Chapter 12 – Mu Xiulun (1)
Su Jishi’s debut overseas stunned all fans inside and outside the red carpet.
Clearly, Fang Xie and Ashan had tried their best to make her stick to the pretense, the character which was her own sister. But Su Jishi’s powerful aura was enough to break through the camouflage and intimidate all the people in an instance
Under the guidance of the staff, Su Jishi proceeded down the lounge with the two men.
As soon as the irrelevant people left, Su Jishi immediately showed her true colors. She reclined lazily on the sofa with her legs crossed. Then, she asked with triumph in her eyes, “How did I do, didn’t I humiliate my sister?”
Before she hit the red carpet, Fang Xie became afraid that she’d reveal herself to the fans, so he specially urged her to not interact with any of them.
At this moment, he looked askance, he couldn’t find words to answer her question. Never had he expected that Su Jishi would go to the extreme! By strong momentum, she crushed everyone’s expectations, probably their hearts by not even sparing a smile nor a look.
Fortunately, the invited media were all locals and there were no tabloids, otherwise the news of “Su Jin Being All High and Mighty” would be bombed in the whole world tomorrow.
Fang Xie was very sad. He thought that the sisters would not only have the same face, he never thought that their personalities were so different.
He vaguely mourned — he spent three years to form a “pure white flower” image for Su Jin but now, it would soon be torn to pieces by her sister.
“I heard a word before to describe twins.”
Su Jishi hugged her chest and asked, “What is it?”
“At first glance, there are two steamed buns, but at a closer look, the folds were different.” Ashan said indifferently, his eyes unblinking.
Su Jishi: “….”
Fang Xie: “….”
It was true. Su Jishi and Su Jinqing are two big steamed buns that are all white and fat.
The only good thing is that the perfect steamed buns could only be seen hanging on advertising billboards. Eighteen folds can be made into eight folds without the consumer’s notice — only those who follow her every day will find that the stuffing of steamed buns had changed.
This time, Su Jin was invited to become the Tourism Promotion Amba.s.sador of XX city. According to her schedule, there would be a brief press conference in the lobby later.
Su Jishi would deliver a speech on the stage and sign a contract on the spot. The process would take about half an hour.
The speech was written in advance by Fang Xie. Su Jishi flipped over and brushed it aside with little interest.
Ashan saw this, so he approached her, mustering a sweet, encouraging smile. “Sister Su, do you want to practice for it? Let’s look up words that you can’t read or understand well. “
Su Jishi looked blankly at him, like how sculptures stare back and the latter understood the message, thus left her to herself in a rush.
Did he regard her as an nonintellectual individual? Su Jishi studied in the United States for ten years, and could write 100,000 words of doctoral thesis! She thought to herself.
What is the problem with reading a three-minute speech?
As for public speaking, she wasn’t at all worried. She had attended international geological conferences with her mentor before. Every time her mentor comes up to the stage to give a speech, she was also in charge of a part or two as a deputy. She also had an audience of a thousand people.
A small crowd won’t scare her off, she mused.
Soon, the signing ceremony officially began, and a staff came to invite Su Jishi to take the stage.
Su Jishi stepped on at least five inches of “hate the sky height” heels, and a silk dress that shimmered like water. She adjusted her suit jacket, raised a confident smile and stepped on the platform.
Smooth beautiful sounds flew out from between her lips and teeth. She had already read the three-page speech in advance, and the details were already in her mind. She raised her hand often, and casting it sideways without fear and putting it on her heart when she rendered her thanks.
The local news stations broadcast the whole process, and the photographer slowly pushed the camera closer, from her feet to head, they captured her straight figure. She smiled, her eyebrows lifted, and inadvertently looked at the dark lens facing her.
Soon, she turned to the last page. After her sincerest thanks, her speech finally came to an end.
Su Jishi shook hands with the mayor standing beside her and signed a contract. Many media were invited to the scene. Paparazzi’s camera flashes wrapped her tightly like a vast net.
She hid her face by facing her side, rather unaccustomed to the onslaught of blinding lights.
Squinting slightly, but making effort in smiling, she couldn’t help but wonder — Is this the life of Su Jinqing for three years? The day when she was chased by flashlights was not as easy as she had imagined.
After stepping down from the stage, Su Jishi discovered that her whole palm was slick with sweat. Even though she showed confidence and strength only, her heart was still a little fl.u.s.tered.
Changing into fine clothes and stepping into limelight wasn’t a usual occurrence to her.
In front of everyone, she became another person, an impostor! This is a shocking hoax, and she was the one in the middle of the game.
From the moment she decided to join and stepped on this stage, she threw the chance of going back on her word.
Applause and cheers for her filled the whole area, and it had not subdued by degree when she left the stage.
But to her surprise, under the stage, Fang Xie was in total distress — he buried his face in his hands and said in derangement, “oh, no, no, no, no, no …”
“What’s the matter?” She looked at her body, her clothes were clean, her makeup perfect and her speech, successful.
After a moment, Fang Xie finally lifted his head a little and spoke with breaking voice…
“Before, Su Jin took part in a film jointly made by China and Australia, she was mocked by the whole network because of her English accent problem … Later, we specially invited a foreign speech teacher to give her one-on-one tutoring, and finally she was able to practice fluent English. Last month, she attended the film festival and was praised by foreign media for her authentic accent.”
“So? Isn’t that good?”
“Good? What’s good in this?!” Fang Xie’s face crumpled. “Her foreign oral teacher came from England and she specially learned the British accent!”
Su Jishi, who speaks American English: “….”
