After about 5 minutes, Chris and Velma were trying to leave because it was almost time for the gang to come . However, the waves became bigger and they couldn't move from their spots .

"Chris is this supposed to happen?" Velma asked .

"I don't think so," Chris said as he noticed that the people in the wave pool were starting to leave until they were the only 2 people left .

He noticed the lifeguards where the edge of the pool was .

"Sir, what's going on?" Chris screamed while more waves were crashing onto them .

"There's a problem with the system . It's creating more waves than it's supposed to!" The lifeguard shouted back . "Don't worry, as long as you're in the float, it'll be alright,"

"Can you bring us to land with a buoy?" Chris asked .

"Oh yes, we could do that," The lifeguard said as he got a buoy and threw it at where Chris was .

"Thank you," Chris said as he brought the buoy to Velma .

However, before Velma was able to hold onto the buoy, a wave much bigger than the rest of wave crashed onto Velma and Chris . The two were forced off their float and they were dragged underwater and couldn't swim back up .

Chris vaguely saw that Velma's body was floating and was pulled away . Soon he lost consciousness .

When he woke up, he was in the hotel room on his bed . The gang was around him and s...o...b.. was pushing him a bit with his paws . Seeing that Chris was awake, everyone smiled .

"Chris you're awake!" Daphne exclaimed .

"When Velma called to say that you were in deep trouble, we were extremely worried . We thought you were going to . . . go," Fred said .

"Well, I'm glad you're glad ol' buddy ol' pal," s.h.a.ggy said .

"Reah," s...o...b.. said licking Chris' face .

"Haha thanks guys," Chris said . He then looked at Velma . "Hey Velma, are you alright? You were also drowning as well . I-,"

Before, he could finish, Velma suddenly hugged Chris .

"Thanks Chris," Velma said .

"Velma I- Wh?" Chris asked .

"There's no way a person could suddenly float when they're stuck in turbulent water . You must have helped me before you almost drowned," Velma said .

"I mean it's what anybody should do," Chris said .

"No that was very brave of you," Velma said . Suddenly her face turned red and she let go of Chris . Everyone gave the knowing smile and Velma quickly stood up and left the room .

"Well now that I'm alright and awake, can you tell me what happened?" Chris asked .

"Uncle Tom told me that when his staff went to the control room to try to stop the wave, like the person controlling it was unconscious . When he looked he saw that the power for the water pump operating the wave pool was at its maximum," s.h.a.ggy said .

Chris eyes widened .

'I'm sure that my family here has some enemies, but if I did have enemies here, it wouldn't make sense to kill me in such an open place . Then if it is not for me, then who was it for?' Chris thought .

"What time is it?" Chris asked Fred .

"You've been sleeping for the past 8 hours . It's 7 right now," Fred said .

"Wait you've been waiting in this room for 8 hours for me to wake up?" Chris asked .

"Not really," Fred said . "Sorry, but we went to the water park for a bit . s.h.a.ggy's uncle said he doubled security so we just played around for a bit before coming back here to wait,"

"Don't be sorry . I can't ask you to wait 8 hours for me . We're here to have fun," Chris said . Although many would call them bad friends for just leaving him, Chris just finds it more relieving that the kept his friend for 8 hours .

"However, Velma slept on the bed next to you and she said she waited for you to wake up for 3 hours," Daphne said while smiling .

Chris smiled until realized that dinner was at 8 .

"Guys we only have an hour left till dinner," Chris said .

"Oh yeah!" Daphne said . "I have to do my make-up and help Velma with hers . Alright I'm going to leave guys,"

Daphne stormed out of the room leaving Chris and the other boys looking at each other .

"Alright we have to get ready too . We can't just go in our normal outfit though . We're going to a fancy restaurant," Fred said .

"Can't I just go in this?" s.h.a.ggy asked pointing at his usual green shirt and brown pants .

"No can do s.h.a.ggy . Daphne prepared an outfit for you . She said it's formal, but it's extremely comfortable," Fred said as he took out a black suit .

"Oh man, it's going to be tight," s.h.a.ggy said as he went to the bathroom to quickly change . When he came out, he had a bright smile on his face .

"Well look at that . I look extra fancy and like it's the most comfortable outfit I've ever worn," s.h.a.ggy said .

"Well I heard it cost Daphne a bit of money so it better be comfortable," Fred said . "Chris, Daphne packed you a suit as well,"

Fred quickly took out 2 more suit and went to quickly change inside the bathroom .

"Well don't you look fancy?" Chris said as he looked at Fred white suit with a white tie .

"Well looking at it now, white suits me quite well," Fred said .

Chris looked at his suit . It was dark blue and feeling the fabric, Chris knew that it was pretty expensive .

'Daphne must have spent a small fortune buying 3 of these,' Chris thought as he went to the bathroom to change . Honestly the suit was comfortable . It wasn't tight even though it was a perfect fit . It was easy to move around and he noticed that dark blue looked good on him .

"Alright let's go," Chris said as he came out . The 3 boys and 1 dog left the room to go to dinner .
