Chapter 2518 a.s.sembly
Fang Heng arrived at the mage tower, but was immediately stopped by two Conservative staff members.
"I am Fang Heng, invited here by Cole. There's an urgent situation, and I need to see your leader."
The two exchanged glances, then scrutinized Fang Heng from head to toe.
"Mr. Fernando is currently attending to guests. We will verify your ident.i.ty before reporting to him. Whether Sir Fernando is willing to meet you, we cannot guarantee."
Fang Heng replied earnestly, "Please inform him that the Revolution Society has infiltrated this gathering. They plan to launch an attack tonight, and it would be best to be on guard now."
The guards' expressions grew serious at his words, and they nodded. "We will relay your message to Sir Fernando without alteration."
Fang Heng waited for a moment, and after the guards reported, one of them returned.
"Sir Fernando invites you to discuss matters in the reception room. Please follow me."
...
"Fang Heng... demonic seed..."
Fernando, who was over a hundred years old, had gray hair and a face full of wrinkles.
Upon hearing the news Fang Heng brought, the wrinkles on Fernando's face tightened once again.
The Occult Research a.s.sociation was also extremely concerned about Fang Heng.
After learning of the conflict that erupted with the Revolution Society yesterday, they had been trying various channels to contact him.
They never expected that Fang Heng would appear at the gathering they were hosting.
"I'm Fernando, the current Vice President of the Alliance. Fang Heng, I've long admired your reputation." Fernando stood up to greet Fang Heng and invited him to sit down. He then added, "I heard you have some very important matters to discuss with us."
"Yes," Fang Heng replied. "Yesterday, I visited the Revolution Society and inadvertently learned some information. To put it simply, the Revolution Society plans to take action against you today. Some of their members have already infiltrated the guests, so I hope you can prepare in advance."
"Mm..."
Fernando pondered for a moment, feeling a bit skeptical.
There was reliable news that Fang Heng had fought fiercely with the Revolution Society yesterday, and the result was that Fang Heng's side had lost.
While it was said to be a loss, it seemed that Fang Heng hadn't suffered much damage; he managed to retreat safely, while the headquarters of the Revolution Society was thrown into chaos, suffering significant losses.
Fernando found it odd, though. How did Fang Heng know about the Revolution Society's ambush plan?
Fang Heng noticed the thoughtful expression on Fernando's face and couldn't help but ask, "Do you have any doubts?"
"No, nothing," Fernando replied, pausing his brief contemplation. He nodded at Fang Heng and explained, "Actually, this isn't the first time the Revolution Society has launched an attack on us. They've taken advantage of our gatherings before."
"The guest list for the gathering is complex, and we've prepared accordingly."
Fernando nodded again and continued, "Regardless, the information you brought is very important to us. I will arrange things immediately. If possible, we hope you can stay here for a while. The president has been wanting to meet you. The Revolution Society has been increasingly erratic in recent years, and we might collaborate to deal with them."
"Yes, of course," Fang Heng agreed, nodding lightly. He added, "But it's better not to be complacent. The intel I received indicates that the Revolution Society will launch a fierce a.s.sault tonight, likely summoning creatures from the h.e.l.l Gate to invade. I fought with h.e.l.l creatures yesterday, and they are quite troublesome."
They were summoning creatures through the h.e.l.l Gate?
While there had been h.e.l.l creatures on the battlefield before, their numbers were usually low and didn't pose a real threat.
If what Fang Heng said was true, it would indeed be quite challenging to handle.
Fernando felt a growing sense of worry and nodded, saying, "Alright, I understand. I will personally lead the team to set up the defenses."
"I had prepared a few magic arrays to deal with abyssal monsters from h.e.l.l before I came here. They might be helpful," Fang Heng added.
Fernando slightly furrowed his brows.
In essence, the Conservatives did not trust the demonic seeds.
"The Occult Alliance also has a large number of magic arrays designed to counter h.e.l.l. However, piling too many magic arrays might interact negatively with each other, and given the tight timeline, we probably won't have enough time to set up so many. Let's save it for next time," Fernando explained.
"Of course, I trust in the strength of the Occult Research a.s.sociation," Fang Heng replied, not pressing the matter further and shrugging.
He could tell that the a.s.sociation harbored significant distrust toward him.
Narlyev was right.
His ident.i.ty as a demonic seed made it impossible for the a.s.sociation to fully trust him. The att.i.tude towards pollution had always been resolute, putting him and the Conservatives at odds.
After bidding farewell to Fernando, Fang Heng found himself followed by two attendants.
Officially, they were there to manage his arrangements, but in reality, they were simply monitoring him.
Fang Heng wasn't in a hurry; he continued to stroll through the exhibition, taking the opportunity to observe the entire layout of the headquarters of the Revolution Society.
The exhibition and trading area were set up in the square.
At the center of the square, apart from the resting area, the Conservatives' internal structure was divided into three main sections.
One was the cl.u.s.ter of towers where he had just met Fernando.
The second was the area with various high-level mage towers on the right.
Finally, there was the resting area at the back.
Fang Heng had already succeeded in getting information out of the two lackeys.
The Starry Tower was one of the high-level mage towers on the right.
...
Outside the headquarters of the Occult Research a.s.sociation, Narlyev personally gathered a team of elite high-tier members from the Revolution Society in the shadows.
"Guillermo, how did it go?"
Guillermo nodded lightly, excitement flickering in his eyes. "Sir, with Fang Heng's a.s.sistance yesterday, we worked overnight to significantly improve the magic array for the h.e.l.l Gate. The strength of the array has been greatly enhanced. Additionally, we've optimized it based on the problems we encountered yesterday, estimating that combat strength will increase by at least three times!"
"Good. I look forward to it."
Narlyev glanced at Guillermo. Guillermo wasn't one to exaggerate; if he said the strength of the h.e.l.l creatures would triple, the reality might well be a four- or five-fold increase. Narlyev hadn't expected Fang Heng to be such a talent.
Ge Tianyu also nodded, adding, "I didn't expect Fang Heng to have such capability. If he can significantly enhance the strength of the demonic seeds, and if he truly intends to a.s.sist us along with his Licker creatures, today presents our greatest opportunity."
"Indeed." Narlyev raised his hand slightly and continued, "Don't focus too much on Fang Heng. We invited him to draw the attention of the Conservatives; our main objective is to find the Book of Greleng."
"Understood!"
