Way To The Heavens 41 Azure Leaf Family

"Excuse me." w.a.n.g Wei said to a stranger. "Could you please tell me where I can find the azure leaf family?"

"Yeah, of course. You just have to make your way to the west part of the city. It will take a few hours so you will reach it around noon." The stranger said.

"Okay, thank you." w.a.n.g Wei said.

"Long Yue, Lee Zheng. I know where we need to go." w.a.n.g Wei said.

They then made their way to the azure leaf family. On their way, they had to go across the city's center. All the big shops and expensive auction houses were located in the center. w.a.n.g Wei took the time to write a letter to his patriarch inviting him over to jade city so that they could recruit some people for the family. Long Yue invited his father so that they could go to auctions and Lee Zheng did the same. Among the three strongest victory city families the red fire-dragon family was still the weakest as they had the least soul experts.

They arrived at the azure leaf family just before noon. w.a.n.g Wei directly walked toward the elder hall of the family. It was there that he was stopped by the guards.

"Who are you? What is your business?" The guard said.

"I am w.a.n.g Wei. I came here because your patriarch owes me a favor."

"Our patriarch owes, you. A favor?" the other guard said.

"If you don't believe me go ask him yourself." w.a.n.g Wei then said.

One of the guards went inside the elder hall to talk with the patriarch. He came out a few moments later.

"Very well. You may enter." He said while feeling embarra.s.sed.

w.a.n.g Wei and his friends then entered the azure leaf family' elder hall. Inside there were six elders including the patriarch.

"h.e.l.lo patriarch." w.a.n.g Wei said in a respectful manner.

"What is it that you want?" The patriarch said. He wanted to get right down to business.

"Straight to the point huh? I like that." w.a.n.g Wei said. "What I want is to take a look in the treasury of your family and I want to take three items. Of course, I won't take anything that costs a huge amount but I won't pick the cheapest things either."

"Patriarch we can't allow this." One of the elders said.

"Quiet. I lost a bet. I have to honor it or else who would want to be a.s.sociated with our family anymore?" the patriarch said.

The elders then lowered their heads.

"Alright. Follow me." The patriarch said.

He then led w.a.n.g Wei and his friends to a room which was heavily guarded.

"You can have your pick from any of these." He then said.

"Thank you. Long Yue, Lee Zheng you both also take something." w.a.n.g Wei said.

"Are you sure?" Long Yue asked.

"Yeah, I can take three things so why not?" w.a.n.g Wei replied.

He then turned to the patriarch.

"Do you have something that is from the red fire-dragon family?" w.a.n.g Wei asked.

"We don't have anything that we acquired in our recent history but I do have something which has been in our family for a long time." The patriarch said.

He then came back with a very very old book. It almost looked ancient.

"What is this?" w.a.n.g Wei asked.

"This is something left to our family by the first patriarch of the red fire-dragon family. It was part of some cultivation technique but none of our family had the ability to read it. The only reason we have this in our family is that our first patriarch helped the red fire-dragon family and their patriarch trusted us with it before they sealed the h.e.l.l dimension." The patriarch said.

"Wow, then I guess I will take this." w.a.n.g Wei said. "Since I am finished let them have something of more value since this was useless to you. Also, could you tell me where your son is? I wish to spar with him once again and maybe teach him a thing or two."

"My son is currently at his academy and he won't be home for a few weeks so you will have to wait. I can, however, provide you a calm and quiet place to cultivate." The patriarch said.

"Okay." w.a.n.g Wei said with a disappointed look on his face.

He then went into a secluded room and waited. He then opened his storage device and took out the book which he got from the patriarch.

'I wonder why no-one can read this.' w.a.n.g Wei thought to himself.

He opened the book and was very surprised it was empty there were no words but then a bright light shone. It had a red hue and then focused on w.a.n.g Wei. Right at that moment on the page words started to appear.

"A drop of blood from the red fire-dragon is needed." It read.

'A drop of blood from a red fire-dragon? That is almost impossible.' But then he had an epiphany. 'What if the blood of a red fire-dragon FAMILY member is needed?'

w.a.n.g Wei the brandished his dragon claws on his right hand and made a small cut in his left thumb. A little drop of blood started to flow. He then let the drop of blood drop on the paper.

The next moment the empty pages started shining with a red light and words started to form on the pages. He then started reading the book.

Meanwhile, Long Yue and Lee Zheng both picked their item. Long Yue picked up some herbs which would help him cultivate. Lee Zheng chose a sword fighting technique which he would practice back at the academy.

"Are you guys done?" w.a.n.g Wei said.

"Yeah, let's go back to the academy." Long Yue said.

w.a.n.g Wei said goodbye to the patriarch and the boys made their way back to the academy.
