Xie Changan couldn’t bear to listen to such nonsense. He merely jumped down from the branch with a whoosh and leaped onto the eaves of the wall in just a few jumps. Then, he turned around and slid down along the trunk of the tree.

His movements were so fierce and thrilling that the palace staff below were unbelievably frightened, leading to a cacophony of screams After Xie Changan jumped to the ground, he rushed out without even waiting to regain his footing, “Mother.”

Mu Mingtang followed the palace servant’s lead angrily in order to settle a score with Xie Changan. From afar she could already see a bunch of servants surrounding the base of a tree. Xie Changan’s face was basically carved out of the same mould as Xie Xuanchen’s as even his tone of voice when he was acting coquettishly was exactly the same.

Somehow, this was both irritating and heartwarming.

Mu Mingtang still had a dark expression on her face as she said, “What did I tell you before? I told you several times not to go climb to high places and you still did it anyways?”

Xie Changan pouted, continuing to grasp onto Mu Mingtang’s legs without letting go, “But last time you said not to climb any walls and I really didn’t climb them this time.”

Wow, even the way they quibbled was exactly the same. Mu Mingtang was so angry that he said to the nearest servant with a cold expression, “Take him to the Hanyuan Palace and have Xie Xuanchen deal with this; I’m not capable enough to take care of his son.”

When Xie Changan heard that he was going to be sent to the Hanyuan Palace, he immediately became afraid. He grabbed Mu Mingtang’s skirt and rubbed it pathetically, “Mother, I just wanted to see where you had gone. Once I woke up, I noticed that you had already disappeared.”

Xie Changan was not afraid of anything in his way. In fact, he was the nightmare of the palace servants, but his one sole fear was of Xie Xuanchen. Merely mentioning his father’s name would turn the little demon into an obedient boy.
