At exactly eleven in the evening, the private plane departed and whisked them to Diamond City.

Ingrid still has no idea what was happening outside. She woke up in the middle of the night feeling so hungry. She slowly went out from the bedroom and seeks out the kitchen. She was at the second floor of the enormous house and that she has better view of the whole place.

Just beneath her is the living room dimly lit and she noticed the masculine touch in every corner. She could not help but be astonished by its interior design.

'Such an exquisite taste.' She said praising the interior designer of the house.

Then her stomach rumbled. The house was so quiet that it is possible to hear the rumbling sound from it; she bit her lips thinking that someone may hear it. She hurriedly descended to the living room and searched for the kitchen, desperate to eat whatever food she may find there.

The kitchen is not hard to find, she immediately opened the refrigerator; her mouth watered and her eyes shimmered at the sight of foods. The double door refrigerator was jam-packed with different foods, different kinds of drinks as well as ingredients that are ready to be cooked.

An idea then struck her to cook a good food for hers to eat.

Clifford was still in his study reviewing the doc.u.ments the needs his immediate attention. His eyes started to strain, a sign that he needs to rest. So he arranged his things, turned off his laptop and went outside.

The moment that he set out from the study, he smelled a savory smell. 'Someone's cooking at this unG.o.dly hour?'

He then walked towards the kitchen and to his surprise he saw Ingrid in an ap.r.o.n, happily cooking. An amusing smile is swathing her lips. He is stunned just at the sight of her. He saw a different side of her which surprises him even more.

Ingrid did not notice that someone is observing her.

Clifford leaned to the wall and crossed his arms, his lips smirking. He was so amaze of how refined she moves in the kitchen, as if she is so familiar with it already.

Several minutes pa.s.sed, Ingrid finished cooking and she smelled it, finding satisfaction of what she just cooked. He could not help it but to make his presence known.

"Ehem, can I join you? I am famished when I smelled on my way to my room. What did you cook?" Ingrid jolted from where is standing when she heard his voice.

"My goodness, Clifford! What are you doing?! You always appeared out in the blue!" her heart was almost reached her throat.

Clifford softly laughs.

"You could have just asked for the househelp. Why did you cook on your own?"

"Hmmp, I don't want to bother them just for a simple task such as this, they need rest, too. And besides I love cooking. It's late night pasta."

"Oh really? The tough EVP of the company knows how to cook and still can find time to do it? That's a news!" he kid.

Ingrid rolled her eyes, diverting her attention to the food.

"Will you not invite me to join you?"

"I don't have to; it's your house so you can eat whatever you want, of course."

He straight away sat opposite her and took a large portion of the pasta.

"Hey, I am hungry don't finish it all." She protested.

"You can't blame me, I am hungry, too. And by the way, your cooking skill is superb. I love it!" He said in between chewing his food.

'Now I know who could cook for me for the rest of my life. Even my chef could not get me to eat so much.' He thought.

To avoid bickering with him at this unG.o.dly hour, Ingrid turned away their topic on what they should do later.

"By the way, what shall we do tomorrow?" Clifford stood up and took coffee cups.
