Chapter 348: Give Me a Couple
Chapter 348 – Give Me a Couple
“Do you have nukes? Give me one,” Chen Yu said as he stretched out a finger.
However, immediately afterward, he pondered for a moment before stretching out all five fingers and saying, “On second thought, give me a couple more.”
[Erm…]
[Nani?!]
[Just listen to what he’s saying. Are these even words a human is supposed to say?]
[These are the words of Wolverine.]
[Do you know what an international superstar is? ( ͡°͜ʖ͡°)]
[Prepare to watch a nuclear explosion comedy!]
[How can you die peacefully if you do this?]
…
America, NASA Headquarters, Director’s office:
Upon hearing Chen Yu’s words, NASA’s director instantly broke out in cold sweat. He then stiffly grabbed the microphone in front of him and hesitated for a long time before shouting, “Contact the higher-ups immediately! a.s.sistant, reply to Transdimensional’s UP and tell him that nukes are too dangerous., Advise him to calm down.”
The a.s.sistant, who was seated nearby, swiftly typed away at his keyboard.
[NASA: “Mr. Chen, nuclear bombs carry too much danger. Our director advises you to calm down.”]
“What the?” Chen Yu couldn’t help but be stunned when he saw the text reply. He then looked toward the camera and asked, “Who’s your director? It seems he’s quite amazing?”
The director: “?”
NASA’s former director and present a.s.sistant translated, “He asks who you are.”
The director: “??”
“Director, how should I reply?” the a.s.sistant asked.
Inside the enclosed office, the two other full-time translators both had their heads lowered, pretending to have heard nothing.
“Tell him that it doesn’t matter who I am. Advise him not to have any ideas about nukes. They are huge trouble.”
“Yes, sir.”
The a.s.sistant nodded and quickly typed a reply.
[NASA: “Our director says that it doesn’t matter who he is. He advises you not to get involved with nukes. Don’t get into trouble.”]
I-Is this the aura of a global hegemon? Chen Yu couldn’t help but be stunned by the reply.
After a moment of silence, he asked in a strange tone, “Is there a problem with your brains?”
“The UP asks if there is a problem with our brains,” the a.s.sistant translated. “How should I respond?”
The director also couldn’t help but fall into a bewildered state. “Who is he talking to?”
[NASA: “Who do you think you’re talking to?”]
Chen Yu: “???”
…
In the distant Pacific Ocean…
Chen Yu was at a loss for words when he read the message displayed on his watch.
Why are they using such an aggressive tone? Did they grab onto my weakness or something? Or have they uncovered my ident.i.ty already? Have they grown fearless after knowing they have something to fall back on?
His face filled with uncertainty, he swiped his finger across his watch and found the private conversation room named “Chinese Government.” He then typed a message through the conversation room.
[Chen Yu: “Has there been any movement from America recently?”]
[Chinese Government: “Dear Mr. Chen, may I know which aspect you are referring to?”]
[Chen Yu: “Hmm… Mainly in terms of their att.i.tude?”]
After a half-minute pause, the Chinese Government gave a reply.
[Chinese Government: “Apologies, but we do not understand what you mean. Can you be more detailed?”]
[Chen Yu: “I contacted America’s NASA just now to borrow a few nukes to play around with, but NASA’s director scolded me in return.”]
[Chinese Government: “Impossible! Mr. Chen, is there perhaps a misunderstanding? There is some degree of difference between our culture and America’s culture.”]
[Chen Yu: “I’ll send you our conversation log.”]
After tapping on his watch’s screen several times, Chen Yu took screenshots of his full conversation with NASA and sent them to the Chinese Government.
Another half a minute later…
[Chinese Government: “Mr. Chen, we are similarly shocked by this incident and strongly condemn it. However, this certainly does not represent the American Government’s stance, so please do not worry. We are currently communicating with the other party and will certainly give you a satisfactory answer. If your livestream requires nuclear bombs as a prop, China can be of a.s.sistance.”]
[Chen Yu: “Okay. I’ll have to trouble you with it, then.”]
[Chinese Government: “You are welcome.”]
After exiting the livestream’s private messaging interface, Chen Yu faced the camera and shrugged, saying, “Sorry; a small interlude happened. However, it’s just a minor detail, so everyone doesn’t need to pay attention to it. After communicating with the relevant parties, I have successfully borrowed some nukes, so we can start testing the E·I Force Field now. However, to avoid creating radiation pollution on Earth, I’ve decided to set the detonation site on Mars. We can detonate them without worry there.”
