The following week after he was admitted to the hospital, Kim-haejung showed up everyday at his hospital room, even though she said she’ll only come on the weekends. Still, Kim-haejung didn’t have anything to do since the caregiver was still there. She was basically there to be someone he could talk to.

Kim-haejung was focused watching a tv drama, and Lee-joonhyuk controlled his muscles as he watched it with her. If he sensed and trained the muscles at the same time, it was more effective. Also, he had to perfect how to harden his muscles like a stone, so he had a lot of things to do.

Knock. k.o.c.k.

At the knock, Lee-joonhyuk looked towards the hospital room’s door.

“Who is it?”

When the door opened, the person who entered was deputy head Jang. Also, there was an unexpected person following behind him. Jun-somin entered with a fruit basket, and Lee-joonhyuk scratched his head when he saw her. Why did she have to visit him when Kim-haejung was still here? It is a situation where a misunderstanding may happen.

Of course, Kim-haejung’s eyes were twinkling.

Lee-joonhyuk shook his head then he opened his mouth.

“She is my mother.”

“Good to meet you. I’m the deputy head of ST Capsules Strategic Planning Department, Jang-oohjung. ”

“Oh my. You are his superior at the company.”

Jun-somin bowed her head towards Kim-haejung, who had a bright smile.

“How do you do. I’m a fellow new employee, Jun-somin.”

“That’s how it is.”

“Here.”

Jun-somin handed the fruit basket over, and Kim-haejung received it with a smile on her face.

“Please sit for a moment. I’ll cut the fruits in a flash.”

“It’s fine.”

At deputy head Jang’s word, Kim-haejung hurriedly grabbed his wrist, and she directed him to a chair. Jun-somin looked around then she sat in a chair.

Kim-haejung washed the fruits then she brought it back with a knife.

When she saw this, Kim-haejung stepped forward.

“I’ll cut it.”

“How can I let a guest do it? Wait a moment.”

She had long experience as a housewife, so Kim-haejung’s fruit peeling skill was quite good. Lee-joonhyuk turned his gaze away from Kim-haejung.
Since it was a bit irregular for Jun-somin to visit with deputy head Jang, he asked a question.

“Which department did you get a.s.signed to, Ms Junsomin?”

“I was a.s.signed to the Strategic Planning Department. ”

“That is one of the main departments. Isn’t that amazing?”

When Lee-joonhyuk was surprised, deputy head Jang spoke calmly.

“From this batch of new employees, only Mr. Kim-jangho and Ms Jun-somin was a.s.signed to the the Strategic Planning Department.”

Of course, Kim-jangho had entered as the top candidate so he was a given. However, Jun-somin was a bit unexpected.

Deputy head Jang pushed an envelope towards Lee-joonhyuk.

“You were a.s.signed to the Publicity Department.”

He had already heard it from Kim-oonsuh. Lee-joonhyuk received the envelope, and deputy head Jang smiled.

“You can come to work when you are back to full health. Just think of your first month on the job as a vacation.”

“Is that so?”

Lee-joonhyuk smiled. He didn’t even need to go to work during the first month, and he felt good when he hear he’ll still be paid.

At that moment, a dish was presented between them.

The fruits were cut prettily, and it was laid out uniformly.

“Please eat it as you talk.”

Kim-haejung smiled with her eyes toward Jun-somin, then she turned to look at Lee-joonhyuk.

“Mother will step out for a moment.”

“Yes.”

When Kim-haejung left, deputy head Jang talked as he ate a slice of apple.

“I heard from the rescue party that it was a miracle that both of you had survived.”

It was a miracle that they had both survived after they fell from great heights. If it wasn’t for Lee-joonhyuk’s ability, Kim-oonsuh would have died for sure.
Moreover, if Leejoonhyuk hadn’t turned his muscles hard as rock according to the muscle training method taught by Atlan, Lee-joonhyuk would have died. He had never figured out how to harden his muscles like stone until that moment, so one could say it was a blessing in disguise. It wasn’t on par with Atlan, who could block a sword with this method, but he could at the very least limit the damage.

