Roden, Mahlia and the children smiled brightly the moment they saw Jessy entered the room. They were forever grateful to their benefactor.
"Aunt Jessy is here!" the smiling girl said.
"h.e.l.lo guys, wazzup? How's everyone today?" she asked beaming. "h.e.l.lo kids!" she greeted the children and patted their heads gently.
"Were all fine here," Mahlia replied. "How about you?" she asked.
"I'm perfectly fine, thanks for asking," Jessy responded.
Roden looked at his wife. "I need to talk with Jessy privately. Wife, please bring the kids outside," he ordered.
Mahlia nods her head. "Alright, kids let's go outside and play," she said.
The children and their mother exited the door.
Jessy looked at Roden. "Do tell me, what happens the moment you and the king were left alone here in the cave?"
Roden sighed. In his mind, he can still remember when the king challenged him to a fight, but he kept his head fixed on the ground not wanting to fight. He kept repeating to the king what he had promised to her dying mother that he won't fight back, nor seek revenge, he just wants to live in peace with his family and his surviving clan member. He was adamant to follow his oath to his dying mother to the very end. The king was furious, but Roden held his ground. In the end, the king relented and stopped challenging him to a fight. The king was somehow impressed by his unwavering principle of avoiding fighting and war.
Roden began narrating to Jessy what took place in the cave during those times.
"It went like this...The king challenged me to a fight to the death, but I don't want to fight. He either has to kill me defenseless and be done with it. He was silent for a few minutes looking at me. I can see in his eyes that he was having a serious mental debate whether to kill me or not. In the end, he smiled at me and patted me on my shoulder telling my face that he find me a much better leader compare to my father and brother and that we are lovers of peace and we should unite as brothers. And he also told me that if I will pledge my loyalty to him he will take care of me, my family and my entire clan. So, when I told him that I will follow and obey everything he wants me to do, he finally accepted me and we get out of the cave together to the delight of my family and the rest of my clan. You should have seen how happy my people the moment they saw me still alive and breathing. The king announced to everyone that from that day on forward, the two clans will unite as one. The savage vampire will no longer exist, their memories are already buried in the past," he concluded his story.
"Wow, nice to hear that!" Jessy was very pleased to hear what transpired between King Antone and Roden during that scary moment which left her powerless to do anything. "I thought the king would end your life, it made me upset for a while because I promised you safety...yet..." her voice trailed off.
"You can't blame the king, after all, that he'd been through he was still hunted by the past. Besides I'm the son of his mortal enemy naturally he would kill me. In the end, he showed me that he is the rightful leader of all vampires. I was amazed and thankful that he spared my life, although I'm willing to sacrifice my life for the safety of my clan," Roden said.
"I'm also glad that everything ends well," Jessy smiled.
Then Roden's face turned sad.
"Why that sad face?" she asked.
Roden sighed heavily. "This sad face is for my brother that I imprisoned inside the bottle. I'm worried about his mental health inside the bottle." He looked at her with pleading eyes. "Jess, I know that it's too much to ask because you already had done so much for me and my clan. But right now I'm begging you please...give my brother a second chance. He was just a kid mentally derailed with revenge and obsession towards you," he tried to explain.
Jessy took a deep breath. "You forgot that he was supposed to erase my memories with your help. I'm still upset by it, what if he succeeded in doing so?"
"No. It won't happen. He will never succeed because he doesn't have the capabilities of erasing memories. In our family it's only me and my mother who has the skill to do it," Roden explained.
"I will think about your request. But I can't promise you anything. I still have to decide what punishment I can give him. If I have to end his life then it will be my decision," she said. Right now she doesn't want to think about Jagger. But at some point in time, she knows she will have to deal with him. "What are the chances of Jagger doing mischief again after getting out of the bottle?" she finally asked.
Roden's face brightens up a bit, her question seems to be hinting that she will eventually free his brother from the bottle one day. "I can offer you a solution..." he said right away.
"What is it?"
"I know that you can't kill my brother..."
"And why is that?" her eyes darken instantly.
"Because if you want to kill my brother you already did, no question ask..."
Jessy fell silent. Does she have full intention to kill Jagger or she doesn't have the heart to do it? Maybe because she had used him to locate his brother's hideout. Her lips pouted, whatever... she needs to punish him. He had no right to even think of erasing her memory just because he wanted her to be his wife. That's a foolish and shameless thing to do to someone who saved his life.
