The System That Got Devoured By The Feast On The Plate

Shao Qian stared blankly at the Xinghai s.p.a.ce in front of him. At the time when he had been killed, in order for him to survive, he bound himself to a system called 'Resurrection'. To be able to return to the past, when he had yet to been killed, and avoid his imminent death, he diligently completed tasks that the system a.s.signed to him. And although he didn't feel any reluctance to leave his world, however, he had also never expected to die from some unknown cause.

For years, he worked hard at completing the tasks a.s.signed to him. Even when he had had been humiliated and mortified before dying as a cannon fodder in those so-called novel worlds, he never thought of giving up on returning to his world. The system would gather souls and toss them into worlds that it believes can be used for seasoning, similar to stir-frying for flavour. It would then wait till it felt the 'heat' was sufficient and the gather souls were 'tasty' enough before starting to enjoy its feast.

But, after Shao Qian pa.s.sed through countless of worlds, he gradually began to feel that the system's purpose was not as simple as it seemed, and had raised his guard secretly. So, when the system had trapped him in the middle of the Xinghai s.p.a.ce to devour him, he had already prepared a way to drag the system down along with him. However, in the end, he had never imagined that the one that survived would be him.

No, he shouldn't say that he survived. Unknowingly, the him that was undoubtedly supposed to be dead, had instead devoured half the system. As he examined the system's menu, he discovered that the appearance had changed. There were no longer any loathsome tasks, and nor were there anymore of the red fonts that would occasionally pop out to threaten him.

Shao Qian stretched his right hand out in front of him. Seeing the decorative design on the hand's surface, he let out a bitter laugh. The system probably never expected that in the end, it had been devoured by its own 'food' instead.

However, now that he had devoured the system, what else was he to do? After experiencing this sort of situation, he didn't have much thoughts on returning to his world. As for the other worlds…

He had been killed in every world, and so didn't have much favorable impression towards those novel worlds. Once, he had even thought that if he had the chance, he must take his revenge on those so-called male and female leads……

And although it now was merely a half after being devoured, the coordinates fortunately still remained. He wanted to cross into other worlds, but there was an issue with energy. After he devoured the system, he was naturally clear about the fact that his body's current energy was barely enough to cross to a single world. It was just that, he needed to think twice of whether he wanted to go to another world.

Sitting cross-legged in the middle of the Xinghai s.p.a.ce, he took care of the disordered soul power within his body. His soul body that had been full of b.u.mps and holes after he devoured the system was also gradually returning to normal, due to his slowly recovering soul power. Sensing the abundant soul power within him, Shao Qian's face revealed a rare smile.

He could somewhat understand why the system had been so obsessed with gathering energy. A soul full on energy that it was almost overflowing, truly let one feel unparalleled and satisfaction.

Shao Qian had stayed in the Xinghai s.p.a.ce for a period of time to regulate his energy. But when he woke up, his pair of eyes held no expression as he stared at the twinkling Xinghai s.p.a.ce in front of him. After a moment, they regained their vigor.

He always felt as if something had left him. It was to the extent where he felt as if the inside of his brain had a missing s.p.a.ce. It was like… it was something very important that had left him.

This overpowering and uncontrollable feeling made him feel unwell. His chest ached dully, just like something had been dug out from his heart.

In the end, Shao Qian couldn't understand what had happened. Waiting until he felt better, he conveniently grabbed a speck of light floating by his side and left the Xinghai s.p.a.ce.
