The bonfire was slowly fading away.
It was midnight when they finally stopped swimming and returned to the mansion, they have a shower and prepare to sleep.
"You can sleep here in my room, bro," Adam said. He took a new bed sheet, blanket, and pillowcase from the cabinet and handed them to Caden. "You can change the bedsheet and the rest with these new ones here. Nana doesn't always change the bed sheet periodically since we barely use the rooms," he said.
"And you—where are you going to sleep?" asked Caden smirking.
"I'm going to sleep in my boo's room," Adam grinned smugly.
"Okay, have fun making babies!" Caden chuckled.
"And have fun with the cooties!" Adam laughed and left the room.
Caden was left in the room scratching his head, he went to Adam's bed and checked the bed for any sign of cooties, finding none, he began changing the bed cover and all. Done with the task, he lies down in the bed and wrapped the blanket around his body looking forward to a peaceful sleep.
In Jessy's bedroom.
She was drying her hair, it takes a long time to dry her long hair.
"Just be still Jess, I will blast your hair with my supersonic wind it will be dry within seconds trust me," Adam suggested.
Jessy gave Adam a tepid look. "No thanks, my scalp will be gone as well within seconds if you used your supersonic wind, I want to dry my hair the normal way," she said.
They both looked at the electric fan that was seldom used, under the normal day the room isn't stuffy because the surrounding trees produce enough cool breeze to ventilate the house, besides, the ceiling is high and there's enough s.p.a.ce for the air to circulate, Adam plugged the socket and problem solved.
While waiting for Jessy's hair to dry so that they can sleep, they talked about everything.
"Do you think Grandpa Waldo will stay here longer?" Jessy asked.
Adam nodded his head. "Of course! He loves the place already and looks like he and Nana Aida hit it off well. We will know after one week, we will visit here again to see how are they doing. Grandpa Waldo is a good man and I'm sure Nana will appreciate the opportunity to have a permanent company here every day since this house is awfully big to maintain for just one woman," he said.
"I guess you are right, my observation is that they were warming up to each other already and hopefully they can be good friends and work in harmony when it comes to the household ch.o.r.es. I have to introduce Grandpa Waldo to my rose garden tomorrow," Jessy said while yawning, she's feeling sleepy already. Good thing her hair was already getting dry.
Adam took the comb from her hands and he starts combing her hair. "How's my brother and Hannah?"
Oh, she was a bit busy and was not able to drop by at Hannah and Zain's prison room. "OMG! I'm a bit busy nowadays, I wasn't able to check on those two lovebirds," she answered. "I guess they're okay...if something's wrong with them Abigail will surely inform me about it," Jessy said.
"Never mind. I will drop a visit in the Facility one of these days if I am no longer busy and see my brother with my own two eyes," he said.
Jessy smiled. "That's good...I'm always looking forward to your visit."
"Was there any major happenings in the Facility this week?" Adam asked.
Jessy nods her head. "Yes, there was a major event that happened in the last few days. We rescued about forty-three men and women that were imprisoned in the cages...we located them deep down in the caves hidden beneath the mountains...far away from the Facility. They were held against their will and become the savages source of blood supply. We are planning to nourished them back to health before releasing them to their families. Your mother agreed to erase their memories so that they won't be able to tell other people about the Facility and the ident.i.ty of the people who abducted them, we have to silence the kidnap victims and make sure they have no knowledge who abducted them and where they were being held and who rescued them, it's the only way we can protect the Facility and the Habitat from being attacked by enemies," Jessy explained.
"So the remaining vampire savages hiding near the Facility? Are they planning to attack the Facility?" Adam asked frowning.
"I dunno about their intention, but I'm sure of one thing they were also hiding and trying to survive just like the vampires in the Facility were doing," Jessy answered.
"Hmm, they were not as lucky compared to us," Adam commented, he put down the comb in the table after noticing that Jessy's hair was already dry.
"Yes I agree with you, we are indeed the last surviving vampire clan when the Facility will fall apart, others may survive a bit longer but eventually they will start to perish one by one," Jessy claimed.
"And how is the blood transfusion doing?"
"Just fine, I'm averaging four to five blood transfusion a day, sometimes I can go as many as six but not all the time..."
"You should stay in the safe limit, Jess. Remember that you're blood is precious, sometimes I wonder how you're coping up with so much blood coming out from your body," he said with worry leaping up from his eyes.
"Hey, don't worry much, I always stay within my safety zone," she caresses his face to wipe his worries away.
Adam sneaked his hands around his girlfriend's waist and kissed her cheeks. "Are you tired?"
"Yes, I'm tired due to our vigorous swimming activity earlier, why?"
Adam grinned. "I'm tired too, let's just sleep tonight, next week then, or maybe I can visit you in the Facility," he said. "Your hair is already dry, let's sleep my honey pie," he said.
Jessy giggled. "Who's honey pie?"
"You—who else?" he had this irresistible urge to kiss her senseless, but now tonight, they were tired and they both needed a long sleep. He scooped Jessy in his arms and lay her down in the bed. "Let's sleep honey pie, 'coz tomorrow we will go our separate ways again, let's spend our time cuddling each other to sleep," he said.
"Okay, let's sleep and dream of each other," Jessy murmured as her eyelids were dropping fast. "Goodnight!" she said and sleep in his sweet embrace.
"Goodnight, Jess, I love you," he whispered.
