"Pardon my bad manner. I'm too focused reading this book. Have a seat please?"
"No! No! I'm the one who have caused you much trouble especially coming here at the wrong hour. Thank you for your hospitality , Mr O'Sullivan." She quickly waved both of her palms forward as she refuted him and took the seat across him. She carefully watched his expression in case he had show his discomfort in regards of her unwelcomed presence.
"It's my duty to serve my guest with satisfying hospitality." Luckily , his face expressed much more friendly look and there was a warm smile tugging on his lips , contradicting to the cold vibes she got once she entered the room. His eyes were dark but neither it was cold nor warm. He looked very composed and approachable.
"Oh! I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Mia … Mia Wilson."
"Yes , Ms Wilson. What can I help you? I guess you're in urgent situation since you came very early this morning."
"I'm here is to … to strike a deal."
"A deal? Do I owe you something?" He then changed his posture into a more comfortable sitting as he fully focused on her.
"Yes and No. Not you but your late father." His eyebrows twitched as his father's name was mentioned right in the beginning of their conversation without any faltering made by Mia.
"My late father? You know him?"

"I didn't really know him but I've met him a few times before he pa.s.sed away and I believe our deal today will be in a win-win situation." She tried to sound tough despite her heart was beating nervously as she replied him.
"Ms Wilson , I bet you too know that you're not the first person coming here to seek for your personal gain by using my father's name. I refrain to construct a deal with you if your talking is just a bluffing one."
As she expected this kind of response , she had prepared something useful in this situation before she decided to come to this mansion. She had similar experiences in the past that made her to be cautious and well prepared when dealing with conglomerates families. They wouldn't want to be in a business with anyone without any guaranteed collateral or great returns in exchange.
She then took out something small from her purse. Its size was just as long as her pointing finger. It was a rectangular shape item with black colour at the front and gold at the back. With the gold colour outlined its shape , that thing seemed very exquisite. At the back , there was a gold clip attached to it. On the black front surface , there was a shining gold cursive writing. It was a tie clip which had a name of 'Alexender' beautifully carved on it.
"Here , this is my proof. I hope with this , you're going to consider my deal." She slowly put the tie clip on the small coffee table between them as she prayed in silence that using this item , she managed to grab his attention.
However , this Mr. O'Sullivan didn't show any change in his expression. Although his face still portrayed a warmth look , he too didn't seem very convinced with the thing she brought today that was supposed to be the key evidence that would prove her relation to his late father.
"You seem to be well prepared unlike those people who claimed to know my father without any basis. Enlighten me more about this. Although I cannot confirm the authenticity of this tie clip as of this moment , I believe I should give you chance for the sake of my father's reputation."
"I'll tell you everything but I need you to promise that you'll help me in return of the info I'm about to share."
"Of course. A man shouldn't break his words right? Go ahead , continue." With the gentle tone , he encouraged her to give him more with the details.
"Like I said before , I've met your father before he died. I once happened to be at the scene where he got into the car accident. Although I was very young at that time , my memory is still intact and I remember the actual details that occurred in the accident. Your father didn't die immediately on the scene. He was saved but because his injuries were too serious , he couldn't make it till the end."
Mia spouted every words with her clear voice in hope he would believe her. She knew that the death news that was reported about this man's late father by the police and media was very different with what she had just told him hence the reliability of her words couldn't be guaranteed.
She expected him to question her more but his reaction surprised her even more. He just chuckled upon her sharing and instead of dwelling more about his late father's incident , he changed the topic.
"Enough about my father. Tell me your request. I'll consider it if it's within my capabilities."
"Do you really believe me? Just like that? I thought that …"
"I couldn't say that I'm truly trust in your words but as for now , your story is more realistic that those I've heard. At least , I could do something in return of the humor you just entertained me."
"No! I'm not joking... I'm aware that this might sound nonsense but … " She tried to defend herself and emphasized the truth behind the incident however this man seemed to view her as a person that exploited his father's death as to gain personal benefits.
"State the deal or you choose to leave without anything beneficial to you. My time is limited." His eyes turned darker and his voice was deep indicating his seriousness. Even his expression changed slightly and Mia had no choice other than giving in.
"Please … I need your help. In exchange of your promise , please find my biological parents." In a pleading tone , she asked this request earnestly and her eyes glistened in pureness. Anyone could see the honesty in her eyes.
She paused momentarily before further continued.
"I have no one to rely on and nor have to power to start off the search but I believe someone like you do have that capability. That's all I ask."
She thought that he might brush her request off without sparing much attention like what he did just now however this man never met her expectation.
"Aren't your life now better without them? Why do you want to look for them now and why not earlier on?" He seemed to be interested in this matter or maybe he just wanted to provoke her as to find out some loopholes in her story. As much she tried to appear innocent and honest , this man with such high IQ would find a way to deny her innocence appearance.
"I only knew about this shortly before I entered the university so I planned to study hard and look for them after my graduation because I didn't want this matter to affect my studies at that moment. I couldn't find much from my foster parents since they never told me about the adoption. The day I found out this was the day I lost both of my foster parents. They both died in a car crash. At that time , they both needed more blood supply as they had lost much in the accident. I wanted to donate mine however my blood was not compatible for them. Because of the blood shortage and also time pressure , my parents ended up died." She pressed her mouth tightly as she tried to not lose control however the emotion was so overwhelmed. It was a mixed of regrets and also sadness. She thought she already let go of this tragic incident but it seemed that deep down her heart , there was still a room for her to mourn over her dead foster parents.
"There must be a reason why they never told you. Maybe they always considered you as their child so don't you think by looking your real parents , your late adopted parents would be sad by your decision? As if you despise them for replacing your real parents."
"No! That's not my intention. I have wasted so much time dwelling on this matter. Even if I found out who are my biological parents , I would never forget about my foster parents. It's just that …. I …"
