She had just finished getting dress when the doctor arrived, after a sesión of questions, checking her vitals and "revising her aura" or something she didn't understand the doctor came to the conclusion that she was amnesic due to shock in her soul core. Nothing to do, the memories may return by themselves or not.
As this could be life changing news for the "adopted miss" the master of the house was informed but just a cold reply was send via a servant "this changes nothing, Lazuli will travel today" was all it read.
Lazuli got a little happy seeing the little note, at least the writing here is the same, no problems there.
During her talk with the doctor she got to also ask some questions an get some answers so she now roughly knew the situation she was in.
She obviously was either dreaming or had died and transmigrated to another world where people could become immortal by a myriad of ways, being cultivating, magic and asura the mainstreams and more revered three. The body she was inhabiting was also named Lazuli and barely 16 or she would be in the next two days, the law of this place dictated she should be tested and treated according her results, the testing was free on the month of the birthday at the capital so she should travel there that very day, it was a 2 day travel by cart and her "parents" had already made the arrangements.
"Well pumpkin, travel you must even if you fail remember they may not, but I care, I manage to get you this, it's not good quality but it's useful, I also filled it with essentials and some basics books for you to try and study in the way, who knows? Maybe it'll trigger your memories" said Mina as she took Lazuli's hand and put a ring on it "bind it with a drop of blood pumpkin, tell me you remember how"
Lazuli only could shake her head once to answer when Minas shriek like voice exploded "for heavens sake it's like sending a fowl to the slaughter house, what the h.e.l.l are they thinking?! Come here I'll tech you, just promise to read those boring books"
From who knows where Mina took out a needle and p.r.i.c.kled Lazuli's finger.
"Will your blood to make the bond, just think it, try to feel your blood moving to the ring, your body already knows it's just your head that has to remake the connection"
As weird as it sounded Lazuli tried, and as Mina said her body knew even if her head didn't, she willed the blood in to move to the ring an bind it and her blood answered to her call, it fell like a warm sensation from her finger spreading trough the air until reaching the ring, like she could feel everything between her finger and the ring, when the process was completed she felt a connection to the piece of metal in her hand like she knew it inside out from the start, knowledge filled her brain, she suddenly knew it was a low grade storage ring how to use it and all that was inside it, the "s.p.a.ce" inside wasn't too big nor small, roughly 2 square meters, mostly filled with dry food, water skins, some clothes, a little money and 5 books:
A guide to cultivation for beginners
A guide to magic for kids
The path of the asura
The way of a merchant
The Magnificent Albanian Empire
She could even read them on her mind without taking them out, Lazuli looked at Mina with grateful eyes, she had become a log to hold in this troubled waters.
"Of you go pumpkin, we wasted too much time with your issue, the coach will be here shortly, I wish you all the luck in this world"
Mina joined her to the parking s.p.a.ce as it hit her that Lazuli didn't even remember the layout of the house, bitterness and worry crept on her as she felt Lazuli's already slim hopes had grown dimmer.
