This was Zhao Wei's new trap called "Flaming silk trap", the name came from when Zhao Wei accidentally cut himself while testing it. Despite using a glove it cut all the way through the layer and would've taken a piece from his finger if he hadn't had such sensitive senses. But the result from the cut made it feel like he'd just touched fire.
It was ridiculously sharp to the extent that if people threw anything at it, there was small chance that they'd be getting it back in one piece. Actually the trap this time had been a part of two traps he made. One was the Flaming silk trap while the other was a trigger trap. It was pretty difficult to make as he hadn't really understood the whole trap creation process, but with the application of his will it was somehow formed. Basically it was a remote detonator for his traps.
It was a pretty useless new trap on it's own, but with it once he connected it to other traps, it was like playing at a whole different level.
This situation completely showed it's capabilities as if he didn't add it in there'd only be one wall of Flaming silk Traps and the attackers could always retreat. But once they found the trap, they would activate the trigger which erected the other wall behind them, locking them in.
Once they were in such an enclosed s.p.a.ce with so many people, it didn't take long for panic and hysteria to settle in. Any who tried to check for exits on the walls and floor would be met with Bite traps and the new barb wrap traps and thin wrap traps which although not fatal most of the time really did a number on anyone who activated it.
But Zhao Wei was not a fan of prolonged pain, although it was usually fatal, the emphasis was on the word "usually". With Zhao Wei's nature of preparation and observation since he'd been in the forest there was no way these people were just being randomly attacked by traps.
No, the traps took into account the general avaeeage height of the Naga, how they moved and even fell. Each Of the Wrap Traps, new or not we're set perfectly so that when they were "accidentally" activated they would just wrap around the victim's head and neck. The thin wrap traps were exceptionally brutal here. It's strength and thin tentacles combined allowed it to easily crush the wind pipes of his enemies some even cutting their jugulars causing them all to have slow but painful death either by suffocation or blood loss. Those who met the Bite traps were lucky in comparison as it'd take the meat clean off.
One unlucky fellow accidentally activated a wrap trap on the ground which tripped him and made him fall exactly on a Bite Trap, his head was decapitated, neck and all cleanly as if it had never been there.
But the festivities weren't done yet, it was just beginning.

In one of the areas, the leader was keeping the calm of everyone involved. It was completely new to them, they had worked in the dark for so long that they should be used to it. But for some reason they found themselves fumbling around like children in the dark.
"Everton sound off!!" He shouted.
"1!"
"2!"
"3.."
"...."
He did this every few minutes to make sure of the areas where there were a lot of traps. They had only 13 people by now but if he could just keep them alive a little longer maybe they can figure something out.
"Sound off again!!" He said after 4 minutes
"1!"
"2!"
"3!"
....
"11!"
...
n.o.body answered after that, "d.a.m.n!! I told all of you not to move around so much, do you want to be wiped out!?"
"Umm... sir?" A frightened voice sounded of from the back.
"What!?" He asked on edge.
"Number 12 was behind me just now... he didn't move at all just now... his body's gone" the man stammered as he tried to get the information out.
A chill ran up everyone's spine, something was here with them and it was picking them off one by one. Worst of all, it seemed to be able to move around without any trouble while a wrong move on their part would signal death to wait for them.
What they didn't see may just keep them alive a little longer, because if they saw the form of the beast hunting them, they might just decide to throw themselves at the sharp strings.
