Qiao Mei counted the four children, Li Gui, Qian'e and Qiao Qiang. After adding herself, that was already eight tickets. She decided to leave out the employees in the factory. Grandpa Zhou treated the Xia family's children like his own children, so they should also give him one ticket. In total, she needed nine tickets!

"Give me nine tickets. I'll also pay for the other tickets that you're giving away," Qiao Mei said.
