Way To The Heavens 26 Wang Wei Vs. Long Yue

Down in the waiting room for compet.i.tors, Long Yue and w.a.n.g Wei were just eating a bit before the fight.

"Nervous?" Long Yue asked.

"Not really. You?" w.a.n.g Wei asked in return.

"No, not really. I mean I have sparred against you a lot so I don't think this will be a whole lot different. The only difference is that this time we are allowed to use our soul techniques." Long Yue said.

"Okay boys, it's time. Are you ready?" Teacher Li Yun said.

"Yeah." The boys said in unison.

"I am taking the stage first." Long Yue said.

"Ladies and gentlemen please give a warm welcome for the first compet.i.tor to make his way to the stage…. Long Yue!" the commentator said.

"Woohoo! You can do it, Long Yue!" The crowd roared.

"Okay, okay calm down. Because now it is time for the second compet.i.tor to also make his way to the stage. Can I get another warm welcome? For w.a.n.g Wei!"

"Woooo! Come on w.a.n.g Wei!" Was said as the crowd went wild.

"Alright, compet.i.tors get ready."

"You sure w.a.n.g Wei? You can still get out." Long Yue said with a teasing tone.

"Yeah I'm sure. Are you?" w.a.n.g Wei said back.

"Begin!"

As soon as the beginning was announced both w.a.n.g Wei and Long Yue ran towards each other. They kicked at the same time and their legs collided mid-air. A loud bang was heard and a gust of wind came from the stage. The crowd roared in excitement.

"This fight is already very exciting from the first move. I wonder who will win this tournament." The commentator said.

Up in the private box, the senior from jade academy sat again with the woman next to him.

"So this is their full capabilities." The woman said. "They probably started practicing martial arts since a young age."

"Yeah, they started at the age of five. They are now experts in Jongh martial arts and chi fighters with both two soul jewels of at least one-thousand-years. They will be able to help our academy out a lot. w.a.n.g Wei is from the red fire-dragon family. It is a small family with no real power. Long Yue comes from the holy leopard family which has a bit of power. Their friend Lee Zheng is almost a chi fighter with a nine-hundred-year-old soul jewel and comes from the snow-white eagle family. Their families are not that powerful but with them around their families are destined to rise to power." The senior said.

"Red fire-dragon family you say?!" the woman said with shock.

"Yeah, why."

"You know of the h.e.l.l dimension right?"

"Yeah, of course." The senior said.

"A long time ago the demons broke out of their dimension. It was the red fire-dragon family who sealed them back in the h.e.l.l dimension. They did this at a great price as almost all of their soul experts were killed. Only a few survived but the red fire-dragon soul form was no more. Only once every thousand years is a person born with that soul form. The other times their soul forms are mostly red snakes. This w.a.n.g Wei kid has the potential to become a great person." The woman said. "We must have him join our academy so that we can help him. Get his teacher Li Yun to come as well."

"I will." The senior said as he bowed down to the old woman.

Meanwhile down on the compet.i.tion stage, a fierce battle was fought.

"Amazing. The battle is already this intense and they haven't used their soul jewels yet. They have only used individual techniques which are already impressive to produce one but these are as strong as soul techniques." The commentator said.

"Are you ready?" Long Yue said.

His first soul jewel began to glow up. As he was about to release his fire claws w.a.n.g Wei used his paralysis eyes. But to his surprise on w.a.n.g Wei, it only worked for a small moment.

"What was that? Why did his paralysis eyes only work so short?" Lee Zheng asked teacher Li Yun.

"Probably because Long Yue has a strong soul form. I only found out recently but if the opponent has a strong soul form the effect won't be as strong. It worked very well on Long Sha however but that was because he didn't really expect it and didn't know w.a.n.g Wei. Long Yue does and that is why it won't last that long on him. I know it is a powerful technique if the opponent doesn't know about it but when they do and have a stronger soul form its effects won't last that long." Li Yun explained.

Long Yue used his flame claws again and this time succeeded. But w.a.n.g Wei dodged it thanks to his flexibility. He then pounced towards Long Yue and kicked towards his head.

Long Yue' second soul jewel started to shine and grieves formed on his arms which he used to catch the blow.

"They are evenly matched!" the commentator said.

"You have improved." Long Yue said.

"You're not so bad yourself." w.a.n.g Wei said.

The next moment his second soul jewel began to glow up and he used his poison breath. He thought he would win with this move but what happened next was something w.a.n.g Wei never expected. Instead of running away from the poisonous gas Long Yue ran towards it as his first soul jewel began to glow up.

Instead of five streaks this time he released ten streaks from both of his claws. When the fire came into contact with the poisonous gas a big explosion formed. Smoke was everywhere. When the smoke cleared up both of them were still standing.

"I never expected you to handle my poison breath so well. But with this, you must've used a lot of soul energy." w.a.n.g Wei said.

"I might've used a fair amount of soul energy but to release that much poison must have cost a lot of soul energy as well." Long Yue said.

"It might have." w.a.n.g Wei said.

"Enough talking for now, come at me!" Long Yue said as he pounced at w.a.n.g Wei.
