I opened my eyes slightly and cursed inwardly at the ache pounding in my head. I felt like the light would blind me so I groaned and turned over, burying my face in my pillow.
Burberry.
That was the first thing I smelt so I propped myself up on my elbow, still with my eyes closed, in confusion.
It was either my mother had turned over a new leaf and had gotten me an expensive Burberry perfume set that I knew she couldn't afford and had even gone a step further to spray it on my pillow, or Lolita had hooked up with some rich dude last night and was still reeking of his perfume
It had to be one of the two, I thought to myself, and even that was very unlikely.
Although, the perfume did smell very familiar.
I decided to ignore the smell, and buried my face once more into the pillow, smiling to myself.
It does smell very pleasant.
I felt a hand on my waist beneath the covers and I turned over once more, wiggling my eyebrows in confusion.
Slowly, I opened my eyes, ignoring the painful sensation as a result of the bright lights, and felt around my waist for the hand.
I sat up suddenly, and the hand moved again, jolting me fully and completely awake. All my senses were on full alert, although they did protest because admittedly, it felt nice.
This was bad.
"Please be Lolita," I muttered to myself as I peeked beneath the covers, allowing my eyes to trail the hand to the owner.
All I could see was black short male hair.
And a shirtless boy with a very hot back.
My first instinct was to glance down at my own body, and I sighed in relief when I realized I was fully clothed
As if on cue, a thousand things popped into my head at once and I dragged my attention back to the situation at hand.
Oh no, I've been kidnapped!
How did this happen?
Who is this person?
Where am I?
More importantly, where the h.e.l.l is Lolita?
He moved, his hand sending tingles across my waist and below.
Extremely horrified, more at my reaction than at the fact that I was in a strange guy's bed with no recollection of what had happened last night, I jerked away from him and ended up falling straight out of the bed.
My head pounded in protest at my sudden movements, and I groaned, rolling over to rub my sore b.u.m.
What happened last night?
That was when I allowed myself to take in my captor's room.
The walls were cream-colored and covered with posters of bands I had never heard of, posters of female singers and half-naked actresses and on one wall, certificates, trophies, and medals.
One word could describe this room though: ma.s.sive.
The bed was all the way in the corner and from where I sat on the rug, I could basically see the entire room.
Slowly, I crawled over to the window, careful not to make any noises, and looked out the window.
I squinted because of the sunlight but strained my eyes to take in the neighborhood.
There were people casually walking in the street, cars zooming by, and children running around and riding bicycles; all oblivious to the fact that I was a prisoner in someplace I didn't even know.
I did not recognize the area.
I glanced down into the yard of the house I was currently trapped in, to see a row of freshly trimmed shrubs.
The room couldn't have been more than two floors high so I probably wouldn't do much damage to my body if I jumped.
Ignoring the annoying banging in my head and the fact that I couldn't even open my eyes fully yet, I got on my knees and slowly pushed the window open, careful not to make any noise.
When the window was open, I stuck my head out and glanced below to the ground, confirming my decision to jump.
Struggling to stand, I carefully put one foot out the window, and steadied myself on the sill slowly.
"What are you doing?" a voice said suddenly and I shrieked, losing my balance and thankfully, fell back into the room and not out the window.
I groaned and rolled over, holding my sore side and moved to run a finger through my hair, before I realized I was still wearing the wig.
I heard soft laughter then, causing me to turn my head as I glanced towards the sound to see the boy climbing off the bed, and walking towards me.
Giving up on my struggle to see his face, I closed my eyes and sighed.
My head still hurt like a b.i.t.c.h.
"Here, take this," I heard him mutter, his voice much closer now.
I opened my eyes to see him crouched down, with a gla.s.s of water in one palm and a pill in the other.
Sighing, I put the pill in my mouth then slowly, I drank up the water in the gla.s.s. He took the gla.s.s from me and put it on the floor, before slowly sitting next to me.
I turned my head to look at him, as my vision cleared up slowly.
"Avian?" I said slowly, partly out of shock and also out of curiosity.
How the h.e.l.l did this happen?
Why, out of all people in this world, did it have to be Avian?
Avian seemed to somehow guess the questions I was bursting with, because he chuckled, scratched the back of his neck and muttered with a shrug.
"I kind of found you"
"Ugh, don't be so loud" I said, earning a chuckle from him, before he rolled his eyes.
I looked at him in confusion, wondering what the h.e.l.l he was talking about.
He slowly stood up, and then held out a hand to pull me off the floor.
My legs wobbled slightly so he helped me over to the bed and sat me down slowly.
"I stopped at the grocery store's pharmacy to get some uh," he glanced away quickly, avoiding my eyes "to get something and I found you pa.s.sed out against a lamp post."
I scrunched up my face, trying hard to remember what he was talking about. Pharmacy? Grocery store? The last place I remembered being was the yard of the college party Lolita and I had crashed last night.
I also remembered being extremely wasted.
Groaning, I dropped my head in my hands, m.u.f.fling my answer.
"I don't remember going to a pharmacy"
"Yeah well," he said with a shrug and I glanced up at him, getting the feeling that he was hiding something from me.
He got up slowly, and disappeared behind some door. A second later, he came back out with a pair of sweatpants in one hand and a sweatshirt in the other.
He walked to me and set them on the bed beside me.
"Okay so the bathroom is that way," he pointed at a different door that was slightly ajar.
"And when you're ready, you can come down for lunch."
"Lunch?" I asked with raised brows. How long had I been asleep?
"It's two in the afternoon" he said with a smirk and I nodded, accepting his answer. I put my hand on my chin and watched him skeptically.
"If it's two in the afternoon, why were you also sleeping? I mean, clearly you've had your bath," I said eying his khakis and t-shirt "and have been up for a while."
"Hey this is my house, I'll ask the questions" he said with a smirk, shrugging slightly and looking away from me. I ignored his smart a.s.s reply as something else dawned. What would his parents think if they saw me? In their son's room, dressed in a short, s.l.u.tty red dress?
I looked at Avian.
"What about your parents? What about the mother who wants you to 'get very good grades'?" I said the last part sarcastically as he rolled his eyes.
"What will they think if they see me?" I asked, fingering the clothes he had placed next to me; they seemed to be made of real cotton.
"Don't worry," he said as he ran a hand through his hair.
"They're away for the weekend" I nodded and he glanced at me once more, before slowly walking out the door and closing it behind him.
I took this as my chance to take off the wig and place it next to me on the bed, before shaking out my hair with my fingers.
I put my feet into a pair of slippers that were lying next to the bed, and then picking up the clothes, I sauntered into the bathroom.
The bathroom, just like his room, was also huge.
Just how rich were these people?
As I stared at myself in the mirror, I wondered why I was still so calm. I mean, I just woke up in a dude's house with no recollection of the night before.
The last time this happened, I had apparently made out with some slob in a triple dog dare game at one of the many parties hosted by Justin Hall.
I groaned and stepped into the shower, allowing the water to wash away any worries I had.
