"Let's land here," Charles said as he pointed to a clearing in the middle of the forest. We slowed down and dropped to the clearing. Charles looked at me and walked over. "Let me look at your back."
I turned my back to Jim and lifted my wings so he could look at my now healed wound. I could feel his hands move the ripped fabric of my gray and black crop top. His finger ran along the leftover scar. "You healed it well. That's good. But your top needs mended. Here, put on my cloak. Take off your top and I'll fix it."
I took his cloak and put it around my shoulders and took off my top. I made sure the cloak was pulled closed and handed Charles my top. He took it from me and sat on a nearby rock. He pulled a small box out of his pocket and opened it. He took out a small spool of black thread and a needle. He strung the thread through the needle and started to st.i.tch up my top. In about five minutes he was done and held it out to me. I grabbed it and turned my back to him. I realized that I had to take off the cloak to put the top back on. I had to raise my arms and slide them through the arm holes. Charles had accidentally st.i.tched together the latch to open and close my top. I looked behind me and said, "Charles. Please don't look. I have to take the cloak off."

Charles looked at me and nodded. I turned back around and let the cloak fall. I quickly slide top on and over my chest. I dropped my arms and picked up the cloak. I turned around and saw Charles, wide eyed and staring.
"You looked didn't you! You b.a.s.t.a.r.d!" I yelled at him. He blushed and looked away. I ran to him and threw his cloak on him as hard as I could. He laughed and shrugged the cloak off. He stood up and looked at me. I looked at him in ignorance. He smirked and took a step closer. I looked at him confused and took a few steps back. He walked closer and I kept backing up. I was stopped by a tree. Charles stood in front of me. He grabbed my hand and brought his face close to mine. He turned his head and kissed me, full on the lips.
