“It’s true.” Mu Mingtang walked to the bedside and sat on the foot rest. She then raised her head and looked straight at Xie Xuanchen: “I have no idea how you feel, but please for the sake of my selfishness, could you please at least try. Although you are un-bothered and have lost all motivation to live, I still want you to give it a try. Can you please stay strong and live for me?”

Xie Xuanchen closed his eyes and leaned on the bed frame. Seeing that he didn’t respond, Mu Mingtang changed to a comfortable position, she laid on the bed as she supported herself with her chin: “You might think I’m being rather presumptuous. You’ve only known me for a few days; In comparison, I am not any stronger than Jiang Mingwei as you have no impression of the both of us. Besides, I could demand that she address me as: “Sister in law” and I can brag about it in front of her everyday, like what she used to do. Although you might think that I’m ignorant and selfish, but please, for the sake of my ridiculous ambition, please stay alive, okay?”

Mu Mingtang nuzzled her head into the pillows, and sniffled. After a moment, she felt a hand patting her head. It was Xie Xuanchen that was trying to comfort her. However, he was afraid that he could not control his strength, so he could only gently cara.s.s her hair: “Sure.”

Mu MingTang, who was tearing up, immediately raised her head when she faintly heard him and asked: “What did you just say?”

“I said okay. Stop crying.” Xie Xuanchen’s hand was above Mu Mingtang. As she looked up, his hand accidentally touched Mu Mingtang’s hair. His hand froze, and had no idea whether he should stay still or just put his hand down.

Mu Mingtang, after hearing his words,  immediately held back her tears: “Are you for real?”

“Yes.” Xie Xuan Cheng sighed. He genuinely thought that his existence would not bring any good to the world anymore and he didn’t want to live on. Lately, he thought to himself, he’s a loner and had done both the good and the bad, but this girl right here, was just about to start her journey. After going through all the ups and downs, she still was bright and cheerful. Having such a great personality, Mu Mingtang would definitely be adored and live a peaceful and harmonious life, should she be married to another person.

Yet, she was married to him. Not to mention it would be hard for them to have children, her safety was still in question. He had brought chaos to so many people, he had no intention in bringing this young girl down along with him. For now, he could only provide her a stable life.

The longer he stayed alive, they would have more time to plan further and earn more bargaining chips. All of these would become ways to help her escape in the future.

Mu Mingtang failed to realize Xie Xuanchen’s inner thoughts. She immediately got up and sat excitedly beside Xie Xuanchen: “Thank G.o.d you got it all figured out. I was about to try to annoy you just now, by saying that I plan to bring your wealth along with me and remarry after your death.
