Chapter 2566 Book of Advancement
Eh?
What was going on?
What were Fang Heng and the others doing?
Just as Georgi was pondering these questions, one of his a.s.sistants noticed something and approached him, speaking quietly, "Chairman, there's a situation at the entrance of the mausoleum. The instructors seem to be in serious trouble. It's advisable to evacuate immediately; otherwise, we might not be able to escape."
Not able to escape?!
Upon hearing this, the others quickly turned their attention to the mirror projection showing the instructors at the mausoleum entrance.
At that moment, the expressions of the instructors turned extremely serious.
Unbeknownst to them, the undead storm had spread to the outskirts of the mausoleum, enveloping the entire area in darkness.
The intensity of the undead storm was higher than any they had encountered before.
It was even still condensing.
"President, this undead storm seems exceptional," one instructor remarked.
"With the speed of the undead storm, they probably won't be able to evacuate in time," another added.
"Well, we can't just do nothing..."
"This undead storm is unusual. If they get trapped, they could be stuck in the mausoleum for a hundred years or more. After that, they'd have to use unconventional means to escape..."
The instructors of the Necromancer a.s.sociation began to murmur among themselves.
Georgi raised his head and gestured for silence, turning to his a.s.sistant. "This undead storm appeared suddenly. We can't be sure whether it was triggered by the mausoleum. First, use the stone slab to communicate with the instructors outside the mausoleum. Have them evacuate to ensure their safety."
"Understood!"
Through the mirror, the higher-ups of the undead council saw the group of over ten instructors outside the mausoleum reading the information on the stone slab. After a brief discussion, they began preparations to evacuate.
"Wait, didn't Teacher Gu Luo leave?"
In the mirror, all the instructors had evacuated, leaving only Gu Luo behind.
"Looks like Gu Luo intends to stay," one remarked. "He wants to provide us with more intelligence through the mirror."
"That's fine. Gu Luo's abilities in soul studies are exceptional. It's suitable for him to remain there. Even if he were to face death penalties while using soul projection, the consequences would be lighter for him. His presence is the best choice."
In the hall, the members of the undead faction nodded in agreement and turned their attention back to the mirror showing Fang Heng and the others.
After dealing with the priest, Fang Heng and his companions began to explore the mausoleum of Empress Persephone.
The hall was filled with coffins of various sizes, appearing somewhat chaotic at first glance. However, upon closer inspection, twelve large coffins were arranged in a circle at the center of the mausoleum hall, with other coffins corresponding to these twelve placed around them.
As for other notable features...
Besides the central ice crystal stone pillar, there were twenty-four additional ice crystal stone pillars connecting the ground and the ceiling surrounding the hall.
The ice crystal stone pillars emitted a chilling aura.
"According to what High Priest Cliff said earlier, to complete the inheritance of the Empress's will, we need to touch the central stone pillar..."
Fang Heng pondered but didn't approach the pillar just yet. Instead, he cautiously observed the periphery first.
After finding nothing of note, the three regrouped.
"Nothing special to report."
"I checked these coffins. Each has a lengthy inscription, but we don't understand the language of Empress Persephone's empire, so we can't decipher it."
Just then, the stone slab in Tan Shuo's hand began to heat up again.
"Message from the undead council!"
Li Shaoqiang leaned in, reading the text displayed on the slab aloud.
"The order of the death realm empire founded by Empress Persephone is strict. We a.s.sess that the closer the coffin is to the central area, the higher the status of its owner in life."
Li Shaoqiang looked up, questioning, "So the undead council wants us to search the central mausoleums for clues?"
"Not so fast," Tan Shuo suggested, glancing at Fang Heng. "Maybe it's safer to search from the outside in?"
"Agreed."
Fang Heng stepped back from the ice crystal stone pillar in the corner.
At least from his observations, the twenty-four ice crystal stone pillars at the edges seemed to pose no threat.
Abe Akaya's vines had also entangled around the ice crystal pillars on the ground, finding no energy to absorb.
They would have to search for clues starting from the coffins.
"We should check that one," Fang Heng suggested, pointing to a coffin near the center of the Great Hall.
He clearly remembered that the shadow of High Priest Cliff had coalesced from that very coffin.
Li Shaoqiang and Tan Shuo, reminded by Fang Heng, nodded lightly and the three of them slowly approached the coffin.
"Stay alert here while I take a look," Fang Heng said, weaving between two other coffins to reach the one belonging to Cliff. He extended his hand and gently pressed against the coffin.
It wasn't locked.
"Chi!"
With a forceful lift, black fog immediately billowed out from the coffin!
Fang Heng instinctively stepped back.
There was no danger.
The black fog quickly dissipated into the surrounding aura of death.
As the fog cleared, Fang Heng looked down into the coffin.
Like before, the bottom was shrouded in a layer of black mist.
Switching back to his normal form, Fang Heng reached into the fog and began to feel around.
He found something!
A book?
Fang Heng's heart raced as he pulled out a thick tome from the bottom of the coffin.
[Hint: The player obtained an item: Death Realm Priest Advancement Book.]
Item-Death Realm Priest Advancement Book.
Description: The player can use this book to advance their Death G.o.d bloodline (can be used when the commander-level Death G.o.d bloodline reaches maximum level.)
Description: If the player has not mastered the Death G.o.d bloodline, this item can be similarly used for advancing undead spells (can be used when the grandmaster-level necromancy reaches maximum level; after use, the skill advances to transcendent necromancy).
It turned out to be a skill bloodline advancement book!
Fang Heng's pupils shrank.
What a great find!
Death G.o.d bloodline!
It seemed to correspond to the transcendent level in necromancy.
Transcendent tier!
This was a domain unreachable by ordinary players.
Fang Heng's heart raced with excitement.
He never expected to find such a valuable item so easily in Empress Persephone's mausoleum.
Unfortunately, he hadn't leveled the Death G.o.d bloodline to its highest tier yet, so he couldn't use it for now.
Fang Heng turned to look at Li Shaoqiang and the others behind him, "We've found something! There's an advancement book in the coffin. Let's search for more!"
If Cliff's coffin contained an advancement book, what about the others?
There might be other rewards as well.
Perhaps more advancement books? Or even experience books would be nice!
