Fox Tale Of A Dungeon Boss 21 Chapter 21: Accidentally Pulled A Few More? Wave A Knife Around.

I was basically just screaming my head off as I ran through the forest with a small horde on my tail. What horde you ask?

Well... remember how there was only 6 goblins and a Hobgoblin left? Weeeeell...

Turns out there was a 'few' more nearby, and now I had a Hobgoblin riding a ma.s.sive Boar, about 30 Goblins on foot, and 8 on wolves.

How the h.e.l.l was I not already dead?

Ehehe. Well it's simply. If they can use magic to boost their bodies, why can't I? I just started cycling mana through my legs as I ran, speeding up my speed and increasing the force I pushed off with.

"LATER b.i.t.c.hES!" I yelled back, laughing like a complacent a.s.shole, until a ma.s.sive chunk of ice slammed a tree nearby.

'That... was probably a spell. They have Goblin Shamans. Seriously. f.u.c.k Goblins.'

I turned around and threw FoxFire at them, blowing up 4 of the 30 on foot, and set off a few wind blades(5 to be exact) at the wolves getting a bit too close.

I wasn't able to perfectly aim necessarily, but I made some efforts to aim for the legs of the wolves so as to throw the riders, and set the FoxFires for center ma.s.s to better guarantee a hit.

A WindBlade missed, but the rest hit, so now I had 4 goblins and 4 wolves less to worry about, plus 4 goblins that were thrown to the ground and trampled.

I continued kiting around the group as I ran like a madman(madfox? Mad Foxkin? Somebody explain the proper slang for my species!), smacking spells at them with abandon, letting off mostly windblades as FoxFire has a lower efficiency right now.

FoxFire= 5 Mana for 4 attacks.

WindBlade= 1 Mana for 1 Attack.

'Course Amy attack's used to slow down that demon-boar and that Hobgoblin had to be FoxFires to have any chance of affecting them. WindBlade just don't got that kind power.

I decided to try something out, as I began to stop slowing down a few of the goblins on foot, attacking the rest as I ran.

Once the split off and got a bit closer, I did something I'll admit was a stupid risk. But I was going to run out of Mana eventually, so I decided to attack those few with my knife.

I took one through the eye as my arm swung faster than the sprinting goblin could react, then stopped, getting low to the ground as I spun, removing the dagger from its brains and slicing through the side of another's neck. I then used a spinning back kick to the last of those 3, launching him to be trampled by the horde trying to slow down and turn a bit to their left, towards me.

Then I once again bolted, zigzagging again. I engaged a few more split offs of the group, eventually ending up with a VERY p.i.s.sED Hobgoblin, who's skin darkened to a blood red(maybe he's mad I got lucky and shot a FoxFire down his Boars throat?), and was still running at me.

His back up was 14 goblins on foot, and not a single wolf rider was left. And finally(G.o.d YES) the Dungeon was coming into view up ahead. I could feel through the soul connections that Isen and the rest were ready, while they had Luna staying by the entrance to the Boss Room(which I kinda want to call the Glade, but that's not how the Dungeon calls it. Hmph).

'AHAHAHA, just wait you f.u.c.kers, my backup will kick your a.s.ses!'

I ran up to the apple orchard, and Isen unsheathes his blade as k.u.miko opened her fan. Touka set her staff against the ground behind them in preparation.

As the first goblins. .h.i.t the border of the dungeon, I saw all the Tengu's eyes flare red as predatory rage filled them, and suddenly dark miasma covered their wings as they flapped towards the Goblins, feathers surrounded by dark energy shooting out at them.

I mostly missed it, but basically the Tengu flapped wings covered in dark purple energy at the goblins, and the energy concentrated in those feathers that shot at the goblins.

'Yeah thanks a.n.a.lyze, I figured that much out.'

The part that had me sweating a little bit was how the feathers stabbed into the goblins as if they were arrows made of steel, and the energy coating them sank into their green flesh. Within a few seconds the veins around the wounds were dark purple and looked infected.

'Ah. That would be the plague bit. Cool, a poison spell.' I snapped out of my own thoughts as the rest of the goblins rushed in, and the 3 further up the hill continued raining feathers down at the ones in range.

Then, the Hobgoblin stepped foot on the hill, with me as the only target in it's sights.

"Alright ugly, lets go!" I yelled as a primal urge for battle surged from within.

I wanted to grow, stronger and stronger. I wanted to stand above all these invaders and ruthlessly slaughter any who would violate my home.

Today, I take my first steps to rise in combat power and gain the experience I need to protect myself.
