Magical Ties 114 Christmas Eve 2

Yona lays on his bed staring at the ceiling . He is thinking of what John said about Crystal and her birth. His heart aches for the young mother and child. Her brother needs to be taught a real lesson. It must have been so hard for the girl. Closing his eyes he thinks about his little adventure with Aisling. The burden she is bearing is a heavy one. She not only tries to take care of this circus of a family but she also has the burden of trying to help the otherworldly as well. He wonders how long she can do it especially while pregnant. His first impression of her was so far from who she actually is. He now sees how special his new little sister is. If only he could meet someone that could light up his world like Aisling has for his brother . He hears the blow dryer going in the bathroom. The girl is almost done. He hears a thud jumping from his bed he runs to the bathroom door. Banging on it trying to get it open. Noticing that it's just a push style lock he runs back to his room. Getting one of the small crochet needles Aisling has in a basket he goes and unlocks the door. The girl is laying on the floor pa.s.sed out. Calling for Moll he picks her up and carries her to his room. Moll rushes up the stairs and sees him carrying her to his room. Calling for Inola to get her bag from the car. Aisling and Charlie come rushing up the steps. Aisling has a gla.s.s of orange juice and a piece of chocolate in her hand. Inola gets there and hands Moll the bag. She gets a glucose meter from her bag and checks her sugar. It's far to low. Getting a dissolvable glucose tablet slipping it into her mouth. Taking her temp she is running a fever but just slightly. Her blood pressure is a little low. The girl begins to open her eyes and tries to sit up. Aisling hands her the gla.s.s of juice.

"Remi when was the last time you ate?" Charlie asks frantically. She puts her hand up as if to say don't ask.

"Charlie looks at Moll to explain.

"Remi works at the casino . She worked a double and most likely hasn't eaten since leaving the house yesterday. She gets extremely low blood sugar when she doesn't eat. Ever since she had gestational Diabetes with Crystal. That's why Aisling brought juice and chocolate,just incase her sugar needed a boost. " Moll nods and says for her to rest and she will take another sugar test in a bit. She turns to Aisling and asks if she could bring her something to eat . Salali volunteers to go make her a plate. Crystal climbs up on the bed and hugs her mommy.

"You know you should eat. I wish you would take better care. Can we fine you a better job." Remi smiles at her daughter and nods her head. Kissing her forehead. Remi tried to get up but Yona stops her.

"Where do you think your going? Moll says you are to rest. You can stay right there no one will be upset that your here." Her eyes get big and she shakes her head no and points to another room.

"This is my room for now and I say you can stay right there. When you are done eating take a nap I will wake you when the actual festivities start . Do not argue or try to get up till Moll says it's ok." With that he sends everyone out of his room and closes the door. Leaving Remi to rest for a while. When Salali goes upstairs with a tray Remi is already asleep. Leaving the tray by the bedside she goes back down stairs. They are finishing up the last of the preparations for the evening's festivities when Moll goes up to check on Remi . She has eaten and was back to sleep. Charlie comes in to check on her.

"How is she?" Moll turns to look at her.

"She will be ok her color is better and her temperature is down. "Moll p.r.i.c.ks her finger and checks her sugar.

"Sugar is back to normal. She will be fine with some rest. Why doesn't she talk? I noticed she only smiles nods and no one really asks her anything that she needs to answer. " Charlie begins to cry.

"My girl used to be so out going and fun. She could light up a room. Then when the incident happened she stopped talking except for one word answers. She works at the casino as a bus person so she doesn't have to speak to anyone. She hasn't spoken more that a word or two since high school. We don't notice because we have gotten used to her . She gets bullied at work because people think she is stupid since she doesn't talk." Moll pats Charlie's hand in encouragement.

"Has she had therapy since the incident?"

"No not really she was hospitalized for a few months due to the injuries and they gave her some counseling while there but not since." Moll looks at her and sighs

"She needs therapy to get past it. Try to get her to do it. I'm sure if you explain things to Aisling she will help you guys figure something out. " when Moll turns she sees Yona . Yona has an angry look on his face .

"The boys who cornered her were they ever brought to justice?" His voice sounds like a knife cutting through the air.

Charlie shakes her head no that since they could not get her to talk no one knows who they are.

"Did they even do a **** kit on her?" Charlie looks at him with a surprised expression. How does this stranger know anything.

"Yes they did but since they could not get her to talk there is nothing they could do. Why do you care anyway you don't know her?"

"I care because she is Aisling's family also you are allowing your son to mistreat her and Crystal . That is unacceptable. Your son sneeringly told me that she got knocked up. If he will say that to a stranger. What else do you think he is saying. He mistreated Crystal earlier, because he wanted to do something fun. If your not going to protect her from her own sibling , then how can you expect her to want to get better. " Moll notices that his anger is not just at the boy Thomas but also at Charlie. She wonders why he is getting so upset about.

"It's Christmas Eve why don't we go down and have a good night . " by this time Remi has woken up to hear what Yona had to say . She is looking at him with tears of sadness for her baby girl. She goes to get up and he is there to give her his hand. She looks up at him with a Frightened look. She nods and goes out of the room to let her come out on her own.
