Kuro was very happy about the fact I was letting her take all the exp, this would be so much easier if I could share exp with her like Ella. Save us a lot of time. But I didn't feel like fighting today anyway.
It was very relaxing to just talk to Ella for the day. I usually spent time teaching her at night, but this would give me more time. I could also help her with the concepts she had trouble with.
This way I spent the whole day teaching Ella new things, while building some stats. As night started to set in, I call for camp and we set up. We kept 4 of the prowlers that we had killed to the side to use now. Setting up the fire pit we all started to eat.
After that was done I pulled out the last globe that was stuck in my pocket. It had been on my mind the whole day. I checked its information and compared it to my ice skill.
(Fire (Active) – LV(1 - 10) – The ability to connect to a plain of existence and control the element Fire. Gives the ability to produce Fire by expending spirit. Puts strain on the connection between host and plain of existence. Connection can destabilize if strained.)
(Ice (Active) – LV(1 - 10) – The ability to connect to a plain of existence and control the element Ice. Gives the ability to produce Ice by expending spirit. Puts strain on the connection between host and plain of existence. Connection can destabilize if strained.)
They were practically identical, probably that G.o.d being lazy again. Or maybe there was nothing else to it. I was surprised when I had found it in the morning; it had dropped from the alpha wolf. And I had no clue why such a skill would drop from its body.
Wolves generally had nothing to do with fire; I mean they were afraid of fire right?
My thought process on the drops from beasts had always been, the skill might have a little to do with the subject, but getting this fire skill threw that right out the window. Not that I mind, I could use this fire skill.
And after asking Kuro about such magic skills, she had given me a brief but detailed description.
She had pointed out that the skills that magicians get when the gain their cla.s.s, would generally be a skill like 'Fire Ball', 'Ice Ball' Ect. These skills would have a certain amount of SPR that was required to use them, and they would then produce a small ball that would be used to attack.
The main things to take away from this description, was the fact that once the SPR was input into the skill, it would instantly create the ball of fire or ice. Whereas for my skill, I had to concentrate and then create such a ball. I could also create other objects, with my imagination as the limit.
I had generally thought my Ice skill wasn't that special until I heard the description, it had also made me realize why it was so hard to use. If the normal skills instantly made the object to be used, what I had was many times better.
I could completely control ice, if I spent enough mental energy, while normal magicians would not. This was a huge advantage if I could master the skill, of course that was easier said than done. But once I truly did master the skill, I would only need to use ice, instead of multiple skills, to do the same thing.
That's why gaining the fire skill from the alpha was such a good windfall. When I had first seen it in the morning, I had been very excited. I would have used it then and there had some doubts not popped up. I mean fire and ice were polar opposite, when it came to elements. I had read enough books in the past to know that they didn't mix.
One of 2 things would happen when I used this skill, they would merge and everything would be fine. But possibly my frozen rage skill would change and be effected badly. Or the 2 elements would reject each other and something I couldn't predict might happen.
It was a risk. And I had spent all day thinking about what could go wrong. In the end when I looked at it, laying in my hand after having dinner, I steeled my mind. I couldn't play everything safe, I had to get stronger and this would help me in that.
I crushed the globe in my hand!
(Fire Skill Obtained!)
(Connection With plain of existence Establishing)
(Error!)
(Ice Skill detected!)
(Conflicting plains of existence Detected)
(Connection Severed!)
I frowned as the flurry of boxes appeared in front of my eyes.
*Sigh*
I couldn't help but sigh, it was as I thought, and with me having the Ice skill, it wasn't possible to get the fire skill.
Well at least something bad didn't happen. Though it did feel like a waste.
With the connection destroyed the globe that I had just crushed did not repair itself and instead a small flame appeared on the top of my palm, resting there.
It looked like it could be blow out in an instance.
d.a.m.n!
I could tell just looking at it, that it would disappear in a few seconds. As I was getting annoyed and regretful, a figure appeared at my side. She was very fast, but I could still keep up with my eyes. The force with which she arrived caused the wind to gale and almost completely put out the flame.
"Whoa. Ella?!"
I spoke out in surprise, as her face zoomed in on the flickering flame. She was so close that it was almost touching her nose. Was something happening here?
It was a bit weird that her face was so close to the flame, her whole attention was fixed onto it. Even my words didn't get through to her.
"Ella?"
"Ella?"
I tired another 2 times, but got no response as the flame was the only thing in her eyes.
I waved my hand to the side with the flame and her eyes followed, why was the flame so important?
Does she want it?
I mean it would save me from wasting the skill.
I didn't get further, as Ella opened her mouth and swallowed the flame whole. I was taken aback at the strange skill acquisition, and watched on as her face heated up and turned red for 10 seconds. After that was done, her skin turned back to normal as if nothing happened.
"Ella?"
This time when I talked to her, she looked in my direction and smiled.
"That was tasty Brother, do you have more?"
I had no response as I looked at her hungry expression. And then the boxes started to appear.
(Kin has acquired Fire Skill!)
(Connection With plain of existence established!)
As I watched on with my spirit vision, a new thread of energy, that was tinted red, flew down from the clouds and connected with Ella's heart. The Red tint of the thread affected all the other threads that were in and around her body and gave them a reddish tint.
It also tried to travel down the purple thread that connects me and Ella. But half way through, the red thread was stopped by an invisible barrier and couldn't proceed. Giving up it went back to her body and settled down.
(Kin's Frozen rage Affected!)
(Frozen Rage lost!)
(Berserk Rage Gained!)
(Berserk Rage replaced Frozen rage! Levels Retained!)
(Fire Skill Leveled!)
(Fire Skill Level 3!)
My eyes went dizzy at all the new boxes as I digested the information.
After understanding what happened, I quickly pulled up her status page and looked at her new skill.
I had been happy that we wouldn't waste the fire skill and that Ella would become stronger.
But now looking at the new 'Berserk Rage' Skill, I wasn't sure if this was a windfall or a disaster.
(Berserk Rage (Shared): LV (5 - 10) – Your rage is uncontrollable and undeniable. When you become angry you lose yourself to become stronger.
