Birthday.

This day would be a memorable occasion for any young mortals or even martial artists that would make them feel happy and contented. But this seems to be not the case for the thirteen year old Arthur.

Instead of waking up early and rushing out of his room like a madman—

He was sitting on the roof... Thinking about something as he watch the sun rise in the horizon.

A tinge of sadness yet resolute and unswerving look appeared in his eyes.

He hated himself for not being able to stand up to those who oppress him!

He hated himself for not having the strength to be close to the person whom he wants to be close with!

He hated himself... for being weak.

But instead of being disappointed. Arthur firmly resolved himself to overcome his sh.e.l.l of weakness and probably become someone like the legendary Empyrean Sovereign Fleeting Chaos who was said to be an ordinary mortal at first but, suddenly, he underwent a heavenly transformation and became an unparalled existence.

Of course, Arthur do not believe in this ridiculous legend. n.o.body can become a G.o.d in a year or even thousands of years, right?

"Was my brain accidentally crushed in my sleep? Why am I even thinking of these foolish things.", Arthur said inwardly to himself, then he jumped down from the roof.

Night.

Even though it was Arthur's birthday, except for receiving gifts and eating an extra delicious foods, it wasn't any different from any other day of his life as a martial artist— well, to him atleast.

This morning, when he was about to go to school his father told him to just stay at home and enjoy his birthday so he did, but he did not enjoy sitting in a chair and opening gifts like a 2 year old.

So he sneakily went out and just went to school instead of staying there, he felt sorry for his father though, who probably consumed a decent effor preparing for his birthday.

Well, forget about those for a while, he want to learn!

Entering the cla.s.sroom, Arthur immediately thought to himself, 'I wonder what those idiots are gonna say this time.'

"When did you become so important that you actually dared to be late again! In aunty's cla.s.s on top of that!", this was one of the idiots Arthur was referring to, Pao Bluan, and the aunty he was referring to was Shai Bluan.

"I think its because it's his birthday today.", this idiot who spoke this time was the one who was repressed by Roose Jade. He was really unlucky because he got into Roose Jade's bad side and he blamed it all on Arthur, since then he swore to completely grind this trash like the garbage he was.

"Oh? Is that so? I didn't know that trash have birthdays.", said Pao Bluan with a mocking tone.

"Hahaha... That was a good one Brother Pao!", the two companions of Pao Bluan including the one who got repressed by Roose Jade broke into a fit of laughter.

Arthur only smiled at this and said, "Yeah, trash also have origins."

He then looked at the three people who are smirking like idiots including Pao Bluan.

"And I'm looking at them right now."

With these last sentences of Arthur, the whole cla.s.s then went into a fit of laughter. Except for the four who immediately had their elated faces trampled on. If Roose Jade were here, she would probably stare at them until their dead. But she was in the Vermillion Family's Residence happily celebrating Arthur's birthday with her father.

"You!", Pao Bluan couldn't bear the anger and shame anymore as he had been the one making fun of Arthur from the start but he suddenly became the laughing stock of the cla.s.s.

The three who were laughing also grimly said, "You're courting death—"

"Silence!"

A single word broke the fight that was about to broke out.

The one who spoke was the aunty of Pao Bluan that he was talking about earlier. Pao Bluan thought that he would recover some face after being refuted by Arthur. But she just ignored him and waved her hand signaling Arthur to take a seat.

Arthur sat down and the cla.s.s started normally, except for the four who were staring at Arthur like a dead man...

After recalling the events of what happened earlier in the day, Arthur now wanted to train but there is something bothering him for a while since he came back from school.

After contemplating for some time, he skipped his training tonight and just make up for it in the morning. So he immediately slumped unto the bed and was about to close his eyes when suddenly—

An indescribable feeling surged forth within his body with the heart as the center of it. The pain was similar to a heart being poured on by a hot water yet instead of pain, it's a bit gentle and comfortable.

This continued for less than a minute and then a light emerged from within his heart. Seeing this, Arthur immediately remembered the nightmare he had when he was about three years old, it was still engraved in his mind because the feeling of the pain it gave was immense for the young him.

Just as he was thinking this the light spoke.

"Hey kid, we meet again. Haha", the light said with a hoa.r.s.e voice.

Arthur then looked at him with surprise after a.s.suring that the nightmare he had when he was younger was real! So he looked at the light with a bit of anger for causing the younger him that pain.

"Don't give me that look, you'll regret it. Haha"

The light's voice continued.

"I was too naive... I made a mistake", the light said sounding somewhat grim.

"What?", Arthur asked, perplexed.

"No need to know about it now kid hehe. You will be exposed to this kind of stuff later in your cultivation."

"What cultivation, you have been inside my body, so how come you don't know anything about me.", said Arthur, there are no 'later' in his cultivation because he can not even step into it.

"That's not true... But, do you know why you can't advance... why you can't even start in your cultivation?

Judging by your expression, you've probably guessed it but I might as well say it now to clear up any confusions... I have been extracting your energy."

The light was right, Arthur Vermillion guessed it, because he had his doubts when the light emerged and now the light confirmed it itself.

He was not angered by this as it was useless. But he was curious about the origin of this light and why it chose him, there are alot of stronger people than him in the family so why would it choose him?

"I will make this short... A powerful enemy will come and find me, even if you gather all the heroes in this world and multiply it by a billion, you will not defeat this kind of enemy!"
