live with this man? Rong Yi was more willing to live on the streets.
“You wait,” came Chen Keyao's voice from behind him. “Didn't you receive your ID card? I sent it to you.”
One foot had already stepped outside the door, but Rong Yi was stunned and turned around.
He still didn't speak. Chen Keyao frowned and continued, “Your ID card was in my car. I delivered it to your company the next day. Didn't you receive it?”
No.
The front desk of their company did acc.u.mulate a lot of express delivery, but they all had to rely on their own. Rong Yi hadn't bought anything online recently, so he naturally hadn't thought to look.
He really picked it up. He originally had thought that he would definitely break it and throw it into the trash.
…But it's too late now; he'd already reported it as lost.
Rong Yi kept silent as his expression changed constantly and Chen Keyao sighed. “What happened that day, I…”
Rong Yi looked at him, his heart suddenly sour.
“There's nothing to say,” he lowered his gaze. “It's as if it never happened.”
Chen Keyao stopped talking and finally nodded. “Okay.”
Seeing a deal about to be so ruined, the watching real estate agent b.u.t.ted in.
“You wait! Since it's an acquaintance, isn't that better?” He hurried to the door and pulled Rong Yi back. “Mr Rong, don't you live in a bad place? And you don't have your ID card. Without it, how can you rent in another place? People you don't know won't agree!”
Rong Yi had never lost his ID card before. He wasn't sure if after being reported as lost, the doc.u.ments could be used anymore, and he was now caught in an awkward situation.
Seeing his att.i.tude had become a little looser, the intermediary quickly turned back and greeted Chen Keyao. “Mr Chen, what do you say? Do you mind if the ident.i.ty information isn't used until later?”
Chen Keyao didn't speak.
In fact, his att.i.tude was very obvious. Although he is not as resentful as Rong Yi, he's not very willing to have contact with him.
It's just that Rong Yi's situation was indeed very miserable.
But how could he accept his love?
Although the intermediary looked very hard into the eyes of the two, Rong Yi still decided to let him down.
Just as he wanted to say goodbye, Chen Keyao's cell phone suddenly rang.
He looked down at the screen and whispered the phrase: “…my G.o.d.”
Then, instead of answering the phone, he jerked his head up to look at Rong Yi. Being stared at so intensely, Rong Yi subconsciously took a step back.
Chen Keyao took a step forward. “Do you want to come to my house for a night?”
Instantly, Rong Yi's brain showed many bad pictures.
After all, even if the previous experience was painful, the Alpha in front of him was still good in his heart and looks. And now he had just heard him say a really ambiguous phrase.
The phone was still ringing, and Chen Keyao saw that he was still frowning and not saying anything. In desperation, he answered the phone.
After that, Rong Yi heard a funny one-sided conversation.
“Dad… Why are you here again,” Chen Keyao said with a tangled expression. “My house is rented out. Really. People are going to live there today. There is no place for you to sleep. It's true… What did I lie to you about? We'll be right over. No, don't come over, I'm not going back to dinner; you don't have to bring it to me… I didn't! Can you stop talking nonsense?”
The agent standing next to Rong Yi whispered to him. “Look, you are pitiful, you can help him.”
Chen Keyao's family was next door.
Two people walked to his house one after the other. The whole process was extremely silent.
This development was very strange. Rong Yi felt that his heart had distorted. He could now make Chen Keyao feel uncomfortable, and at the same time amuse himself.
The two people had walked downstairs when Chen Keyao suddenly stopped.
“If my father's still there, no matter what he says, don't listen to him.”
Rong Yi nodded behind him.
Chen Keyao obviously couldn't see it, but he didn't emphasise his point any longer.
Rong Yi had come once in the afternoon and was familiar with the route. After getting off the lift, he looked in the direction of Chen Keyao's flat and saw a middle-aged man standing by the door.
Hearing them coming, the middle-aged man immediately turned around. Chen Keyao, who was walking in front of Rong Yi opened his mouth. “Dad, what are you doing standing at the door…”
The middle-aged man didn't utter a word, but frowned, and looked past his own son to see who was behind him.
Rong Yi stood in the same place and looking at the Alpha who looked five points similar to Chen Keyao, secretly swallowed.
He didn't dare to scream, but he couldn't help but sway quietly.
Mum, this uncle is so handsome.
The author has something to say:
In the afternoon. The agent is on the phone: Really, it's an Alpha, a handsome one! The intermediary is facing Rong Yi: The landlord is a very handsome Alpha! Chen Keyao & Rong Yi's hearts: LUCKY~❤