[How exciting!]
[Explosion is art!]
[Venus has a higher atmospheric pressure. Wouldn’t the nukes be more lethal if they are detonated there?]
[Can you come to our village to conduct your experiment? Many of the elderly in our village has never seen you before. They can’t see clearly through the screen, either.]
[You really are the hope of the village!]
[Mars has left the livestream room while cursing.]
Under the gaze of his 500 million viewers, Chen Yu flew back to the Headmaster’s Tower’s main hall and descended before the Interstellar Portal.
“Daddy, you’re back! Is the livestream over already?” Little Peach asked as she approached Chen Yu excitedly.
“Don’t come close to me. It’s dangerous to be near the E·I Force Field,” Chen Yu said, stopping Little Peach from coming into contact with the E·I Force Field. While manipulating the Interstellar Portal, he continued, “The livestream hasn’t ended yet. I need a few more hours at the very least. I’m going to collect the necessary props now, so I’ll be taking the portal away.”
“Can I follow, Daddy?”
“No.”
After saying so, Chen Yu entered the address given to him by the Chinese Government and established the spatial link. He then stepped through the portal without hesitation, arriving in a fully-enclosed hall.
“Greetings, Mr. Chen. I am the Commander of Russia’s Strategic Strike Division’s Second Regiment. The thing you’ve requested for is here,” a robust man standing inside the hall said as he pointed to his back. “The activation method is currently being changed, so please wait a moment. It will be ready right away.”
“Mhm.”
Chen Yu nodded. He then powered down the E·I Force Field, stepped forward, and caressed the nuclear warhead ahead of him.
The warhead’s exterior felt exceptionally cold to his touch. Yet, it also filled him with an indescribable sense of power when he touched it.
This was the foundation of mankind in the 21st century.
Although weapons carried great danger, they also served as the most crucial support for a civilization’s survival. Meanwhile, this held true for all civilizations.
“Is this the only one?”
“There is also a hydrogen bomb being transported. It is expected to arrive in another five minutes,” the Russian commander said. “There are also white phosphorus bombs, neutron bombs, and hydrogen uranium bombs in another base. You should’ve received its address as well.”
“I did, but no rush. I’ll take them one by one.”
Shortly afterward, a few electric-powered carts entered the hall and stopped before Chen Yu. A group of soldiers then jumped off the carts and used a small lifting device to lift a warhead off one of the carts.
“Mr. Chen, the warhead has arrived,” the Russian commander said as he accepted two controllers from an engineer. He then handed the controllers to Chen Yu and said, “These are their detonators. The white one is for the nuclear bomb, while the red one is for the hydrogen bomb. Please remember not to mix them up. Most of the two bombs’ protective equipment has been disa.s.sembled already. Once you press the detonators, they will explode in ten seconds.”
“Understood,” Chen Yu responded as he accepted the detonators. Scrutinizing the hydrogen bomb that reached up to his waist even when positioned horizontally against the ground, he commented, “It’s a lot bigger than I expected.”
“Yes.” Nodding, the Russian commander said, “Modern thermonuclear weapons contain more electronic components such as sensing facilities, navigation and positioning devices, and computing systems, so they are generally larger in size. This does not include the missile launch systems.”
“Alright. Thank you for your help,” Chen Yu said, waving his hand. Under everyone’s shocked gazes, Chen Yu effortlessly picked up the hydrogen bomb that weighed over 500 kilograms and said, “I’ll be taking the warhead away now. If it ends up being a dud, I’ll send it back to you.”
“…T-That won’t be necessary. In the case of unknown failures occurring, you can just leave them on Mars…”
Two minutes later, the Interstellar Portal finished establishing a spatial link.
While carrying the thermonuclear warhead, Chen Yu appeared on the sandy surface of Mars.
Boom!
The thermonuclear warhead landed on the ground with a m.u.f.fled noise.
Stretching his slightly sore waist, Chen Yu faced the camera and raised the red detonator.
“Friends in the livestream rooms, I’ve made you wait. Now, let us start testing the product’s performance. Before we start, though, I have to remind everyone that this experiment is considerably dangerous, so please do not try this at home.”
After saying so, without giving his audience any time to react, Chen Yu decisively pushed down on the detonator! Immediately afterward, he spread out his arms and shouted excitedly, “Which boy doesn’t dream of getting nuked?”
