Lu Deng was worried but his eyes suddenly brightened when he heard that. He nodded and opened the shared screen with his left hand.

Although the sharp pain in his right wrist had faded away, his entire arm was still unable to exert any strength, still faintly rocked by uncontrollable tremors. Gu Ting held it for him and slowly rubbed his arm, power pa.s.sing through his palm. The color of blood slowly spread through his irises.

Gu Ting originally thought that the Special Service Office would at least treat their own people well.

The original test time was this morning but he accidentally slept through it. On top of that, he didn’t pay attention to the reminder for the retest time. Now the questions have been sent to him and there was time limit. It was too late to flip through the books.

“It doesn’t matter, I will answer for you.”

Gu Ting chuckled lightly, and simply took the entire person into his arms. He took his right hand into his left palm and then raised his hand to turn the light screen into a simulated test paper, dropping it on the extended table beside the bed.

The textbooks of the “Vampire Compulsory Course” series was one of the only few remaining complied reference material of the vampiric ancestor. Now he was completely in his element answering these questions. He wrote very quickly and with just a few sentences, he had already filled most of the first page of the test questions.

His wrist no longer hurts. Lu Deng was pressed against his chest. As he looked up at the other side’s face profile, looking focused on answering the question, his arms unnoticeably went taut.

A clear smile finally appeared in those black eyes. Lu Huaiye pursed the corners of his lips. He raised his arms to embrace the other around his shoulders and neck. He shook his head, “The outline is done. I can take my time to draw slowly.”

Gu Ting stared at him for a while. His brows stretched out and he drew close and kissed him.

“Then take a good night’s sleep and we’ll paint tomorrow. I’ll model for you. You can’t paint for as long as you want.”

As he said, he had already embraced Lu Huaiye to lay down. He held the person firmly against his chest and skillfully stripped off Lu Huaiye’s clothes for him with one hand.

This kind of start was somewhat familiar. Lu Deng blinked and cooperatively let him take off his clothes. However Gu Ting didn’t continue. He just embraced him against his chest and spread open the blanket. “Go to sleep.”

His embrace was gentle and cool, sweeping away the last trace of summer heat. Lu Deng rubbed his chest lightly and stretched his arms to hug him before closing his eyes contentedly.

The summer night was quiet and the sightseeing ship sailed through the night sky, the stars shining by the edge of the window. Gu Ting hugged him and caressed his back. The power belonging to the dark night quietly penetrated his body, gently gathering him into drowsiness.

Gu Ting lowered his head and kissed his forehead. His fingertips gathered the soft strands of hair and carefully stroked them. He pressed against his forehead and said in a low voice, “If I take you away…”

He didn’t say any more, and this sentence simply trailed off.

Taking into account Lu Huaiye’s ident.i.ty, he had always left him enough time to be by himself. But he didn’t know how many times the other had been in pain when he wasn’t by his side.

The warm body nestled quietly in his arms. His breaths were light and even. He was probably already sound asleep.

He circled the person back into his arms and had Lu Huaiye pillow against his arm. Gu Ting closed his eyes and quietly poured his mental power into his dream.

Vampires have a gentle and romantic approach to this kind of thing. It wasn’t necessarily physical compatibility that const.i.tuted intimacy between them.

Lu Deng woke up under a bright star beam.
