When Wu Chen reached his office, his phone rang. He checked his phone and saw that his mother was calling him. He entered his office, closed the door, and sat down before he finally answered his phone.

"I called you many times since this morning and the call went to your mailbox every single time. Only now you know how to pick up my call. If you don't want to pick up my call, it's better if you just throw away your phone" Before Wu Chen could give his greeting, the lady on the other side started nagging the moment he picked up the call.

"Why are you not talking?" Wu Chen laughed causing the person on the other end to be furious.

"Mom, there was power outrage in my apartment complex last night. My phone died. I could only charge my phone this morning" His mother would give him a call every morning and he would pick them up every single time. So, he understood her mother's concern when she could not reach him this morning.

"Oh really? Aiya… why you didn't tell me ar… "She did not even give Wu Chen time to explain. She was on the attacking side the moment he picked up the call. He could not even respond to his mother when his mother started talking again.

"Putting that aside, I saw the video, your dad's secretary showed us… hehe" There was a hint of happiness could be heard in his mother's voice.

"What video are you talking about?" Wu Chen had an idea about the video that his mother was talking about. He had a premonition of imminent disaster.

"Did you say 'yes' to the proposal? Who is the girl? I can't see her face in the video… But a brave soul like her deserved my approval. Your dad also agreed that it's time for you to get married. "Mom…" Wu Chen tried to interrupt but his mother kept on talking.

But from what I saw in the video, she's not bad. So next week, bring her home to introduce to us" His mother was totally immersed in the thought of having a daughter in law.

Wu Chen face-palmed his face is distress. "Mom… "He did not even know where to start.

"Yes, do you have something to say?" His mother was a powerful figure in his house because his dad spoiled her too much. Most of the time, his mother will always get what she wanted.

"She's not my girl friend; she's just a kid I met here. We are not in a relationship or what…" Wu Chen hated lengthy explanation.

"What??????" His mother shouted in the background. "Why are you swindling kid like that? WU CHEN, I, AS A MOTHER, NEVER TAUGHT YOU THIS KIND OF THING. I am so disappointed in you" Wu Chen could hear some surprised voice at the other end of the line. His father must be around too.

"Not that kind of kid. I mean, Fei Fei is NaNa's housemate and colleague in school. She is just short, just like a kid so I call her kid. Haish… I don't even know why I should explain this. To cut thing short, she was just pranking me about the proposal. It was not real. She felt embarra.s.sed when she fell on the floor so she was making some drama to cover up her embarra.s.sment" Wu Chen started to get a headache. Dealing with his mother required a lot of energy.

After Wu Chen finished explaining, his mother laughed loudly. "Someone actually dared to play a prank on you even though you are an ice block. Interesting! Very interesting ar… "

His mother talked for a bit before she hung up. After the conversation ended, Wu Chen could feel that half of his soul was missing. Dealing with women was not his forte.

Wu Chen called for Liu Shi and after Liu Shi entered his office, they were discussing the report on the new security system instalment. Liu Shi informed him that the 'mole' who was selling the private information about the hotel had been caught and that Liu Shi had already informed Wu Chen's dad about the finding.

Wu Chen nodded his head and Liu Shi exited the office.

Wu Chen opened his QQ and clicked on his conversation with Yi Fei. She had not sent him anything after the Star Wars meme. Wu Chen exited his QQ. He recalled what his mother told him in their phone conversation earlier.

"Your dad had been informed by Liu Shi that the mole had been captured. So, this week you should return to City K to resume your previous work in the Wu Group Headquarters" His mother was excited that Wu Chen could finally return to City K.

For some reasons, Wu Chen did not really want to City K. He opened his conversation with Yi Fei on QQ and started typing.

Luke5Chen: Fei Fei, your knee, is it okay already?

After some time, the other person replied.

After reading the new message, Yi Fei was speechless. Her heart ached a little bit. The whole time Wu Chen was with them in City L was fun. She never thought that Wu Chen would return to City K that soon.

Wu Chen stared at his phone. The response from Yi Fei made him feel down. Then he realized, just what kind of response did he expect to get from Yi Fei? Did he expect that Yi Fei will cry and ask him to stay in City L? But they were not even in a relationship so he did not really know what to expect from her.

Wu Chen shook his head to clear away his thought. Maybe this was for the best. His attraction towards Yi Fei must be temporary; that he will get over her when he returned to his usual life in City K.

Some parts of him wanted to stay in City L, while some wanted to return to City K. So, he could not stop thinking about the possibility. If Yi Fei had asked him to stay in City L, he thought that he might stay.
