“You still get priority of course  Nothing is more important than Director Qiao’s cases ” Yao Nian said obsequiously.

Qiao Mei waved her hand and chased Yao Nian off. She took the doc.u.ments upstairs and read through them carefully. Everything that Shi Rui had done in the past three months was listed down clearly.

Shi Rui had a childhood sweetheart named Sun Shao. He was two years older than Shi Rui and the two of them were very close since they were young. Everyone thought that the two of them were a couple and the villagers a.s.sumed that the two of them would get married in the future.

Sun Shao did not do well in school. Since his parents had many children, he dropped out of school at a young age to help his family with the farming. On the other hand, Shi Rui did quite well in school and her family allowed her to continue studying. Just when Shi Rui graduated from high school, she found out that Sun Shao was going to get married.

Sun Shao had gone to work in another city and met another woman. That woman was very pretty and flirtatious and did not have a permanent place to stay. Sun Shao fell in love with her at first sight, but after they got married, he realized that the woman was very promiscuous and continued to see other men. She even became pregnant with another man’s child.

“Shi Rui is pregnant and she insists it’s Eldest Brother’s child. I think Eldest Aunt will definitely bring Shi Rui to the hospital to cause trouble. We have to find evidence of the truth before they do that,” Qiao Mei said.

“Where is the child’s father now?” Xia Zhe asked.

“In the village in Shi Rui’s hometown.” Qiao Mei and Xia Zhe had a discussion and decided to set off immediately to look for Sun Shao. They were sure that they would be able to make it back before dark.

After more than two hours of traveling, the two of them arrived at Shidong Village. They went looking from house to house and finally found out the exact location of Sun Shao’s house.

Qiao Mei looked at the dilapidated courtyard door and broken fence and frowned slightly. She did not expect Sun Shao to be so poor that he was even worse off than the poorest family in Foshan Village.

“Is Sun Shao at home?” Xia Zhe shouted into the courtyard.
