We finally found the place last night. The elf village.

I had followed the directions that the treants were giving me and it entered my sights as it was nearing night. Ella was the first to notice the huge congregation of Elves that was close by. She was almost drooling as she smelt them out.

With the dwindling of the light I wasn't able to make out much and decided it would be better to go after them tomorrow morning. I couldn't fight that well at night and they had a home ground advantage. I would have to find out a bit of information, before I could attack them.

I moved off a few hundred meters before we set up camp, we had to be extra vigilant tonight on watch; they could have patrols out and about. It was when we were nearing sleep and it was deep into the night, that I saw the small glow that was emanated from the village.

It had 5 meter tall walls made of wood, that blocked off sight from the inside and I was actually surprised that they didn't have huts up in the trees. Guess that was an a.s.sumption from reading and watching manga.

From just above the walls, I could make out the small blue glow that went outwards. They had to have a form of lighting in the village. It was much better than the village in town. They had no electricity. Seeing this, it just reaffirmed my determination to attack in the morning. I couldn't take the risk.

With those thoughts we went to sleep early to gather our strength, there would be multiple elves in the village.

***************

*Boom*

*Boom*

The sound of the ground reverberating woke me up from sleep, as I scrambled up. Ella who had been keeping watch wasn't agitated or afraid, so I knew that it wasn't an attack. Kuro, who had slept a lot closer to the camp last night, was also woken by the sound.

It was coming from the direction of the elf village and we hurried over. We would skip breakfast this morning. Though Ella and I could just eat on the move.

We made our way over in a quiet manner and I had Ella sniff around for any elves in the vicinity. She said there was none near, as we made it to a visible range. It was coming from the north, of where we were, so we had to move around before we finally saw what was happening.

One of the huge gates that was located around the wall was open and a huge congregation of people were making their way out. I couldn't make out their faces, but could tell that they were a rag tag group. Their cloths were torn and tattered in certain parts and looked dirty.

I frowned as I watched on and watched them move further and further to the north. I could see a few elves travel with them, that seemed to direct the huge group in the same directions.

What was going on?

Something was going on but I couldn't tell what. I could only slightly feel the pressure that was being put out from the main elf, who was leading the group. Unlike the rest he stood out like a sore thumb. His clothes were intricate and finely made.

The pressure that I could feel from him, made my danger perception have a reaction. He couldn't feel me from our distance, which was a good thing. This one look had confirmed that not all the elves were easy prey. This person at the lead was strong enough for a tough fight.

This main elf had a broader build and I think I saw a whip coiled at his waist. It was one of the first times I had seen an elf be something other than a mage or archer.

I turned my attention to the other elves that accompanied them and also noticed that they were a cut above the rest.

Where were they going?

There group moved further and further away in an orderly manner and I lost sight of them in a few minutes. I decided not to follow them, as an idea appeared in my head. Judging off the pressure I could feel from those elves, they must have been the strongest in the village.

Whatever they were going to do would take them a while and was important. With this opportunity I would be able to get into the city and take it down easier. Of course this was only an idea and I had to make sure that the elves that stayed were weaker than me.

But if I was correct this was my best chance!

I got excited by the idea and got ready to scale the wall in front of me.

It was a wooden wall that was polished and looked st.u.r.dy. They had a few watch towers scattered over the main gates, to watch for people entering and I couldn't just waltz in. I circled around till I was in the best blind spot I could find.

Pulling back my hand, I focused all my strength into a punch and blasted it out at the wall.

*Boom*

The impact was actually m.u.f.fled and suppressed as a small light shone. It must have been an enchantment that stopped damage. The good thing was it also masked the noise.

Feeling my aching hand and looking at it turn red; I looked at Ella before shaking my head. She still had a bit more strength than me, but even she wouldn't be able to break through this wooden wall.

The only other way, was to scale it or jump it?

I wasn't sure how high I could jump with my improved physique and it was time to put it to the test. Giving a jump I found that I was easily able to make it to the required height, to grab onto the edge. From there I could pull myself over.

I translated my plan over to Ella before grabbing Kuro, I didn't know if she could make it and didn't want to waste time. Ella jumped first and made it up the wall easy. After her, I carried Kuro and got the right height. I threw Kuro onto the wall before grabbing onto it myself.

She threw me an annoyed expression but I only flashed her a smile. It was sometimes fun to be mean like this.

We then quickly jumped over to the other side and ran for a small building to hide ourselves. Hopefully the watch towers didn't see us.

(Entered Tree Walker Elf Village)

That small blue box appeared, as I got my body across the wall and gave me a small start. I stopped and looked at the information, as my mind wondered.

Tree Walker?

Was that the last name of the first elves I killed?

I wasn't sure if my memory was correct or not, but it probably was. But the boxes didn't end there.

(No Protection Applied.)

(Killing Allowed)

I gave a small smile as I had forgotten about the protection period thing. I couldn't kill people in town, but out here I wouldn't have a problem. I dismissed the boxes, as we made our way to look around the village.

The buildings and huts that populated the area were all made out of wood and plants. There was no cement, steel or bricks used, and it made sense as I was dealing with elves.

I stayed on the outskirts to a.s.sess what had been left behind. I actually found…. nothing. It was like a ghost town as I walked around. There was no one in sight and I couldn't hear any noise coming from anywhere.

Feeling that this was weird I made my way to the gate and looked around. There was no one manning the gates for it to open and I think I saw a small magic circle that would open it automatically. The guard towers had no one manning them and I could have easily waltzed in, instead of jumping the wall.

There was something wrong here.

Was there a trap?

Were they waiting for me?

I started to delve into the possibilities as I continued to look around. I soon found a black smith and tailor shop. The equipment wasn't being used and was very old school. With no electrical tools there was the old needle and thread at the tailors and a forging room at the black smiths. The gear in the shop though was all gone. It was an empty shop.

I ran into more empty houses as I looked around. The beds and furniture was still in use and I found regular clothes, but nothing else. The rooms had been left for a little while now. From the insides of the houses I could tell one thing. All the houses that I had come across were used by elves. It was the small things around that led me to the fact.

The clothes, small things such as an ear brushes, yes an ear brush. Nearly all the houses I visited had them and it took me a while to figure out what they were. The weird shape threw me off for a while. As I noticed this fact I started to have other questions.

I knew that these elves were very xenophobic from interrogating some of them. But where were the other races. I was sure there would at least be a few other races. But I could have been wrong. It could be a full elf village. But I could have sworn that the group that left beforehand had some other races in it.

I couldn't see them clearly, but I was sure about this fact.

All three of us, me, Kuro and Ella were looking around in the empty houses, when we found it.
