Chapter 106 – A Blossoming 500 Years
100 years, the rivers and streams of Luoying Mountain ceaselessly flowed, irrigating the entire forest. All the young seedlings have cultivated into towering trees, and flowers have bloomed and withered countless cycles. There were no longer any traces of damage from the earthquake in the past, just a beautiful scenery in our eyes.
300 years, a few families and villagers from nearby Luoying Mountain have reclaimed the land and settled by the foot of the mountain. We watched as their children grew up, marry, and then have children of their own. Time very quickly pa.s.sed, the little girl who was once young became a toothless granny, and the handsome young man had become an old grandpa. Through many cycles of life and death, their children continue to grow, then their grandchildren, then their great grandchildren…..mankind never stopped their tenacity and continual advancement, their little settlements becoming large villages of hundreds and thousands of people.
500 years, the Monkey King who was crushed under Wuzi Mountain has become a monk to learn and repent for his rebellious actions. He who had originally hated the Heavenly Realms has set off to the West to seek the Buddha for the Fruit of Virtue.
What are the Fruit of Virtue? My sworn brothers and I expectantly stared at Bull Devil Gege for answer, but he only smilingly said, “It isn’t really anything.”
“Since it isn’t really anything, then why would he go look for it?”
“If I don’t seek the Fruit of Virtue, then I can’t come out of Wuzi Mountain. These years, my cute little monkey friends have suffered greatly from other demons. Without my support, they will have to continue living bitterly,” The Monkey King had his name changed to Sun Wukong, “If you were in my position, would you go to seek the Fruit of Virtue?”
“I would, why wouldn’t I? Humans suffer the harshness of reality and so can demons,”
Before I could even finish, Bull Devil interrupted. He mercilessly drank a big mouthful of wine, “I remember back in the days us sworn brothers would constantly fight back to back, but now four out of the five have already gone their own ways.”
Numerous other demons sighed hearing these words and continued their binge drinking. After Bull Devil had become drunk, he grasped onto me and kept crying out, “Luo Sha…..let’s stop fighting, I’ll go home once your fire calms…..”
I did not drink. Seeing their horrendous drunk appearances, I quickly left. As I left, I saw that Sun Wukong also hadn’t drunk, he was sitting alone in the cold breeze with eyes full of sadness. I didn’t want to disturb him so I left on the h.e.l.l Hound myself.
Thinking back to the past, I remember how Xiao’lin had come to the mortal realm just to help build a large house for us to live in, saying how it wasn’t good for me and the baby to live in a cave. But this house they built was so big that it really had a lot of unnecessary s.p.a.ce. There were 10-odd rooms, and with just Yin Zi and I, cleaning was too much of a ch.o.r.e. Yin Zi named it the Hua Residence after myself. Thus after completing their trials and becoming matured demons, Luo Luo and Jian Nan came to live with us. Wawa also came, since coming down to the Mortal Realm to play last time, she didn’t appear to want to leave this lively place and happily became my personal maid. Jin Wen didn’t come, she and Mo’lin got married. They lovingly spent their time together as a couple making medicine and growing herbs. Spending your days being happy is better than spending it unhappy, it’s just that sometimes I would think of Jin Xian and Bi Qingshen Jun and can’t help but cry. They said that excessive grief together with being pregnant would make child-birth difficult.
Xiao’lin arranged for several servants and maids to help with housework. Every few years, they were switched with others. Yin Zi took over financial and economic power as well as becoming the chief of the treasury, dealing with human affairs and becoming quite busy.
At the very beginning, hunters from the foot of the mountain would pry around to see what was up. Once we’ve had enough of this annoying behaviour, we asked Mo’lin to help us set up an Illusion Formation so no humans would dare come any closer to us. The only downside to this formation was that I was also unable to enter or exit it.
Ao Yun came to play with me almost every month, and every time he came, he would bring a lot of fresh fish, lobster, and dried goodies to cheer me up. He urged me to not cling to Bi Qingshen Jun saying it would be better to marry him instead.
Every time he quietly said these things, Yin Zi would come out with a broom to kick him away, but because of his lack of strength, he was unable to even touch Ao Yun.
Since he brought with him so many delicacies, how could I possibly dare to shoo him away…..so in the end, that b.a.s.t.a.r.d ended up playing until late before leaving, and would come back soon each time.
When Xiao Tian came down to the Mortal Realm to finish some tasks, he would occasionally drop by to visit Wawa. The progress in their relationship seems to have progressed immensely. Every time the two of them met my piercing gaze, they would immediately take off, really frustrating.
Because I didn’t continue further education at the demon school, Blue Feather G.o.ddess came to give me private lessons. She choose and taught me some useful spells. Under Yin Zi’s strict guidance, I was finally able to hide my own tails and ears to appear like an ordinary person so that when I left home, I wouldn’t be recognized as a demon. Very useful.
So many things have happened these years that when I began to think about, I would start laughing. The h.e.l.l Hound eventually stopped at the door steps of our residence. Jian Nan hurriedly shouted Shifu is back, and lead away the hound.
Having become a become a matured demon, his outer appearances were still very ordinary, no outstanding features and no fancy attire. If he were to be lost in a crowd, one would absolutely be unable to find him. However, he was very good with his words, if he meets humans he would give them flattery, and if he met ghosts he would give them praises none the less. Any types of negotiations were left for him to deal with whether they were deals between humans or demons.
Luo Luo has blossomed into a beauty, overcoming the difficulties of her training, she was finally able to be a bit more courageous. Relying on her good mind and skills in calculation, she a.s.sisted Yin Zi with finance. The only odd thing was that every time Jian Nan was mentioned, she would blush a little. The two had a very good relationship, they became a married couple about 50 years ago. As the chief of servants and head accountant, they were extremely busy and helped Yin Zi a lot, unlike myself who knew nothing other fighting…..
“You’re back?” Yin Zi rushed out, holding and polishing his gems as he greeted with a smile, “Food is in the kitchen, your bedroom is in the West Wing, you can go to the garden to play, your child is in the mountains, and if you need anything else, just go look for it yourself. I’m very busy, so don’t bother me for small matters.”
“I know you’ve just received gems as tribute from nearby monsters.” I cleverly guessed his intentions. Yin Zi giggled like crazy and then ran towards the treasury, anything as long as it’s related to his gems and treasures, that guy seemed to have a case of an impaired brain…..and quite a serious case too.
I shook my head, I didn’t want to eat, sleep, play, and didn’t even go looking for my child, I just quickly crossed the woods towards the stone under the constant water droplets. The rock appeared very eroded due to long-term exposure to moisture, and on the surface of the rock was a finger-deep indentation. The rock was over half an arm’s length tall and long, the size of the dent in the rock has barely changed the slightest from yesterday. I took a handkerchief to gently clean away the water from the shallow hole. This required me to come here a minimum of ten times a day, always myself doing it personally. Waiting for the day Bi Qingshen Jun returns, I will definitely protest to him about how lonely it was these years.
As I was imagining what kind of words I’d say when I see Bi Qingshen Jun, a child’s joyful voice rang from the distance, “Mom! I’ve searched for you the entire day!”
