I was groggy in the morning waking up. I kept waking up for the first few hours sleeping, thinking I heard weird noises. I finally got to sleep nearing 12.

I shook my head once or twice before I realized the huge ma.s.s hugging on to me.

Lying next to me was, Ella?

I had to admit I questioned myself for a second, as I stared at the child in front of me. Still sleeping next to me was a 10 year old girl. It was a huge contrast between the 3-4 year old that I went to sleep with, I almost would of thought it was another person, had their hair and skin tone not been similar. As well as the fact that it's not possible for someone else to be in here.

But what is with this insane growth? Her body had shot up by a huge margin. Thank G.o.d her cloths resize to fit her, or they would have burst apart.

I took a quick look at her status.

Her stats had enormously changed!

Is this the true effect of hyper growth? Did she digest all the infected to change her body like this?

Her red eyes opened as I stared at her and she showed me a smile.

Well looking at her stats, she should be able to help me out now.

When she was smaller, it was a trouble for her to keep up with me, even with the increased AGI, now having a bigger body she should be able to fight as well. It would make clearing the hospital easier.

As the thought crossed my mind I got up and cleared up the room. Making it out, I looked at the clock quickly, it was only 4:30, there's about 2-3 hours before the sun comes up.

I quickly did a once over of the 2 stair cases to make sure nothing came up here, then moved back to the meeting room, I had to do something till it got sunny outside.

Looking again at Ella, I decided to teach her how to swing her sword. I had no clue at all how to do it, I was just hacking and thrusting most of them time. But it was better than nothing. So I handed her one of my normal swords and guided her through how to swing.

I only showed her how to swing down hard, or chop, and also how to swing it like a bat. I also showed her how to thrust as that wasn't hard, but I didn't know any other sword moves. So I just repeatedly showed her that. Because of her STR stat she had no problem lifting the sword; the hilt was a bit big for her hands though so she had to use both.

After spending 2 hours teaching her, then eating a small meal, we headed back to the stair case. Going down to 13th floor I busted open the lock and went in.

"Why can't these floors ever be the same?"

Once again the floor was different than the others; I had no clue why, each floor was supposed to share the same d.a.m.n design. But coupled with the research floor, this one looked completely different. There was no security point like the last floor; it was back to a type of reception. Not the same as before though.

Unlike the other floor this one had a lot more infected bodies about, they weren't alive, something had already killed them and eaten them. It wasn't a good sign, it probably meant another infected I hadn't seen before had cropped up.

It sent off warning bells in my head.

No other infected but Ella, had I seen so far, would eat another infected.

Well not that I know of.

There were also claw marks on the wall littered about; the concrete that made up the walls was slashed into. I could see the results of the powerful claws, as the dead infected were mostly in pieces strew around, before then being eaten. This left a lot of blood marks on the floor and walls but not much around them.

The sign hanging above the reception was completely ripped to shreds and I couldn't make out any word, the only thing that was left was (A******* ********). I have no clue what this floor has been up to.

My confidence didn't increase as I realized that like the 14th floor, the windows were tinted not to let light in, for G.o.d sacks what was this hospital into? I searched around the reception for any clues, but came out with nothing.

Moving down the east area I ran into more rooms, that held test tubes and equipment, they also had cages that were placed about, most having been ripped open or destroyed.

"They kept something in them."

Judging by the sizes of the cages, it seemed something had been kept in them?

"Animals?"

It was the most likely reason to have cages, and it wasn't good for me. G.o.d hadn't mentioned if animals or the like would evolve, but I wouldn't put it past him. My heart rate quickened, if the animals had become infected or somehow changed, they would be dangerous.

Many a person had been mauled by dogs, not to mention I had no clue what they kept up here. To lock them in cages meant they were probably a lot more dangerous than just dogs.

After finding the cages and some bloodied paw prints and other tracks around the area, my theory was proven correct. I moved more cautiously after seeing the prints, animals had one thing the infected didn't. They would have speed, it was my only advantage, and I don't know if that'll hold true.

I finished moving through the east area without finding an infected alive, they had been wiped out. I also didn't find any other type of animal, they had completely vanished. I followed their prints for a while hoping to find them before they found me. But they disappeared down one of the hall ways leading out of the reception.

Good thing to note, I hadn't found any other tar than the black stuff, so it looked like there were no ice blasting mutants up here.

Moving to the south I found the same empty reception and dead infected, the animals cleared out this area as well.

They couldn't have moved to another floor right?

It was a scary thought them moving down floors, if they had, it meant they had cleared out all the infected here and eaten them all. Due to the surprise this morning with Ella, I figured that the infected grow from what they eat. Meaning the animals would grow a lot more for having eaten so much.

I pushed on as I had to check this theory, I would have to take out these things before they become too much to handle.

Moving down one of the corridors I finally found a few infected, they were in a locked room at the end of one of the pa.s.sage ways. Probably why the animals didn't get to them, I finished them off quickly while looking at their stats, they were still level 3.

It was a good sign that they hadn't moved to level 4 yet, but it could have been because they had been trapped in the room.

Moving on from them I headed to the west reception and noticed a huge difference. The blood splattered on the ground and the dead infected in the area, were multiple of what I had seen before. The prints of a few animals again showed up, and there were a lot more.

I breathed in deeply to calm myself down and moved after the prints. Because of the numerous blood marks it was easy to track. I followed it into one of the pa.s.sage ways, heading down the corridor. I pa.s.sed quite a few rooms with more dead bodies of infected, mostly chewed through.

Heading down to the last room and the only place where the prints could go, I stopped. I turned to Ella and motioned her to stand back as I quietly stepped over.

Peeking in I finally saw the animals, they were dogs? But why the cages in the other room? Looking at them and the bars, why would the dogs be kept in them?

I focused on them and quickly counted their numbers, the was an enormous amount of 10 of them. Their dark grey fur glistened in the lighting of the room and had blood splashed all over it. It was easy to tell how they had killed the other infected so easily, the pack they traveled in was huge. Anything that ran into this pack of dogs would be torn to shreds.

I used a.n.a.lyze on them to get a rough understanding on what I would have to go against.
