Nala, who finally noticed kitty's existence turned to look at kitty. Upon seeing kitty's reliable and heroic figure, Nala calmed down and nodded. Kitty is very amazing. Even without doing anything, kitty can bring salvation to a girl's heart.
…
The following scene can be described as a common gang fight.
On one side was 20 bandits, all at the mid to late levels of the unforgiving mortality stage.
On the other side were the guards of the children of 2 out of 3 of the great families in Haradur city, along with Seth.
Actually, with Seth, a 11 year old brat jumping around knocking grown men flying, purposely holding back to show off his gallantry to a pair of little girls, this fight has already turned into something a little different from the common gang fight.
Out of all the combatants here, Seth was the only one beating people up with his bare hands. All the bandits and guards were either using swords or sabers.
"D*mn it! D*mn it!" Thuck kept cursing. He did not know how such a simple mission turned into such a mess. If only that stupid little girl from the Bilin family wasn't here to interfere!
Suddenly, when Thuck was about to charge forward to cut down at Seth with his sword, he felt a heavy impact strike his back, causing the world before his eyes to spin and his own body to be shoved through the air. He pa.s.sed right by Seth, and ultimately smashed into the wooden wall beyond!
Thuck's eyes rolled back. "F***kkk..." He thought before pa.s.sing out.
...
Haradur city is one of many mortal cities, and almost every city has a city square for tourists to pa.s.s through. Experts that roam the world may occasionally pa.s.s through these city squares.
Grave robber A had heard about a treasure having been buried in an area not too far outside of Haradur city.
Thus, he went out into those barren lands in search of it.
He spent many days digging through the dirt, creating one pitfall after another, turning the land into a beehive, while cutting down whatever creeps or wild monsters dared to hinder his work. In the end, he dug up a sarcophagus full of treasure.
Even after tossing the mummified corpse that was inside the sarcophagus into a dirty corner, there was still quite a large amount inside.
As he traveled back to human civilization, he put all the items that he had on his body into the sarcophagus for an easier carry. He even put his shovel, emergency rations, and all his other miscellaneous stuff in there.
After all, in this world, treasures that can connect to other s.p.a.ces to store items are pricey enough that even a greater immortal stage cultivator, a cultivator at the Overflowing Vitality stage, cannot casually afford one.
"Next time I stay at a supreme city, I will definitely purchase a storage treasure, even if I have to empty out all my savings!" Grave robber A thought as he ran around the city today, searching for the sarcophagus that he had somehow lost. In the process, he had beaten up several innocent robbers that he thought might have been the culprits, but to no avail.
Finally, grave robber A was tired. He also felt hungry. His wallet was inside that sarcophagus, so now that he has lost it, he could not even afford any food.
Upon finding a restaurant, or rather, a cafe, he just laid at the front, acting like a homeless hobo. He thought that once enough time pa.s.ses, an employee from the cafe would come out to drive him away, to stop him from obstructing business. Once that happens, he will stubbornly stay, arguing that this street belongs to n.o.body!
Failing to drive the hobo away with words, the employee will then resort to force!
Once the employee gets physical with him, grave robber A will reveal his true power! With this just cause of self-defense, and this act of intimidation, he will force the cafe into providing him free food!
It was the perfect plan... until a bunch of d*mned bandits stormed into the cafe, kicking the hobo him aside to get him out of the way.
Grave robber A, with the strong body that he has gotten from his martial cultivation, did not feel any pain from that kick.
But that was not the problem.
The problem was where that bandit's kick had landed him... right next to a tree stump.
Like many other big animals, dogs have a habit of marking their territory. The way they do so is by p.i.s.sing on, not only fire hydrants, but anything that sticks out of the ground.
When the still lethargic grave robber A saw that dog walk up to the fire hydrant that was right near his head, when he saw it raise one of its hind legs, when he felt that warm liquid doing splash damage to the top of his head...
Grave robber A had never hated dogs as much as he did today.
Before the dog could leave, grave robber A had grabbed its hind leg.
Then, in a rage, he threw the dog like a shuriken at one of the bandits fighting inside the cafe.
The dog's at fault. The bandits are at fault. Everyone's to blame! Grave robber A decided to vent all his frustrations of today!
Yelping, the dog slammed into the bandit. The bandit and the dog flew through the air, slamming into a wooden wall, becoming fixed into it, one over the other, like some kind of splat art.
Grave robber A threw himself into the fray, grabbing one bandit after another and sticking them into the ground! Let them all know what it feels like to be a fire hydrant!
With a cultivator of the fourth stage entering into the brawl, the chaos only intensified!
…
"Hey wait! Hobo, hit the bandits, not the guys with the "Z"s on their armors. Those guys are mine!" Seth shouted as he fought.
Without using certain information prying spells, or without being able to view the cultivator fighting, it would be difficult to tell anyone's cultivation level. Even Seth felt slightly surprised when he found out that the hobo that was lying outside the cafe was actually an overflowing vitality stage cultivator.