” We were lucky. While we were falling, a tree was able to absorb some of our impact.”

“Is that so? It must have been pure luck.”

Jun-somin pierced a melon with a fork then she handed it over to Lee-joonhyuk. Deputy head Jang laughed when he saw this.

“I’m sorry. I should have been more considerate.”

Lee-joonhyuk received the fork from Jun-somin, and he ate it in one bite.

“Isn’t it more delicious to receive it from my fellow employee, Ms Somin, then from you?”

“Hahaha. Is that so? I should have noticed it sooner.”

When Jun-somin’s face reddened slightly, deputy head Jang laughed louder. Deputy head Jang ate couple more apple slice as he kept a light conversation going. Then he stood up from his seat.

“Do you want to stay and talk to him longer, Ms. Somin?”

“No.”

When Jun-somin stood up abruptly, Lee-joonhyuk extended his hand towards his wheelchair.

“I’ll see you out.”

“It’s ok. Get well soon, and come to work.”

Deputy head Jang patted his shoulder then he left the hospital room. As Jun-somin was about to follow deputy head Jang, she briefly looked at Lee-joonhyuk as she spoke.

“Take care of yourself.”

“I’ll see you at the company.”

Jun-somin left as she laughed with her eyes. Soon, Kim-haejung returned inside. She stared at Lee-joonhyuk, and she queried.

“Who is that young woman?”

“She’s joined the company at the same time as me. We were also in the same group at the training facility.”

“Is that right?”

If he left it alone, he felt she would try to dig for more information. So he replied patiently.

“She’s in a different department as me, so we won’t even see much of each other.”

“Is that so? She is pretty.”

Even Lee-joonhyuk agreed Jun-somin was pretty. However, nothing good would come from agreeing with her out loud. Also, it wasn’t Jun-somin he thought of when he trained. It was none other than Kim-oonsuh.

At the moment of the accident, he had used all his strength to save her. It was a brief moment, but he had never fully devoted himself to someone until that moment. He only thought of her, and he had only thought of saving her.

This caused him to think about Kim-oonsuh even though they really didn’t know each other. However, when he thought of her, a part of his heart felt heavy.

Lee-joonhyuk had trained without resting until Friday, but the results weren’t at a satisfactory level. He was able to somewhat harden his muscle like stone. However, it wasn’t as hard as the time he hardened it while falling off the cliff.

When he realized his various shortcomings, he let out a deep sigh.

“Whew.”

Today, he had specially sent the caregiver away, so he was alone. He even told Kim-haejung to retire early, and he advised her to come back on the weekends.

He was told he would be summoned on the same time. He had been called around the time when the night news was about to start. He had finished eating dinner around 7 o’clock, and he had less than two hours left.

He vowed to survive, but it wasn’t a guarantee he’ll survive this time around. It wouldn’t be strange for one to die on any given day on the Dimensional Battlefield. He had survived last time, because of the ability he had earned. Still, anything could happen. In a blood soaked battlefield, the 10 second was equivalent to gold, but the problem was he couldn’t use it forever.

Once he activated it, it took 2 minutes before he could activate it again. How many times had he almost died between that time? He had trained 2 weeks in casting the barrier, but the duration never increased, and the delay between the activation never decreased.

However, the fact that he could cast a barrier whenever he wanted was very helpful. When he entered the Dimensional Battlefield, he had to check if it was possible to transfer his barrier.

If it was possible, then it would be a great help when he was with Atlan and Vera.

Lee-joonhyuk calmed his heart, and he started preparing himself for his departure to the Dimensional Battlefield. At that moment, he heard a knock.

“Come in.”

He thought there would be no one who would visit him, but he was curious to know who it was. When he spoke, the hospital door opened. A man wearing a suit was standing in the doorway.  Lee-joonhyuk looked at him trying to figure out what he wanted.

When he stepped aside, Kim-oonsuh entered in an electric wheelchair. When she looked back, the men in black closed the door.

Kim-oonsuh saw Lee-joonhyuk, and she adjusted her gla.s.ses. She was in an electric wheelchair, but her haughty att.i.tude was still the same. The looked suited her very much. Lee-joonhyuk carefully spoke to her.

