She poked her face with the end of the pen, caught in her own thoughts. The sound of the doorbell woke her senses. Glancing at the corridor, she wondered who her guest was. The door bell continued to ring, getting louder every minute.

She stood up and headed towards the main door. Looking through the peep hole, her mouth opened when she saw the famous designer, Ricci.

What was she doing at Li Nuxie's door?

Pulling the door open, Li Nuxie plastered a smile on her face. "Yes? Is there anything I can do for you, Miss Ricci?"

The statuesque woman gave a friendly smile. "Miss Li Nuxie?" she extended her hand.

Li Nuxie glanced at the hand in front of her before grasping it firmly, the way her grandma taught her. "Yes. What business do you have with me?"

Ricci mainly designed evening gowns. She was the resident designer of Miss Country C compet.i.tion which had been running for 85 years already. Although Li Nuxie usually see her at fashion events, the two of them never spoke with each other.

"Young Master Xu sent me here," she said.

Li Nuxie furrowed her brows. "Which one?"

"Oh, sorry. It's the First Young Master Xu," she said. "He sent me to get your measurements,' Ricci continued when Li Nuxie didn't answer.

Now, that got Li Nuxie's attention.

"My measurements? For what?" she crossed her arms.

"First Young Master Xu wanted to give you a gown for the Annual Scion Gathering. He said you'll be his date," Ricci said, spilling it out.

Li Nuxie curled her lips. "I would love to. But no man would want his girlfriend to accept anything, much less a gown, from another man. Don't you think so?"

Ricci dropped her jaw. The First Young Master Xu was being rejected? Oh no. This was a big news. "You have a boyfriend?"

Li Nuxie nodded. "It would be a shame to reject the offer, Miss Ricci. But pleasing my boyfriend is my top priority at the moment."

"Oh," Ricci wrung her hands. "Then, I'll get going."

Li Nuxie just smiled before stepping inside the house.

In one of the rooms of Octagon Hotel, Xu Ming was currently rolling on the floor. His two hands clutched his stomach as his eyes glistened with unshed tears.

He glanced at his brother who has his hands clenched, mouth set in a thin line.

"She said that?" Xu Wei asked Ricci again.

Ricci could not decide whether she wanted to get a recorder and just record her answer for Xu Wei or just walk out.

Xu Ming crawled on the floor, before grasping the arm's rest of the sofa to support his weight. "Elder bro, you asked that too many times already I lost count."

"Okay, then. Since she said that pleasing her boyfriend is her top priority, I might as well ask for a date," Xu Wei said before pulling out his phone. He dialed Li Nuxie's number. After three rings, she picked up.

"Hi babe," Xu Wei as Black Emperor greeted Li Nuxie.

Xu Ming and Ricci both rolled their eyes with Ricci pulling her headset out of her bag and putting it over her ears. She doesn't want to hear how Xu Wei seduced his girlfriend.

On the other line, Li Nuxie tightened her grip on her phone. Xu Wei's voice can remove a woman's underwear. She looked down, making sure she was still wearing her undies.

"Yes?"

Xu Wei wrinkled his forehead. "You should call me babe. I'm your boyfriend, right?"

"So demanding," Li Nuxie rolled her eyes. But she felt happy that someone sounded possessive. Hmmmp. "Okay, babe. There, happy now?"

Xu Wei chuckled. "Not yet. I'll be happier if you go on a date with me."

"Oh, that."

"What's 'Oh, that'?" Xu Wei stood up from his seat.

"Well, you see. I don't know your real name and even your real face," Li Nuxie walked towards her bedroom. "Our relationship feels like a virtual relationship."

"What?!"

Xu Ming looked towards his brother whose face became increasingly stiff. He stood up from the sofa and tip toed behind his elder brother.

"So, we should treat this relationship like one," Li Nuxie dropped herself on the bed.

"Y-You -"

Li Nuxie laughed silently. Hah! He dare to play with her? She'll beat him black and blue.

"Okay, babe. Gotta hang up now. I'll do something first. And uh-huh, you are not allowed to visit me," she warned.

"What if I do?" It came like a challenge from Xu Wei's mouth.

"Well, you'll be available in the market sooner than you expected. Bye. Mwah!" Li Nuxie pressed the call end b.u.t.ton before Xu Wei can utter a word.

Xu Wei distanced the phone from his ear and looked at it. Xu Ming from behind can see how the veins from Xu Wei's hand popped out. He tactfully took a step back. Never provoke a provoked devil.

The next morning.

Li Nuxie baked pancakes and brewed her coffee. After arranging her breakfast into a flatlay, she took her phone and snapped a photo.

She sent the photo to Xu Wei.

Xu Wei in his own bedroom was still sleeping when his phone beeped. He reached for it and swiped it open with half eye closed. He almost slid down from the bed when he saw the message.

It was from his future wife.

'I want to eat you.'

Li Nuxie has to slap her chest when she swallowed accidentally the pancakes she was chewing.

"d.a.m.n you, Xu Wei. You're such a tease!" she screamed at the phone.

'Too bad. You can only imagine it.'

Li Nuxie sent the message before turning her phone off. She doesn't need temptations.

Meanwhile, Xu Wei groaned as he felt the thing in his lower body hardened after reading the message. "d.a.m.n, babe. You're such a tease!" he hissed before trooping towards the bathroom.

Twelve noon.

'Lunch time, babe. Don't forget to eat on time.' The message was accompanied by a picture of smoked salmon, mashed potatoes, and a gla.s.s of orange juice.

Xu Wei smirked when he saw the message. He was currently in a meeting presided by Xu Ming. From where he stood, Xu Ming can see his elder brother's expression. Goodness, it's not good to be in love.

'I would love it if you cook that salmon in your underwear.'

Li Nuxie clenched her fists.

'Oh? But that's normal. I always cook in my underwear. As they say, if you can't stand the heat, take your clothes off.'

Of course, Li Nuxie was not aware that the man she was teasing was currently in a meeting, shuffling in his seat and suffering from blue b.a.l.l.s.

Two in the afternoon.

Li Nuxie sent a picture of her wearing a beige dress. The slit started three inches below the hips. 'Got a party to attend. Do you think this dress suits me?'

Xu Wei drew his brows together when he saw the message. He just finished his cold shower which didn't help a bit so he did what he must do. A white towel was wrapped around his waist. What party? He didn't know one. 'You can't attend unless I am your date.'

'I don't need a date. I can go on my own.'

'You need a boyfriend as your bodyguard.'

'Okay. Got your point.'

'So, where is the party?'

'In my bed.'

The phone slid from Xu Wei's hand down to the tiled floor. The lower portion of his body hidden behind the white towel slowly rose until it formed a triangle.
