Living In The Last Days Chapter 2

Xia Man didn't wait until for Qu Zhen to finish and left because of a text from Xiang Yang. "Xia Man, I'm at the Lover's Lake at school. I'd like to see you. I have something to tell you."

Xia Man looked at the phone identical to Qu Zhen's, her eyes baring hate as high as the skies.

Xia Man glanced at the mesmerizing figure of Qu Zhen on stage and left.

It's today. Nothing has been discovered yet. Because everything started with this text message.

Xia Man stood up and quietly left when the actor on stage sang a song.

Lover's Lake was located in front of the school library. The slightly cold air of May was clearly present, yet she didn't feel anything at all. Nothing will be able to make one feel cold when one's heart was already cold, after all.

Because of the rehearsal for Youth Day on May 4th, almost everyone went to watch. There was no one at the lakeside of Lover's Lake, the atmosphere resembling a cemetery.

"Manman, you came. Why are you wearing so little?" Xiang Yang was as just gentle as he was before. "Why aren't you wearing the scarf I bought you?"

Xia Man sneered. It's almost June, yet she still had to wear a scarf. Isn't he just trying to make her a joke?

"Didn't you say you had something to tell me? What is it?" Xia Man looked at the nearby patch of gra.s.s. Consciously or not, there was a strange feeling, as though something between her and Qu Zhen was interrupted.

 "…" Xiang Yang didn't expect that she wouldn't act like she usually does, rendering the lines he had prepared useless.

"If you have nothing to say, I'm heading back. Qu Zhen's rehearsal is still ongoing, and I want to see it." Her sneer wasn't visible due to the darkness of the night.

How could Xiang Yuan possibly let her leave? He had planned for so long, how could he possibly let it fail? Waiting for her fall would be too difficult.

"I'm sorry, but let's break up." Although the sweet atmosphere he imagined wasn't there, Xiang Yang still said it. Xia Man was madly in love with him, after all. Her cold att.i.tude must be because she was in a sour mood. Hearing his request to break up, she'd definitely collapse.

Xiang Yang didn't expect that Xia Man would just look back and scrutinize him, and nodded. "I know."

Xiang Yang sighed. He never thought that her reaction would be so cold.

What he didn't know was, while she had that cold expression, she was clenching her fist, punishing herself with pain. His words clearly reminded her of when she went against Qu Zhen.

"You're not going to ask why?" Xiang Yang was slightly anxious. He swore he'd succeed!

"Isn't it because there's no love?" She tried to control herself. It's not the end of the world, killing people is still illegal. She'd be sent to jail. She hasn't been able to do anything yet, it's not worth it. She'll deal with this sc.u.m when the end of the world comes.

"I'll be going first, I still have things to do." Xia Man said, getting ready to leave. Because of the wound on her foot, she was walking slowly.

Xiang Yang suddenly hugged Xia Man.

"Xia Man… You're shaking. Don't be anxious, I don't love you!" Hugging Xia Man, he felt that her whole body was shaking. He was secretly laughing inside.

Xia Man was indeed shaking. Her undisguisable hatred made her body tremble uncontrollably.

"I never loved you, but there was someone I can never offend. She forced me to be with you." Xiang Yang said in a grievous tone.

Xia Man stepped on his foot.

Xiang Yang screamed. Xia Man's foot also hurt, but how could it compare to her hearts pain? Instead, the physical pain she felt relieved a certain portion of psychological burden.

"Don't be… Upset…" Xiang Yang was in pain. He hated Xia Man, but still played gentle and comforting. "I didn't have a choice. You're close to Qu Zhen, so you should know best of what she's capable of!"

Xia Man clenched her teeth. She couldn't believe she fell for this thing!

"You were kept in the dark. You know full well Qu Zhen already has everything, yet still take things away from you, again and again. At that time, I didn't believe that Qu Zhen was that heartless. I never expected that…" Xiang Yang slowly spoke.

Xia Man stared at him. Unable to tolerate what he just said, he kicked her right foot to a stone. It bled, but she didn't care. Her hatred ad reached its peak.

She had once said, your bloated pride will blind you.

"Qu Zhen is all the light my world will ever need." Xia Man said as she walked towards Qu Zhen's direction.

Apparently, Xiang Yang never thought that she'd actually change!

Xia Man walked a few steps and saw Qu Zhen standing in a close distance, still wearing the same dress.

"Qu Zhen…" The moment she saw Qu Zhen, her psychological defense instantly crumbled and she ran over.

When Qu Zhen saw Xia Man running towards her, her heart was immediately elated. She unhesitantly ran over, catching Xia Man who almost fell.

"Is everything alright?"Qu Zhen asked, her eyes scanned down to Xia Man's feet.

The white sneakers Xia Man wore was dyed red.

Qu Zhen's expression sank. She immediately ran towards her car, kicking the hight heels on her feet.

Xia Man smelled of the familiar scent of Qu Zhen, her tears continuously flowing down.

"Don't be scared, I won't let anything happen to you." Qu Zhen's cold voice had a hint of panic.

Hearing this voice, Xia Man wanted to strangle herself. Which part of this made you think her feelings were just alms?!

"Qu Zhen…" Xia Man quietly laid down in Qu Zhen's arms. Closing her eyes, she swore to herself. She'll make those people live a life worse than death!

Qu Zhen drove while paying attention to Xia Man. "Don't be scared, I'm right here."

Xia Man nodded. As long as you're here, there's nothing to be afraid of!

Qu Zhen hurriedly brought her back to her villa, when someone came up and stopped her. "Mistress!"

"Hurry call Dr. Li, Manman's foot is injured." Qu Zhen refused the other party offer to hold Xia Man, carrying her into her villa herself.

This was the first time Xia Man entered Qu Zhen's villa. In the past, she had refused to come, no matter what Qu Zhen said.

Dr. Li examined Xia Man's foot. "Miss Xia, what kind of exercise were you doing? What did you kick??"

Xia Man just nodded and averted her gaze. "I'm fine, just help me bandage it."

"Manman, be good. Let Dr. Li check for a while. He's an expert." Qu Zhen looked at her with a distressed look.

Of course, Xia Man knew that this man wasn't Qu Zhen's family doctor. He's an expert who came for Qu Zhen wealth, for his own benefit.
