Death's Scythe Chapter 4: [Gift : Dragon]

It happens extremely rarely but in cases where a hero has acquired a gift that perfectly suits their body and personality , their body slowly fuses with the gift over a period of time . Leo however was a different case .

Leo thought about the alert deeply , but didn't understand anything .

'Why wouldy hair color change?'

He could understand the Dragon eyes integrating with him in order to make it more efficient , but hair wasn't even a part of the manifestation ability .

He got up and stood in front of a mirror in the corner of the room. He could see his golden irises and longer black hair that had clearly changed . Even his jawline had gotten much sharper .

He opened his mouth several times and then his mouth slowly got bigger and scales started growing around it . His face was covered in scales all the way up to just below his nose . He tried opening his mouth and instead of the usual 32 toothed mouth , he had a maw with teeth as sharp as knives .

He wanted to tear things apart but remembered there was more . He clearly remembered it said wings , tail , claws , maw , eyes and scales .

' Fiercer !' He told himself and his eyes which had already been integrated with Dragon eyes got even sharper . He could even see blue colored gases in the air for as much as 5 meters away from him and when he looked out the window he could look enen farther and could zoom in on anything he could see for as far as a kilometer .

' More !' His eyes shined with brightness as he positioned himself in front of the mirror again . He lifted his hands up to the level of his chest and clenched them few times . When he unclenched them one last time he could feel a bust of strength through his arm as his hands and wrists got covered in black scales , just like his mouth .

' Further !' He wanted more . A tail extend from his hip region . It was as thick as his arm and he could move it around freely as if it was another arm extending from his back .

He could feel a certain pain , but he endured it as he said to himself , " Not enough !" He wanted to be even more fierce and his body complied . 2 jet black bat - like wings extended from his back , spanning 1.5 meters on each side . He wanted to go out for a fly , but there was more he could do .

" One more piece !" He shouted to himself as his skin slowly became tougher and st.u.r.dier . He could see it happen to him . His face remained the same and so did his arms , but he could clearly feel them become stronger . But his chest and legs visibly got thicker . He wanted to fly out now but he had a major headache .

" Perfect !" He shouted to himself . He looked back at the monster on the other side of the mirror . With its black maw shaped like an irregular smile , the monster looked back at him . Leo's right hand slowly moved upwards and his index finger pointed at the monster's face as he spoke loud enough for even even those a kilometer away from him , "YOU !" His hand , covered in scales , slowly formed a fist as if he was capturing the beast in a fist , " ARE !" He could hear the sound of the gate opening , but he didn't pay any mind to it . He brought his other hand up to his face and shouted , " MINE !" His headache finally got unbearable as his vision blurred . His claws turned back to their original forms , his hair shortened and returned back to the old deep crimson , the tail went back into his body and so did his wings . His maw once more turned into the face he had seen before and his eyes went back to before he started transforming , yet , still the same golden as they were , just a little dull . The skin on his body once again became the same soft as it was before and the scales vanished .

His body slowly fell towards the ground , but even as he was fainting he saw his sister run at a speed much more than a normal human . Knowing that she was here made him feel much more comfortable as his eyes closed and he felt himself fall on her soft body .

An empty s.p.a.ce , with nothing but darkness in it . In the middle of it , or perhaps under it , being pressured , was the body of a lone person .

He could pa.s.s for any random person on the road , if not for his striking deep crimson hair and deep golden eyes .

He was floating in the darkness , completely motionless . His eyes were open , but he wasn't strong enough to move them .

" Leo ." He heard a deep , ancient voice from somewhere but didn't know where . He tried but it was impossible to move his body .

" Your mission , It can wait ." He wanted to as what that mission was , but the voice was not going to wait .

"This might be the last time I help you with something . " He knew it was the owner of this voice that had given him his gift . He wanted to thank him , but he wanted to surpa.s.s him . Someone who could give such a gift must truly be extremely strong .

"Make it your goal . That is something I might want too ." He felt as if the owner of the voice heard his thoughts . He saw 2 golden pupils in front of his face .

" You will need a weapon , with that body of yours ." He felt a strong piercing sensation on the back of his neck . He wanted to see what it was , but he couldn't even move his body much less see it .

" Get stronger , and reap ." The pain got even stronger as the voice spoke to him once more .

" I am the reaper , you , are my scythe ." The voice started getting farther away from him just like the pupils in front of his eyes .

"Become my reaper , and this , shall be your scythe ." The voice got silent by then end of the sentence but he could hear it reverberate with his soul .

" You will reap all the souls , that , I couldn't ." His soul was shaking , as if it was excited by each word it heard .

" Be strong , Strong enough , to scare even the G.o.ds ." The shaking was so intense it felt like he was going to explode .

" Because that's what my successor should be like ." He couldn't hear anything . The shaking of his soul had stopped . The voice was so distant , he could neither hear nor comprehend what it said . But he felt he could understand what it meant .

He had to become stronger , because this time , even the G.o.ds were in his slaughterhouse .
