Death's Scythe Chapter 41: [Brewing In The Dark]

Things are never as simple as simple as they seem . A dungeon on the Iroas island , though it may look sealed , it only had a single barrier powered by the Mana of the residents . This barrier could be broken at any point by a strong enough collision , or if you consider it such , just overloading it with Mana will break it .

The barrier was comprised of 4 types of elemental Mana , namely Fire , Water , Earth and Wind : The four base elements . If the balance of the 4 elements was broken , it will become Mana of that singular element and will be p.r.o.ne to being broken by an element stronger than itself .

The lich was planning to do exactly that . It had lost it's mana , just like the other monsters , but a dungeon wasn't something any human could interfere with . The man who had put in the base Mana for the barrier , was long dead and his own Mana , which kept the barrier together was already on the verge of vanishing . The lich concluded that in a month to an year , it and it's brothers will be free . They will once again reign supreme over the world that was afraid of their very name and would crush the inheritance that man and his companions left behind .

After coming out of the dungeon , Leo had no energy to talk to anyone . He looked towards Gerald , who he knew had already followed them in and just walked away towards the hotel he and his sister were staying in .

He looked at Gerald from the corner of his eye and noticed he had already vanished .

' Hey system ?' Leo thought in his mind as soon as he reached his bed ' What are my attributes again ?'

' Hmm ... Total ?' He said in his mind as his body fell on the bed .

' And una.s.signed points from that golem ?' With his head buried in the pillow , he sighed . ' Whatever , put 'em all in strength , dexterity and intelligence . Ratio 1:1:2 .

He yawned as he looked at the alert in front of his eyes . Turning his head to look at his sister , he was surprised to find her just sitting there and staring at him . " What is it ?" He asked .

" You've been acting weird ever since you awakened your gift . You used to hate bloodshed and open places . " She said in a low tone . " You also don't act around me like you usually did ."

Leo was shocked for a moment but just said " A dragon's arrogance ?"

Even he wasn't sure how to answer . If he just said he was a different person , that will be bad for both of them .

Grimm told him to look after her , so he was planning to do exactly that , but only till she was strong enough to look after herself . Supreme tier is what he thought would be enough for this world .

He won't even remain here , so what was the point of improving his relationships .

" Hmm ... I'm stuck at upper - intermediate tier . I don't know what to do to go further . Do you know ?" She said as she looked down at the ground .

Leo looked at her for a moment , before asking the system ' Can I look at her attributes and gifts ?'

His eyes widened as he looked at the information over and over again . ' Hey , why is she stuck when I pa.s.sed over with no problems ?'

[ Theory of Hero Evolution : ' Each hero has a pre requisite they have to fulfill in order to become both high and supreme tier heroes . Most with [static] gifts pa.s.s over these boundaries with no difficulties , However , those with [evolving] gifts need to reach a certain level of proficiency with the said gift to become a higher tier hero . ]

[ User Leo is considered to have a [Static] gift due to [GiftReaper] , thus there was no need to improve proficiency with [Gift:Dragon] . User Leah needs to increase her proficiency with her gift to tier 5 at the very least in order to increase her hero tier .]

Leo looked at each word carefully before saying " Try and increase your gift tier or something . " and turning his head to the other side .

' Her's is already tier 6 and mine is at just 8 . I can't let my gift stagnate because I don't train it's proficiency much .'

' Huh . Let's get it to 6 then .' He thought as he closed his eyes and started dreaming .

In the 'Subway' after Leo and his sister had left , there was once more a spatial tear in the middle of the 'platform' . The same man who had come out of the spatial tear last time came out once more . This time , however , anyone on the platform could see him clearly .

He had long hair , that reached his ankles and all the features of his face were completely covered . His body was somewhat huge , but because he wore no upper garment , the well defined muscles were open for anyone to see .

He walked over to where the golem had vanished and looked down at the ground . Moving his hands to form strange runes , pointing towards that area , he slowly muttered some indiscernible words . Slowly after , the metal which had turned to liquid , came out of the ground .

" Those ants are getting stronger . I can't kill any residents of this lower world because of that b.a.s.t.a.r.d's vow . If the monsters of this world are somehow defeated , there will be one less world sacrificed for my master ." He muttered to himself as he placed the same pen like item in the dungeon floor . " If they can't be sacrificed , I'll just have to get rid of them ."

He looked back towards that object and walked into the tear once more .