“Are you well enough to move around?”

Kim-oonsuh tapped the electric wheelchair as she spoke.

“This is a new model that was developed recently. ST Capsule’s technology was used to make this new model. It doesn’t stress the back, and one won’t develop any sores. If I’m sitting on this, it is possible for me to start working right now.”

Lee-joonhyuk was able to realize how much power ST Capsule held. Within a week, they modified the Capsule technology to make a wheel chair.

“How’s the project progressing?”

Kim-oonsuh laughed bitterly.

“The project hasn’t pa.s.sed the clinical trial. At the very least, I’ll have to wait half a year.”

He automatically felt sorry for her. She had to spend half a year with half of her body paralyzed.

“I shouldn’t have let you go down on your own. I’m sorry.”

Kim-oonsuh shook her head.

“It was my decision, so let’s not talk about it”

Kim-oonsuh spoke as she looked at Lee-joonhyuk.

“I heard deputy head Jang came to deliver your appointment form.”

“Yes. I was a.s.signed to the Publicity Department.”

Kim-oonsuh quietly stared at Lee-joonhyuk before she spoke.

“If you want, I can transfer you to any department you want.”

Lee-joonhyuk stared back when he heard Kim-oonsuh’s words. She mumbled in a low voice as she looked around the hospital room.

“It wouldn’t be bad if you joined the Strategic Planning Department.”

The Strategic Planning Department was where Kim-oonsuh was. Lee-joonhyuk carefully asked her a question.

“Then I don’t need to be the employee model?”

“No. You have to do that.”

Lee-joonhyuk thought about it for a moment.

“Then I want to join the Strategic Planning Department.”

Kim-oonsuh took a quick glance at Lee-joonhyuk.

“Only the best of the elites can join the Strategic Planning Department. Joining it isn’t a problem, but it won’t be easy for you to adapt.”

“I’ll try my best.”

Kim-oonsuh fixed her gla.s.ses then she spoke.

“Alright. I’ll take the appropriate steps. You’ll have to work really hard.”

“Please leave it to me, and believe in me.”

Lee-joonhyuk spoke confidently. Kim-oonsuh smirked when she saw his face, which was overflowing with confidence. Then she fiddled around with electric wheelchair. The electric wheelchair gently turned around. Kim-oonsuh spoke with her back to Lee-joonhyuk.

“Thank you.”

She spoke in a very small voice. If he hadn’t developed his senses to the extreme in the Dimensional Battlefield, then he wouldn’t have been able to hear the small voice.

Soon, Kim-oonsuh cleared her throat then she spoke.

“Please open the door.”

When the men in suits opened the door, Kim-oonsuh moved through the door. She spoke as she headed out.

“Take care of your body. I’ll see you at the company.”

“When are you being discharged?”

Kim-oonsuh turned her head slightly, then she answered as she tapped her electric wheelchair.

“Since I have this, I don’t need the hospital any more.”

After saying this, Kim-oonsuh left the room. Lee-joonhyuk licked his lips as he saw her leave. She said she didn’t need the hospital, but she still had the cast around her thigh.

He worried about her since she wouldn’t be resting as she recovered. She would be going back to work unlike him.

“Still, I’ll be able to see her again?”

If he was transferred to the Strategic Planning Department, he would have a lot of work to do. However, when he thought about seeing her again, he smiled.

“Of course, this is after I come back alive.”

Lee-joonhyuk laughed bitterly, and he looked outside the window. Darkness had already descended outside, and he could already see some stars.

Today the sky was very clear, and his eyes were drawn to the stars.

“That place probably still has a purple sky.”

Lee-joonhyuk viewed the sky without saying any words. He forgot about controlling his muscles as he took in the view of the sky. When he heard the noise of an alarm, Lee-joonhyuk took out his cellphone.

It was about time for him to depart to the other dimension. Lee-joonhyuk slowly lied down on his bed as he relaxed his body. After an indeterminate time, the pillar of light had formed in front of his eyes.

Once again he was about to jump into the Dimensional Battlefield.
