Chdrtlsy: A Short Story 17 An Escape For Melissa

"Call…"

She stopped and turned back to Melissa as she shook her head.

"But you are having…"

Again Melissa shook her head.

"You'd rather die."

Melissa nodded.

"There is another option. A new life, on the planet Resetarits is from. A place without violence and abuse."

She watched Lottatna's face a moment then looked at Resetarits.

"You would look like us, but you'd be cared for," he said.

Melissa looked at Lottatna again and nodded.

Lottatna pulled off her glove and caressed Melissa's face. Her eyes fluttered closed and the ripple to signal the start of the changes pa.s.sed through her body.

"She's changing quicker," Resetarits said.

He took Melissa from Lottatna and hurried her down the hall to the bathroom. While he was out of the room Lottatna contacted Mylrd.

'We have one for you to take home. Her time here on Earth has come to an end.'

'That's your problem, my dear. I will not come to the aid of one unwise enough to blindly join themselves to the Child of Chaos.'

'Very well.' She changed her focus. 'For any kind, tender, nurturing man on Chdrtlsy who can hear me. I have a woman in need of care, and gentle companionship. Please come now with clothes and food.'

Melissa's changes were occuring faster than Lottotna's had. Restarits hoped a man came soon. She would need nutrition in a short moment. A soft knock sounded on the door.

"Resetarits?" Lottatna asked through the door.

He opened the door just a crack and she handed a blanket to him.

"Is Mylrd coming?" he asked.

"He refuses to, but I hope someone else will."

Resetarits nodded then closed the door again. He wrapped Melissa's naked form in the blanket. He held her bottom over the toilet while she body shed the organs she would no longer need. Holding her steady while her head twitched with the changes as the skin sealed closed once more. Her jaw relaxed and her tongue chomped hungrily at him. He helped clean her up then carried her back to Lottatna's office. He sat on the couch with her wrapped in the blanket. She was breathing, but it was quick and shallow. Lottatna knelt beside them.

Resetarits turned to her. "Anything?" he asked.

"Not…"

A man appeared in the doorway with a satchel over his shoulder. "Is that her?" he asked, letting his mask fall.

"Yes."

Lottatna stood as he came in and took Melissa from Resetarits. He pulled out a bottle and wormed the nipple into her mouth. He wiggled it a little before the bubbles started to show with her feeding. The man brushed some hair away from her face.

Lottatna sat on her table and watched how this man handled Melissa. The bottle was emptied quickly and he replaced it with another. The lightness of his touch; the very supported hold he had on her still unconscious body brought a smile to her face. Resetarits' looked from Lottatna to the man holding Melissa. He frowned.

"Resetarits," Lottatna said.

He turned to her and she held out her hand to him. He stood and took it as he stood beside me. She kissed him and he held her.

"What do you call yourself?" she asked the man.

"Nd," he said, changing bottles again.

"Thank you for responding to my call."

"It was the least I could do." His fingers lightly brushed back her whiskers.

Melissa's hips shifted slightly as her tails grew in, the tips poking out of the bottom of the blanket.

Nd's brow furrowed. "Has she already been mated?" he asked.

"Taken advantage of in her youth, but only recently transformed."

He shook his head. "The pheromones are absent."

"They shouldn't be," Lottatna replied.

She got off the table to look through Melissa's tails. The mating tail was not there. She shifted to her head. Leaning close, Lottatna whispered to her, "I, Melissa, release all past abuse, and abuse patterning on all levels and dimensions. I allow the victim to die with my human form."

Melissa's head rolled to the side a little and she stopped eating.

"I am renewed and am safe and free to enjoy appropriate and healthy s.e.xual interactions."

Her shallow, rapid breathing, started to slow and deepen. Her body twitched with the release of the old energy. She relaxed further as her mating tail grew in. The pheromones were light at first then grew stronger as Nd supported her neck a little more. She resumed eating.

"Dear lady," Nd said. "What did you do to bring her around?"

"Supported the release of her past, Nd."

"Such a remarkable change, and yet there is none on Chdrtlsy."

Lottatna nodded then returned to Resetarits' side. He held her close and rubbed her back.

Melissa soon stopped feeding, but did not seem to wake. Nd lifted her against him and stroked her back. Melissa's head shifted and her arms shifted under the blanket. After a moment, she sat up and blinked her large eyes. Nd smiled at her. She gave him a brief smile back then turned.

"Lottatna?" she asked.

"Yes, Melissa?"

"Am I like you now?"

"You are," she replied.

She stood and gave her a hug.

Lottatna returned the embrace and Nd stood. He pulled clothes out of his satchel and handed them to Melissa. Unquestioning, she took them and put them on.

"Thank you," she said to Nd.

"You're welcome, beautiful lady. I'm Nd."

"Nd. I'm Melissa."

"Melissa."

"Are you come to take me to your planet?"

"I am."

"Thank you."

He nodded, but a slight look of disappointment crossed his face.

"Is something wrong?" Melissa asked.

"It's nothing," he a.s.sured her.

"It's a tail number thing, isn't it?" Lottatna asked.

Nd bowed his head. "Melissa is strong. She will find a good mate on Chdrtlsy."

Melissa looked at Lottatna uncertain.

"Nd, how many men are on Chdrtlsy?" I asked.

"Hundreds," he replied. "All of them much stronger than me."

"And of those hundreds, you are the only one who answered my call to aid Melissa."

"Really?" she asked, turning to Nd.

He gave a slight nod.

"Thank you." Melissa embraced him and refused to let go.

Nd held her in return then looked up at Lottatna questioningly.

She loosened her pants and lifted all her tails. His eyes widened then widened further when Resetarits did the same. Melissa still had not let go.

"Melissa and I measure strength differently," Lottatna said. "Tail number means nothing, where care, kindness, and gentleness mean everything."

His head turned and his hands rested on the back of Melissa's head. "But will you still want me after seeing the others?" he asked her.

"Yes," she replied. "Because you were here for me when I needed you most. They were not."

He held her tighter and kissed her cheek.

Melissa let go enough to kiss Nd and his tails came out. Hers did too. He had half her amount, but still a few more than Resetarits.

"Okay, youngins. Not in here," Lottatna said.

They stopped kissing and turned to her. Melissa came up to Lottatna and embraced her.

"Thank you. Thank you."

"You're welcome." She pulled Melissa a little closer. "The first mating is very painful and each mating produces offspring. And don't be afraid to seek answers about your new body."

Melissa nodded then smiled as she pulled away.

"Lottatna?" Nd asked.

"Yes, Nd?"

"I'm puzzled. Of all the men you could have chosen, why…?" He pointed to Resetarits.

She wrapped her arm around Resetarits. "Because I had no place among your people. I, too, am being of change and would have been cast aside just as Resetarits has been."

His mouth had opened to protest, but closed when she had continued. He nodded and took Melissa's hand.

"Good luck, you two," Lottatna said.

"Same, Lottatna," Melissa said. "Thanks again."

She nodded and they left.