Although the hobo doesn't seem out to kill, only to badly injure, Seth decided that he should quickly finish this before any more of his subordinates get accidentally stuffed into the ground.
Seth used one of his hands like one would a spear, and stabbed into a bandit's guts, breaking through armor and flesh with little resistance.
The bandit groaned in pain. His eyes turned bloodshot and he was about to put up a last ditch struggle... However, before he could, Seth had already brutally pulled out a bundle of his intestines and kicked him away.
The bandit laid on the cafe floor, convulsing. A pool of blood spread out, and soon, lying within that pool of blood, that bandit died.
For a moment, the grotesque scene stunned almost everyone.
Then, there were screams.
The customers that did not manage to make it out before, and were now crouching in some corners of the cafe, or were hiding behind some overturned tables, screamed in horror.
The little girl who was still afraid of seeing blood grabbed the kitty besides her to shield her eyes as she trembled, while the other little girl who was calmly watching this brawl showed excitement in her eyes. She became like a fangirl attending the concert of her favorite idols...
The other bandits let out screams of rage. Some of them ditched their opponents and rushed at Seth, disregarding the slashes that were coming at their backs.
That was how bandits were. As long as they don't see an overwhelming disparity in strength. If one of their sworn brothers died, then they would surely be out for revenge.
To Seth, it was a joke that sinners like them cared so much for brotherhood.
None of the bandits were quick-witted enough to notice the fact that Seth had not used any weapons, but only his bare hands, to stab through the plate armor of their fellow bandit. Otherwise, they would not have been so brave.
What followed was a slaughter.
Seth's hands that were covered in blood seemed to become sharper than the sharpest knife. He dodged the blades of his opponents while plunging his own hands into their flesh.
It wasn't until one of their fellow bandits was bisected at the waist, that the other bandits finally noticed.
Faces filled with fear, they screamed. "This kid is a freakkk!"
"Not even a peak unforgiving mortality stage can cut through armor with his bare hands... This kid has to be an entire stage above. Peak of heroic bearings!"
"F***! They didn't tell us anything about this!"
"They tricked us! Run!"
"F***ing Bilin family old man... You'll pay for this... I'm going to kill your granddaughter! ...Ahhh!"
"Hey, don't kill someone I've taken a liking to..." Seth said as he chopped down a bandit that had stupidly gone after Irene.
He watched as the other bandits tried to flee... only to run into the hobo and get planted into the ground.
Seth went to finish off the other bandits.
Before long, all the bandits were either stuck in the ground, or dead in a pool of their own blood.
…
"Kid, I can tell from your movements, that you are only at the beginning of the heroic bearings stage. You must have a transparent glove type treasure to stab through metal armor with your bare hands. Give it to me and I won't have to beat it off of you..." The hobo said after he finished his job of planting bandits.
The bandits that were stabbed into the ground headfirst, were swinging their legs around, struggling to get free. With their arms stuffed into the ground as well, they were barely able make any progress. Seth wondered whether they will escape first, or suffocate to death first.
Normally, if a person gets stabbed headfirst into the ground, they would die. But in this case, the hobo must have crack the ground first somehow, each time before he stuffed a bandit in, allowing them to survive.
As for how Seth would deal with the hobo's threat...
"How about I pay for your meal?"
"Seem like you want it the hard way... *Grumble* ...Alright..."
The feeling of his stomach being eaten away at by his stomach acid won over his desire for treasure.
Even if Seth really did have such a treasure, it would only be worth a lot to 2nd and 3rd stage cultivators. To a 4th stage cultivator like grave robber A, it would only be worth as much as its market price...
After that, the hobo ordered a whole buffet's worth of food from the cafe staff.
The number of dishes ordered was something that would bankrupt the average family living in Haradur city.
Seth did not mind however. He had saw plenty of money in that sarcophagus that Gelard had brought back.
Instead, he looked to the bandits that were still alive and kicking.
With a cold voice, Seth ordered his subordinates. "Kill them off."
"Oy Oy. You're going to kill off the people that I let live?" The hobo said unhappily while chewing a fried chicken thigh.
"How about dessert?"
"Oo... Give me a meat pie." Apparent, the bandits' lives were worth less than a meat pie...
The bandits were stuffed into the ground upside-down, all the way to their waists. For a moment, the 8 guards from the Zefer family did not know where to stab at... In the end, with very solemn expressions, like inserting a sword in a stone, they...
The remaining bandits died one after another, letting out m.u.f.fled screams from their mouths underground.
It was a very pitiful way to die.
The hobo, who was previously starving, ate very fast. He was stuffed full not long after Seth's men had finished their execution work. Then, he left, leaving behind half a buffet full of food that was untouched...
The cafe turned relatively peaceful.
The only people that were left here were the 3 kids, their guards, and the cafe staff that had begun cleaning up the cafe with uncomfortable expressions on their faces.
