Each step forward drained a little life out of him as blood trickled out behind him. If anybody saw him, they'd wonder where the blood was coming from, he looked relatively unscathed as he moved forward.
Only when he pa.s.sed them would they see the flesh on his back severely shaved off.
He'd drawn Jormugandr to the gate. With its size and speed, once it was within kilometer from the gate it wouldn't be able to stop itself from crashing into it even if it wanted to, problem was that he was standing between it and the entrance.
The rest of the distance was covered in less time than Zhao Wei could even prepare to get out of the way, he couldn't even if he wanted to as the wind near the walls weren't strong enough to give him the push him and his board needed. So... he decided to wait for it instead.
Right at the last second just before it's body grounded Zhao Wei into meat paste, he stretched his right arm out. From it he activated his wire trap, letting it extend towards the entrance wall, once it reached there, a wrap trap activated on it's end, wrapping it's glowing tentacles against anything it could hold.
With all the strength he could muster he pulled himself out of it's way and reached the wall just in the nick of time, avoiding any contact with it. Zhao Wei couldn't help but be a little proud of the fact that he'd survived this so far.
Just as he thought he was in the clear, with the rest of it's body following it's head into the hole. One of it's scales got close to him, just brushing against him as it pa.s.sed by. It was so light and quick, if people saw it, unless they got a real good close up on the occurrence they wouldn't have noticed it happen.
But this one "light" brush with it's scale almost killed him. He saw it coming, but in this position he really had nowhere else to go. So he pressed his body against the wall as much as he could, if he hadn't the flesh might've been shaved down all the way to his spine.
He was losing blood too quick, too fast. But in his mind was only the next phase of this hunt. So far it'd only been a stalling and avoiding, he needed to get into the kingdom while it was still inside.
Just as he reached the kingdom, right as he was bending down to begin his climb. He tipped over the edge, consciousness fading.

They could all feel it from the other side of the kingdom. Every 30 minutes or so there would be a loud thump in the area of the entrance. It was so powerful that the sand where they stood would bounce as a small earthquake would pa.s.s.
The rocks near the entrance had started to crumble, the mouth of he entrance, that infinite darkness was expanding slowly but surely. Before, it was only about one tenth the size of the one outside, but now it was almost half way there.
They were almost done with the first climb, 80% of them were already up and moving towards the other edge to begin their climb down into the desert.
Some stood behind, few of them helping pull up those who were still climbing. While the rest just wanted to see the last vestiges of their kingdom, their home for the last time.
By now 9 hours in total had pa.s.sed and even those who were stationed on the walls were getting extremely exhausted.
And even Guru himself was getting drained, he didn't say anything, but those who were waiting above knew that it was different.
At first, his throws were controlled, the Naga civilian he threw would land perfectly and nicely in their arms. But now slowly but surely it was changing, many of his throws became a little too strong, requiring them to put much more effort in softening the landing. And many times they had to move quickly like a quarter back chasing the ball because the aim was off.
But they knew they had no right to complain, they were working in several teams, while he alone was lobbing people up as fast as he could. Even if he was a monster there was a limit to how far he could take himself, in the first place he wasn't even a strength type.
At some point the guys in the carriage woke up one after another. Myra was a great blessing in this moment as she could suck up several people at a time before bringing them up the wall and dropping them off.
With Panda it was a little different, with her size, she was only effective at carrying children up. With her new found strength each jump would allow her to finish the distance with no problems.
Thirteen could only take care of herself with her physical strength, climbing up the wall like she was moving on a flat surface. But Kitsi on the other hand had gone missing.
