But upon that tiniest slip of her emotion, a poignant expression appeared on Fang Xie's face and he blurted out, “Miss Su, don't you know? Your mother…she pa.s.sed away…” 

In an instant, Su Jishi's brain went blank, “What did you say?”

Gulping nervously, Fang Xie pointed to the retirement letter and carefully chose the most cautious words.

“Three years ago, Su Jin only entered the entertainment circle to raise money for her mother's treatment. In order to make money, she has been especially cooperating with all the jobs given to her by the company…but things like cancer are hard to stop…"
