A God's Apocalyptic Entertainment 143 Library Battle Part 2

This may have thrown a wrench in my plans to nullify the archer and mage but we had positioned ourselves in a blind spot, they wouldn't be able to attack us from out there.

*Bang*

I heard the wooden doors get destroyed as they made their way in, I positioned myself a bit away from the door with Ella also near me, Rose was behind us and ready to throw magic support. I didn't want to stand too close to the door, I knew they could literally break through the walls if they wanted too, better not be surprised.

My breath started to slow as I quietly listened to their moving figures. As I thought, they knew where we were. Whoever was tracking us was leading them straight here. The rogue's dagger was in my hand ready to kill, it was our best weapon right now, and our best bet on killing one fast.

If we could take one down it would be great, and I could possibly throw their weapon to Ella, evening the fight, if only a little.

I activated my spirit vision to watch them as they approached, unlike the rogue, which attacked us before; they weren't trying to hide and were easily seen through the walls. I watched the group of 4 figures as they made their way here, 2 of them were bigger than the rest, probably males while the others where females, I couldn't tell.

My heart rate started to quicken as they finally made it outside the door, and then, they stopped. They stood their ground and fanned out. I couldn't go out and attack them, and they had to come to us. I had to wait even though I knew they were so close.

My ears strained as I listened for any words spoken but nothing was said, only the swishing of air. They were using hand movements to communicate! How professional were these guys???

But because they didn't know I had spirit vision they didn't know I could see them. It looked like one of them would go through the door while the other would break one of the walls. I sent a quick message to Ella to inform her to move. If she could surprise the person that breaks the wall, that would be great.

We had the advantage because we didn't have to communicate to talk to each other, they couldn't hear us at all. I also sent a small message to Rose and she nodded her head. A small wooden spike packed full of energy was placed just before the wall.

Rose had tapped into our connection to make the wooden spike; it was different than the usual ones. She had taken the fire energy that Ella possessed and packed it in the wood, she had also made the wooden layer thinner so that when it cracked all the energy would be released.

Rose had told me she learned about doing this sort of thing from one of the books she was reading. I must have totally missed the book because I remembered nothing like this. It was supposedly something that all mages learned at level 10. The skill for it was called 'Cast', which made it possible to build up energy in all mages casting.

Surprisingly before level 10 all mage abilities are instant casts, which was news to me. I had never noticed this fact. Rose with her knowledge and control of energy was able to duplicate this without actually having the skill, like how my Ice ability would let me make an Ice ball without actually having the skill. But it is harder to accomplish.

I was thankfully for it now. As soon as the person smashed down the wall and ran into the sharp spike it would explode out with fire. I didn't think it would kill him, but it was a good distraction and would disrupt their plans.

We continued to wait patiently for the group outside to set forth as I closely watched. Suddenly the person I figured was their leader, that was coming through the door, raised his hand and reached for his EPC.

Warning bells went off in my head as he slowly typed a message. My danger perception went off as I turned my head in the direction of the windows. I couldn't see anyone and no one could shoot at us through them, but a bad feeling strangled my gut.

*Beep*

'Rose Earth Shield the windows!!!'

I screamed at Rose through our connection as I heard the electronic sound of the EPC go off, but it was too late. As soon as the sound was produced and before the wall could be created, an arrow flew and crashed through the window striking the ground a few meters from our position.

*Crash*

It struck the ground and our attention was drawn to it, my spirit vision still active. I knew that a person couldn't have gotten a shot off at us from that window, but he could send something through.

Through my spirit vision I could see the energy that was packed into the arrow, like the earth spike that Rose just created a s.h.i.t ton of energy was packed into the small thing.

'If they are professionals and have been trained in this sort of situation, like the military…..'

A thought crossed my mind as Rose tried to make an earth shield over the arrow.

"Oh f.u.c.k."
