****next morning****
Walking out of the inn, Leo went straight to the auction house. Today was the proposed grand auction. He was going to take part in it. On his way to the auction house, he could hear different people talking about the grand auction event.
Getting to the auction house, a huge symbol was placed on the gate which read " Jade Palace". Entering the gate, Leo was shocked to see such a grand building (after all, he hasn't been out of his house before). The designs on the walls of the building showed a knight, sitting on a throne, holding a sword with a radiant light behind him. Without thinking much, it's obvious where the inspiration of this design came from.
Leo walked into the building. He wore a brown cloak, covering himself from head to toe, to avoid unnecessary attention. He entered the reception hall and walked up to a receptionist.
Receptionist: (looking at him with a stern and cold look) what do you want peasant?
Leo: (not minding the insult) I am here for the event.
Receptionist :(looking at Leo with disdain) hmp! Are you sure you want to join the bid or you just came to buy some cheap materials. Or probably to beg the powerhouses that will show up today, for mercy?
Looking at Leo and not getting any response from him, he directed a killing intent towards Leo but Leo remained unfazed.
Hearing the commotion at the reception, an elderly man, probably in his mid 50s, walked out of a room and asked for an explanation. The receptionist hurriedly explained to this man that the kid was a beggar who was looking for a way to get help from a powerhouse.
Not wanting to spoil the reputation of the receptionist and the auction house in general, the man directed a stronger killing intent towards Leo and asked, "Surely, you must have an identification medal".
Leo brought brought out a medal from his storage ring and tossed it to the receptionist.
Receptionist : (*examining the medal* a flaming sword with lightning behind it was engraved on the medal. On the other side of the medal was a name boldly written "LEONARDO") *now shivering* esteemed young master, I am sorry for..
He hadn't finished speaking, he could sense Leo's murderous aura enveloping him. This receptionist, only at the 7th level of the squire realm, had actually angered a 9th level pract.i.tioner, although on the same realm the difference was still quite large.
Of cause, the reason he shivered wasn't because of Leo's level, he had no clue about it, it was his ident.i.ty. As a worker of such a big place, it's natural to put on airs when dealing with customers but if you disrespect the wrong customer, you could lose your life.
Every powerhouse on this continent had an identification medal. These medals represents the powerhouse himself. To disrespect it means disrespecting the powerhouse himself. And the insignia on this medal represents the strongest powerhouse in all four continents, of the red lightning, Duke Edward Gonzales.
Seeing the expression on the receptionist face, the elderly man took the medal from the receptionist, looking at it, his face turned pale. He gave the receptionist a hard slap and ordered, guards, take this man and punish him severely.
The elderly man walked to Leo, with a slight bow, he said "sorry for my reaction earlier young master. I am Marquis Hendrick. The manager of the Jade Palace Auction House. Not getting any reaction from Leo, he said " we are glad to make your acquaintance and here is a small token to represent our new found relationship". He offered Leo a storage card containing 5 million gold.
Leo took the card and finally replied "take me to the bidding room".
People who had seen the exchange earlier didn't really care to know what was happening. After all, only stronger experts could actually cause such an uproar. Although, they only saw a kid, they weren't dumb to understand that he had a powerhouse backing him.
Although Leo had acted unfazed, he was actually extremely joyous about the gains he had made. He didn't like the fact that he was using his father's name to gain favor though.
Hendrick took Leo to a room which had the number 11 on the door. The room had a sofa and a window displaying a center stage. Beside the sofa was a tablet. Hendrick explained the mechanism of the tablet to Leo. This device was not movable as it was mounted on a stand. With a click on some crystal like b.u.t.tons, you could increase a bid in your favor.
Leo sat on the sofa not giving the old man face. Marquis Hendrick, with a slight bow, left the room.
After a few moments of waiting, a young lady walks to the center of the stage. She should be in her mid 20s thought Leo. She had nice curves and d.a.m.n, she was also attractive. Behind her was also a younger girl, probably 13 years old. This must be Hendrick's daughter, thought Leo. Indeed, he was right.
Both women took the stage and announced "Let the Grand Auction Begin".
